Our wrap guy taught us to put painters tape on the top front of the decal and then you can hang it where you want it. Then when you are happy with it just flip it up and peal the backing off and stick it on from the top down.

Love the truck. Jessica is such an integral part of your team. Glad to see the love you both have for the old classic vehicles that just need a little love!!! Watching from South Korea. MY FAVORITE CHANNEL ON TH-cam!!!
I don't know why I'm just now realizing this. But Jessica is really good in front of the camera. Seems really natural at describing to the audience what she's doing. She'd fit right in on an automotive TV show.
I used to work at an Automotive OEM Supplier where we Manufactured Throttle Pedal assemblies. The rod comes on a long roll where it is pulled through a straightener. It is then cut to length, "coined and pierced" in a press. Finally it is bent into shape and the plastic pedal pad is snapped on. Some types also have a pivot pin welded on as well.
That was a really great build that most people could do in their garage at home. The end result of your truck is something I would very much like to own as you swapped in a reliable powertrain into a cool old square body. Great work Derrik, and awesome content!!!!
Looks amazing Derek. You and Jessica did a fantastic job on this rig. Turned out awesome. I like that you kept the engine swap nice and clean as well. You have my stamp of approval!
Bombed around in the 90’s with a buddy who had a heavy half he inherited from his Dad.. so many great memories! hemi half brings back all those good feelings! Thank you VGG!
Watching you put the stickers on. You may already know this but from experience in installing stickers on drilling rigs as part of my job title, spray some windex then apply sticker, then use your favorite hotel room key to “set” the sticker after you get it situated. Huge fan of VVG and have watched every episode some of them a few times. Literally the only reason I go to the Tube.
Nice touch on the fan connections, just did the exact same thing on a rewire on a boat trailer. I will use them again. Alot more goes in to this build than people think, nice job Derek 👏
I'll be dipped the last time I saw the truck was at the Holley moparty event. I didn't think I'd see if you'd get it running, good to see you coming back to finish the truck knowing that you have been so busy Derrick

Derek & Jessica...you delivered again by building an awesome, cool rig and making a great video of you (both) working on it, explaining the process and the challenges you had and editing all of it very nicely! (Is the Chevy C10 'Hemi Half' too cool for school? It might be. ;) ) Loved it, thanks for sharing all of it with us! 👍 🔧🪛🔩⚙⛽🏁
Hi Derek, Nice job on the C10. My friend Doug (who passed away December 30, 2020) once told me his idea of the ultimate work truck would be to take a Cummings turbo and mesh it to an Allison transmission. That would look great in a Chevy pick-up or your ramp truck. Just thought I'd share a project idea your way...lol. Enjoy the holiday season.
My uncle has just that, a Chevy dually with a Cumins, well minus the Allison, the computer to run that transmission was quoted at like $1500 when I last saw him
That's an awsome rig Derek. I had an 85 heavy half Silverado. With the 454 bb. I had to get rid of it, I miss that truck. My friend and I, drove it to South Dakota pulling an enclosed 15 ft trailor. Had to stop in Minnesota. The town that does the corn palis. The trailor was bending the bumper. We slept on a picnic table, in a campground. Next morning went to tractor supply bought a hitch. Put it on in the parking lot .we only had to drill 2 holes in the frame .only took us an hr.Great memories 👍👍. Thanks again
I love the revivals and I love these build series! I would love to see some of the other revivals getting their own build series as well! Great job fella! It’s awesome to see your buds and family helping throughout also!! Keep it up brother
I’m pretty old,so I can’t say I really understand what part of “ patina “ is attractive. Back in the Stone Age ,when we built our hot rods we would concentrate on the go fast goodies first , so many cars might be in primer or a little rusty or dinged up, the goal was to make it look good after it was fast (relatively)…. So much clever, hard work was put in this beast it would be , IMHO, a little sad not to bring it to its full potential. Like I said I’m an old man and irrelevant, you do you…..this a really cool build and the effort you and your bride put in to create this content is inspirational. Thanks.
