    Sir can you give example for change within social system and change of social system as a whole

      Sure, I'd be happy to provide an example.
      Talcott Parsons' sociological theory is centered around the concept of social systems, in which different parts of a society work together for the overall stability and functionality of that society. He is a well-known proponent of the structural-functionalist approach in sociology. Social change, according to him, can occur within this system or can be a change of the entire system itself.
      Change Within a Social System: This is akin to tweaking parts of a machine without overhauling the entire thing. For example, think about the shifts in gender roles that have been happening over the past few decades. Once, women were mostly confined to roles within the home, but societal attitudes have changed to increasingly support women's participation in the workforce. This change, however, doesn't overturn the overall social system-it modifies a specific aspect of it.
      Change of a Social System: This is more of a fundamental transformation of society, like a complete change in the system of governance, which often results from significant events like revolutions. For instance, the French Revolution led to the abolishment of the feudal system and the establishment of a republic, which drastically altered the social structure and institutions.
      It's important to note that in Parsonian functionalism, changes-whether within or of the social system-are usually gradual and adaptive in order to maintain the overall stability of society. The system tends to resist sudden, drastic changes, as they can create instability and dysfunction.
      Hope this clarifies the difference. Let me know if you have further questions!

    Sir what is power system? 37:46

    • @edugurukul
      @edugurukul  ปีที่แล้ว

      A "power system" refers to the social institutions and mechanisms that distribute, maintain, and enforce power in a society. This includes political institutions, laws, and cultural norms that define who has power, how it can be used, and how it is transferred.
      The power system is crucial for facilitating social order because it enables society to set collective goals and make decisions. It's also significant in social change as shifts in power dynamics can lead to transformations in societal structures. Therefore, it plays a dual role: maintaining stability and driving social change.
