Farmer's POV (Point of View) is a channel where I share videos of different chores that are going on on our small family farm in Slovenia. We have 60 heads of cattle, mainly simmetal breed and we milk about 35 of them. We farm in a fairly hilly area so our equipment is relatively small. Currently we own 4 tractors: Fiat DT55-56, New Holland TN70DA, Deutz Fahr Agroplus 85 and John Deere 5085M. We work around 20 hectares of mainly grass fields and about 2,5 hectares for silage corn. We also have 7 hectares of forest.
Slovenian Tourist Board should be grateful for these videos! I am sure you have generated a ton of interest with people wanting to check out this beautiful country.
Hehe yeah seems like it 😀
Ive seen some hay fields, but man, that grass looks like it makes some ridiculously high quality hay!!! Even growth, nice and tall, good color...
Edit: still think its crazy how just a little bit of twine keeps them cows in line!
Edit 2: Those are some crazy views you got on that hill of yours! The valley, and the huge mountain in the distance....wow.
Its a bit old but should be good nonthless 😀
Yeah they think its electric wire 😁
👍
That is a very nice crop of hay!
Très belle image ❤belle région ❤jolie ferme ❤
Lovely Video! 😃👍
Oh no ! One again !!! - Bonjour, avez-vous beaucoup de distance à parcourir entre les champs et votre ferme ? Merci pour cette nouvelle vidéo. - Hello, do you have a long distance to travel between the fields and your farm? Thank you for this new video.
No, most of our fields are within 1 kilometer from the farm, the furthest is 4,5 km.
Your farm and animals are a credit to you and your family 👍 do the holes occur from rain or underground water?
Thank you 🙂 well underground water caused by heavy rain.
Love it!
Gute Arbeit! 👍
We're also making hay. Luckily we got most of our silage out in dry weather. Unfortunately it looks like we're getting back into drought conditions.
Good! Oh, hope you get some rain soon 🙄
Lots of bugs in the cabin with that hay! Have we seen wild boar damage before or is that something new? And another sink hole! Yikes!!
Yeah, should keep the windows closed 😅 thats not new but the pressure seems to be increasing again.
Certainly is beautiful country. I would be scared shitless driving on those angles though. Do you hunt the wild Hogs? Great video as always, from Ontario, Canada.
Yeah some parts are sketchy 😅 no, I dont. You can only hunt if you're member of hunting association. Thanks 🙂
❤ hello from Turkiye
👍👍
Great job i find myself worrying about you on those hills 😮good job missing the hole
Is there much Wild boar damaged is it a new thing and can u hunt/shoot them? Weather not been to good here for hay yet hoping might be next week but did say that last week 😅
Take care 👍
Haha thanks, I worry too sometimes 😅 well we've had some wild boar damage in the past but it was fairly quiet last few years. Last year they dug a few patches on that same field but this year its a lot worse 😬 no, we would have to be members of hunting association. Yeah I hear you 😅 thanks for watching 🙂
Yeah, reminds me always to my childhood😃! We did it with a small Eicher tractor and a Mengele loading wagon😁💪....and the hay blower was INSIDE the barn.....so it was always VERY dusty! But nevertheless it was a great childhood😎👍! Cheers from Bavaria!
Nice! 😀
❤❤❤❤
Pov cant you film next time your mais so i can see how tool they are now when you have sunshine
Ok 👍
I wonder, the part that does the cutting seems kinda small, meaning it takes a lot of time/work to get it done ... is that because the tractor can't handle a bigger one?
just wondering ....
Yes, larger mower would require more horespower and would also be heavier which isn't the best on those slopes.
Nice video. How many cuts of hay do you usually get in a season?. Weather looks nice. I live in Phoenix Arizona, it has been very dry and hot 🔥. Today was 113'f. 😢
Thanks 🙂 3-4 cuts. Oh thats hot 😅 greetings to Arizona 👋
I am wonderring why you use the john deer to mow and not the deutz?
A bit nicer cab on the JD 😀
Hey, do you know how many loads of your loading wagon you have per hectar, I know it warries but some around number? Greetins from Croatia !!
3 - 4
Which irrigation system you use to provide water for crops
None, just rain
Do you know what is causing the sink holes
Underground waterways but enlarged due to excessive rain and heavy downpours.
👋👍
What rpm are you using on PTO? You're mowing quite fast
540 on pto (540E)

I’ve still not started mowing yet😆🤦♂ a lot of people have this week in the uk.can’t believe you found another sink hole! Why do you have sooooo many?!?
Oh the weather this year 😅 we've had first whole week of sunny and stable weather so everyone was out mowing hay, lots of farm traffic 😁 oh I reckon from last years heavy rain and floods 🙄
For most of us it is always wonderful content. Everything is nice about this farm inclluding the hard working farmers...except that hole. Thank God you missed it.
Thank you 🙂 oh yes 😅
Man I love watching your videos. I´m a farmers apprentice. Just started my 15 months pratice after 6 months school at a small dairy farm with 80 Jersey cows. I milk and do lots of other stuff. I´m going to learn to mix feed, pick up fresh grass ´cause we´re organic so they have to be outside at least 6 months a year and lots of other stuff. I just love this lifestyle so much, and I learn a lot from watching your content. Keep it up! I wanna have my own farm too one day or be the operationmanager of a smaller farm. 21 years of age rn, so started a bit late, but we have about 25-30 beef cattle at our farm at home, so I help with that too everyday.
Hi, nice to hear from you! You seem to be the right man for the job 👍😀 keep it up, I'm sure you'll be a successful farmer 🙂
I spent my childhood ON the Farm of my best Friends parents. Every day after school. After my a-levels i served the Army vor 12 years and afterwards with 33 i became a apprentice on farm a now i do some environmental stuff. I is never to late to do whatever you want.
Which country are you from?
Slovenia

That’s crazy that you have so many sink holes. Awesome video as always.
Yeah, new ones are popping up 😬
Another awesome video Gasper It's lucky you missed that sinkhole or even see it mowing the grass second one this year must be from all the rain that their getting worse I'm so glad you didn't drive into it that could have done a lot of damage to the tractor or mower
You're grass is doing awesome this year that looked like a heavy crop of hay along with two cuts of silag done You're doing an amazing job their Gasper and you're videos are always a joy to watch i wish the were longer though
Looking forward to the next one
Best wishes from Ireland 🇨🇮