Awesome work. I hate to be that guy, but I would have changed up the alternator wiring. 150A is a bit bigger than that old factory wiring is good for. It should have gone straight to the lightning cube with some king snake sized cable with a 150A fuse.
Derek this was an absolute joy to watch. You have a wonderful channel, made even moreso with the inclusion of your family; seeing Jessica and the boys helping is always a highlight. Keep up the amazing work and my God bless you and your family always.
That old Chevy not only looks awesome she goes down the road pretty good too! Yah, I know it’s a Hemi but what’s the difference. You turn the key, it starts, put her in gear she goes down the road. And, admit it, she sounds pretty good! Thank you Derek for turning this old girl around. Great video, great content!
Ya know, as far as the vehicular videos go, you make the best content out there!! I can’t put my finger on it, but your videos just have an edge over the other channels on TH-cam!! We really do appreciate all the hard work you put in to get this content out to us fellers. Thanks again!!
Thank you for yet another fun and entertaining show. The old six was very bad need of a rebuild and you found a cool project to do instead. I wish I had the opportunity to be able and put in some needed $$ into my old rig as well.. The engine swap was entertaining and always educational as well. I like the way you take care of the drive train, suspension's, intake, wheels and tires and lastly the interior. Keeping it low profile as not to attract any noticeable attention from a super clean restored body and paint. Keeps the sticky fingered car thieves from taking note and possibly trying to or from stealing your hard work and amazingly well put together projects vehicles. I have been working on and tinkering with assorted GM cars since 1977. They have been a great source of entertainment and traveling pleasure for me. 1955 210, 1968 Buick GS430, 1973 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme, 1987 Celeberty, 1983 Cavalier wagon, 1991 Corsica, current 1995 Chevrolet S10 BLAZER 4.3 Vortec 4x4. Thanks for your talent and love of what you do.
The reason I love this channel is because this guy has a great watchable personality but also the smarts and the ingenuity of how he gets around problems and customizes shows a level of brains not seen in today's generation. It's a breath of fresh air and it's a joy to watch him work out these problems.
@@davsaltego When most of today's generation can't even change a tire... Your stretching things with your statement bud. Technology has made people dependant, lazy and dumber. When once people searched for ways to solve their own problems and to help others now they just call someone else. The problem is that those of us like Derek that fix things and are capable are getting older and dying. We already don't have enough people with the knowledge to keep the lights on or engines running. Within twenty years where goingnto have even less knowledge and capable people and the world will begin to stagnate and crumble. We have already had to shut down our nuclear engines in military subs and ships because we lack the personal knowledgeable to maintain them. It's only going to get worse.
Hello Derek. been watching your channel for quite awhile! Enjoy your humor! But today I watched your channel on my T.V. for the 1st time and noticed the hands of a mechanic! enjoy your channel and your family!
Hey Derek. I just got to watch all of the Half Hemi vids. They were great. Thank you for putting out such quality watching materials. Take care be safe.
Thought I was watching Deboss Garage there for a second when I saw ya at 33:45! Amazing content as always Derek! Thanks for making my office job more bearable!
Incredible. Used to own a 79 short bed with straight 6. LOVED it. Bought it from my dad when I was in college. Thanks for your channel. Brings back lots of memories as I threw a rod through the engine block and had to replace the engine.
That was quite a project. Good Job to the whole crew. Kept the ok truck on the road. With that gear ratio in the rear it will be interesting to see what the fuel mileage will be. First time I’ve bleb blubed folks like this. Wish there was a way to talk back and forth . Thank You Derek
thanks for sharing this video. that is one cool conversion. not something you see everyday. when most people think of conversions they think an LS , but this one with the Hemi is just way to cool. thanks for showing how it done
What a beaut!!! You got a guy drooling here. Way back when I was 15, I tried getting my hands on Heavy Half from my friends dad but he just couldn't part with it so I ended up with a 77 el camino. Square bodies are the best! But I've never owned one, had a 68 c20 beater with 6.11 gears for years, could never go over 60mph. I'm dreaming about this HemiHalf, and yes, ive been buying plenty of swag to get my chance at this rig!! You are a savior of America's forgotten and a fella appreciates you and you wonderful family!
