This video was a god send! But hoping I wasn't the only one who sewed the arm whole shut on the first attempt - don't know how that happened! 🤦‍♀️😂

I'm just about to make this dress, so glad i found this video. Once i've made the first one, i want to try another in a tweed wool and would like to line the whole dress. Any chance you can do a video to show how to line a full garment ?:)

This is so much easier than the way I've been doing it for so long. Thanks a bunch.

I wish I had seen this before I finished my last project. They had a very convoluted way of doing everything before the top of the shoulders, then going back and doing a slipstitch. This looks MUCH easier, quicker and less hassle than the way the pattern instructions I have. Thank you for sharing.

Hi Bebe, I am a beginner too so this may not be right, but I think the facing would be the same shape and measurements as the main front and back pieces but with a shorter length depending on preference (2-3inches at least I have found to be common). Front and back pieces of the facing are constructed separately and then added to the main garment. Tilly and the buttons patterns include a matching pattern piece for the facing so there is no need to work it out. This dress is 'olive' from the 'make it simple' book if you wanted to make it.

How do you do the all in one facing without the front opening please?

I found this really difficult and the finish even after pressing just doesn’t look right 😢. Could you sew this facing on using the burrito method.?

I was wondering the same. So not sew side seams until facing and armholes done. Did you try it?

No stay stitching needed for neckline? So confused when to use it... help

Super timely and just when I need. The second part regarding arm holes and shoulders went a bit too fast. Still confused. Love your video tutorials. Keep them coming.

I'm just watching it now and I am massively confused too. How do you not catch all the fabric when you are sewing the shoulders and armpits? I have fudged one side, but have a massive gap at the shoulders as I just cannot join them without catching either the front section, or the back section. Any help anyone? This has been frustrating me all day and no matter what video I watch, or how I try to work it out in my head, I just cannot work out how to move the fabric out of the way enough to sew with a 5/8" seam allowance right at the top of the shoulders?????!!!
