      @IIWII it wasn't the war itself it was a complete misunderstanding of religious politics in the middle east and a catastrophic disarming if the army. Saddam was so hated they could've ensured a peaceful transition of power with law and order maintained. They didn't do that. That's America's fault not the UK

    • @patriceaqa288
      @patriceaqa288 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @IIWII it's really sad to know the army had multiple army generals in Iraq whom were willing to cooperate for an internal coup and were dismissed only for an aggressive campaign named sadly shock and awe to effectively depose Saddam with little to no resistance. The Iraqi army hated saddam and his corrupt family. They never should've been disarmed and removed

      The invasion itself was an atrocity, inflicted for the sake of securing control of Iraq's economy by Western (and, in particular, American) TNCs, and of ensuring the sale of Iraqi oil on terms favourable to the US.

    If you travel to Iraq to convince Saddam Hussein to allow inspectors in and comply with their demands, you are going to have to talk nicely to him if you want the conversation to take place at all. It’s far better to jaw-jaw than war-war.
    There is nothing wrong with George visiting Saddam Hussein and nothing wrong with what he said to him.
    Politics is all about compromise and diplomacy. Sometimes you need to smile and purr at people you despise.

    The death of innocent people..is appalling no matter by whom.
    George is correct.
    However, when Alister starts talking he is referring to a opinion by the attorney general... effectively one person's opinion. (Or a third party...so you can express how and what you like. ie twist it)
    So Alister stays within those lines and defends Blair...well that easy..someone else has done the work for you. George is the correct one he is using his own words....not another's statement.
    Whether you like George or not he is always on the ball with..HIS WORDS..unlike Blair or Campbell