Derek ya know what would be an interesting idea? If, for like a summer or something, you did some kind of contest for an assistant on the channel! Maybe get some of those younger fellers down in the dirt with ya.
I think a new windshield is really a no-brainer. First you have a crack in it, which compromises it's strength, and then you have that bullseye right in front of the driver's seat. As long as that 2:73 is a two tire fryer, IF you should decide to upgrade it, I might suggest a 3:73, but nothing more than that. When you did the GTO for that Veteran, that entire series became my all-time favorite play list on TH-cam. I shared it with a few Vietnam Veterans I know from our local American Legion, and it actually brought some of the bravest men on earth to trickle a tear or three. Having said that, this truck very quickly became my favorite in your fleet. To everyone who had hands on this revival, GREAT JOB!!!!!!
It’s all fun and games until a feller forgets to turn down the noise knobulator down on his ear speaker device when the intro hits 😂😂😂 as a mopar guy I love this build. Keep the rubber burnin Derek & fam
Beatin on the ol weatherstrip with the dead blow reminded me of a time when I was about thirty five miles south of Stanley ND.....if ya know ya know...! LOL I love this pickup. I've been a Ford man my entire life, but through all these years of watching your channel, I've learned to appreciate the fact that all big three automakers have made some incredible vehicles, and done some great things, you definitely favor the ol bowtie flavors, but you really don't discriminate either. I'm Soo glad you got to put this cool rig together! Go roast em for us northern folk!
got to love the shop lion assistant! love all the stuff you do Derek!

As an FYI/pro tip for neutralizing rust, take a look at Klean Strip Concrete and Metal Prep. It does a fantastic job. Crazy a how big the hemi is but in a c10 still tons of room
Although the water pump is optional, it is highly recommended equipment.
Constantly impressed with how hard a guy works to bring us awesome content. Thanks, feller.
The reason I love this channel is because this guy has a great watchable personality but also the smarts and the ingenuity of how he gets around problems and customizes shows a level of brains not seen in today's generation. It's a breath of fresh air and it's a joy to watch him work out these problems.
Um….there’s plenty of his ingenuity and brains in “today’s generation.” All doing all types of great and wonderful things.
Whenever a new video comes out, I hit like immediately, then watch later. Great content and hugely entertaining. Thanks Derek.
I love the guard panther Derek. Maybe an intro and back story in a future video?
Well, lookit what you made. I got almost as much satisfaction watching as you did. Almost. Thanks for the ride
Beautiful truck , beautiful woman and beautiful man! Can’t beat VGG ❤ thanks guys. Love and luck from Ireland 🇮🇪 🍀
Sounds like real commercial at the end
Hello Derek. been watching your channel for quite awhile! Enjoy your humor! But today I watched your channel on my T.V. for the 1st time and noticed the hands of a mechanic! enjoy your channel and your family!
That was an awesome burnout!!!
I loved the smoke trickling down the cab, before full whiteout.
My friend & myself watch you at 3am every morning while he has dinner & it's ALWAYS dinner with a comedy act‼️
You Sir Derek are an absolute legend‼️
Hey Derek. I just got to watch all of the Half Hemi vids. They were great. Thank you for putting out such quality watching materials.
Take care be safe.
And -- as always -- thanks for 60FPS!
What, who, I don’t know, where does a fella find those sweet wheels? This are NICE looking!
a guy and a gal did an awesome job you guys are so blessed to have a wonderful family keep up the great work Derek and Jessica
thanks for sharing this video. that is one cool conversion. not something you see everyday. when most people think of conversions they think an LS , but this one with the Hemi is just way to cool. thanks for showing how it done
The Hemi half square body Chevy looks fantastic! Love it! 👍
Wheel color with the stickers is perfect!!
It’s all fun and games until a feller forgets to turn down the noise knobulator down on his ear speaker device when the intro hits 😂😂😂 as a mopar guy I love this build. Keep the rubber burnin Derek & fam
You and all of your friends / family have made this rig truly awesome.
