So pathetic... maybe if what you mean by pathetic is realistic... then yeah you got it bro :)
"it just sounds pathetic" Bro, 30/40 year olds have youtube channels too. A lot of the audience grew up with youtube. My channel is probably older than you.

Dude that's inspiring to hear and something that I've experienced myself as well. Maybe a hugely underestimated benefits of the rings is that you manipulate your hands to work within limits (or injuries) nice share.
While this is super effective I'd argue that having paralettes and pushing weights through that deep stretch yet a little more stable than rings it helps you more with strength and size since being more stable allows for more force production. I'd definitely say the rings and paralettes would go nicely hand in hand :D Pushing the weighted paralette push ups with emphasis on the stretch and combining it with the ring push ups for stability has allowed me to keep a 140kg+ bench press even tho I have not touched a bench press in over 5 years. Weighted calisthenics are truly underrated, a lot of people think they're too strong for calisthenics when the truth is most are nowhere near their full potential when it comes to calisthenics exercises. Just my 2 cents :D Great video as always!
love that bro. And I agree a stable surface will be better for max power production. Though it's hard to beat that bit of shoulder adduction from the rings while coming up for the pecs! Inspiring to hear the bench is maintained with pushups!
Glad to hear all this as I split my sets between weighted parallels and weighted rings! I can definitely push more on stability: i am just cracking weight on ring dips but can do sets of 8 with a16kg bell on bars) And at 43 I dig some of this other age related discussion threads
Interesting point for sure. Stability does seem to be a determining factor in greater strength. One could argue that the slight loss of power output due to instability is more than made up for by the greater recruitment of stabilizers in the ring movements. Interesting thing to think on for sure either way.
@@ericmalitz Agreed it is interesting! I think you gotta experiment to see what feels good for yourself, as this kind of thing is too fickle to actually do a study on.

Super helpful as always! I would love to see a similar video but for neck strength. All this screen time has the front of our necks so overdeveloped that the back weakens severely, causing nerve damage, jaw pain, TMJ, neuralgias, and pain.
I would say no matter what age you are, progressive ring pushups and rows alone can be the bread and butter of your upper body training. Also, because with the rings you have an almost unlimited variety of progressions with archer style pushups and rows. You can experiment with different angles of the rings and your body to hit the muscles very hard. For me the archer or one arm ring rows hit the whole back, especially the lats much better than pullups. So, archer pushups are another viable progression if you don't want to add weight or simly don't have that option. Great video as always, cheers!
Was toying with the idea of putting archers in this video! I agree it's such an easy way to keep progressing without needing weight. Thanks for the share... a good topic for another video for sure.
Got a set of rings about a month ago, having great fun with them. I'm not able to do a full regular pullup yet, and can only do about 7 reps regular pushups. But I've got the rings set up in my home office, and thru the day (usually every couple hours, alternating with squats/lunges) I'll go do a set of inclined ring pushups or rows. Setting the angle/incline so 10 reps is close to form failure. Its a slow build, but I've been noticing improvements, and that is the fun part.
Love hearing this and sounds like you're already making good progress. I'm sure if you add in some Pullup negatives (even with the feet on the ground) you'll have chins/pullups before you know it.
This is just phenomenal advice and will certainly be of benefit if you implement it into your programs. I've found that as I get closer to 50 I can't go hard on all my exercise days. I need a day in the week where I train with less weight and then do more reps. I can see that the rings would be a great tool for me.
Good advice 👍 I really enjoy dips and pushups on the rings, it just feels the resulting strength might be more useful for real life challenges. Age shaming? don't be soft! Not sure how old you are... but most influencers are young and in their 20's. I'm closer to 40. I'm making content for my age range, showing you can get the work done from home, minimal time, minimal effort. Try being 40 with kids watching a jacked 20 year old show his 2 hour morning routine and 3 hour gym session followed by a sauna and cold plunge sesh. It ain't realistic. People need content for their stage in life. so age shaming.... more like age glorifying my man.
@@Strengthside I get it now. Thanks. I'm around the same age as you
@0:55 Cute baby, most likely getting some early inspiration while cheering you on!
@9:36 Super calisthenics program makes me sweat atrocious!
thanks :)
Got rid of the hot tub?
haha nice eye. Something new going in there :)

30’s and 40’s WTF? I’m 67 and one of the very few people that use the rings at my gym. My doctor told me a decade ago people my age couldn’t gain muscle mass. He’s full of 💩. I changed Doctors.

Year two of following this channel. Still waiting for a video for women. 😂 Any hope?
my content is for everyone! no gender specifications
@@Strengthside Most of women do not want to grow big shoulders and chest. What shall we do?
@@MissEugeniaS trust me, you won't. you'll just get stronger. My wife does these exercises and is petite as they come.
But to your original question, no I probably won't every make a video "for women" because I'm not one 😂plenty of great women teachers out there! Check out SummerFunFitness
@@MissEugeniaS
As a women I do all of these workouts and I’m tone and heckuh strong but not “manly” it’s pretty hard to get to that point as a women.
@@AlyssaBenson-tv4ex thank you for sharing. I was concerned because i did start growing shoulders when started doing pushups regularly, and it was stopping me from continuing. I assume the issue was in the type of pushups but i couldn't figure what exactly i should do. I guess it'll be a trial and error method.
Very bad shoulder move. Your pushing your schouder out of the pocket. Risk of ripping.
Looks more like you instant jumped on TRT after getting 2 kids
I would hope I'd be a bit bigger if I did that. TRT may become interesting to me in mid to late 40's but got awhile before that
@@Strengthside TRT is usually used to counterbalance the dropping testosterone from aging not necessarily to build huge amounts of muscles. But the change in the video looks exactly how TRT would effect your muscles. But obviously youtubers usually are not honest about usage.
@@yoyoyooo4735mate, I can understand your viewpoint, but I don’t agree with you. Did you look at the amount of time? It’s a very realistic natural progression, of course there is still a chance of usage but it’s very unrealistic with the amount of time allocated to training and to especially flexibility based/focused training. And what do you mean that his chest looks exactly like people on TRT? There is no biomechanical changes in relation to the shaping or ‘look’ of a muscle and drugs. The reason people on trt look different is usually for other reasoning. Also with the reasoning of TRT ‘not helping with muscle growth’ you need to look at other examples of people in the fitness industry, lots of people are ‘just on TRT’ and there a lot lot more muscular in way way less time… 6 years to look the way he does while not focusing directly on hypotrophy is really good and a very natural progression, honestly he probably could’ve gotten to it earlier but that’s not the point. I hope you’re having a good day, and please tell me if I’m wrong. Hope to have a nice conversation about this if you’re willing, that is?
@@yoyoyooo4735bro there was 7 yrs btwn those videos. Totally reasonable amounting gains for anyone w decent training and consistency.
@@yoyoyooo4735 Or just 8 years of steady progressive overload. Who knew training consistently actually works. Thanks for the compliment but no, I'm not on TRT.
Anything is possible with the power of steroids
TO THIS!! you look huge but the image is a little squashed too 🫶🤭
haha it's a good angle, good lighting, but no editing distortions I swear it on my name.
Thanks!
