Please do this with more cars! It's really interesting to see claimed vs real power, torque and weight figures. Maybe you could do some hot hatches next?
Problem is that dynos do not give absolutely correct power figures. You can only really compare cars tested on the same dyno, they can be compared to each other. But the figures cannot be compared to other figures tested on a different dyno. Sure, there are probably some very well calibrated dynos, operated in very certain, controlled temperature and air pressure to give really accurate figures, but these tuner shop dynos probably aren't.
every dyno is different. Putting all 4 cars on the same dyno on the same day really put things into perspective in terms of how the power level of each car differs. Great video!
The crazy thing is the measured power is to the wheel which is not how horse powers are advertised. They are supposedly measured on an engine dyno. So I would add an extra 10 percent to what is being shown.
What they might (!) have done is to measure the weakest output number in relation to the marketed number (Audi RS6) and 1) first corrected it with some coefficient to make it seem like it produced the claimed power (600hp) all along (to avoid reputation damage to any of the manufacturers) and then 2) used the same correction factor (coefficient) for all the other cars as well.
@@conor7154 they have a different way of measuring it then we do. 99 Ron is between 94 and 95 octane. Or so they say. The whp numbers measured here are about the same as 93 octane in the US and all of these cars would produce more power on the stock tune with higher octane.

They need to run in 4th so the gearing ratio is 1/1. All cars are ran in 4th beacause of that(or whatever gear has the 1/1 ratio). This way the reading is most accurate.
First of all, this is what I always wanted to see ie the real power figures of these awesome cars so thanks Carwow for this one. And yes the Beemer always will be on top in performance!
Definitely need more of these dyno comparisons! I'm a bit skeptical of their calibration of Flywheel HP when reading off of the drive wheel, but seeing the differences is great. When compared to other manufacturers the Germans seem to always underrate their cars. From my testing, I find the RS6 to be around 625hp at the flywheel. But there are so many factors. Were all cars on equal octane fuel? Nonetheless a very cool comparison!
Exactly what I’m wondering. I’m not very familiar with dyno systems, but I know the drivetrain losses would different between AWD/RWD/FWD and other factors like weight of all the drivetrain components affecting whp. Curious to know how the computer converts back to bhp
@@chinqlinq89 There's no universal rule of thumb (that's accurate) for drivetrain loss. Varies depending on transmission, differential, clutch vs planetary gear traditional automatic, etc. etc.
Since it is in Europe it is either octane 95 or 98, so the octane levels aren't that different and probably will not affect the numbers as much. Sometimes you can find 101 but that is a real rarity.

I´m guessing the Audi had that much overweight due to the panoramic roof and that the BMW weighted less because of the carbon roof Edit: same story with the Porsche and the panoramic roof

@@exclusiveautos6770 I wish to see you drag race with Mat soon with the R34 :)
The BMW M cars didn't disappointed whenever you put in the race or comparison or etc . Fan OF BMW M cars. 💪🏻🔥
Love seeing this kind of thing 👍🏻 very interesting to see actual numbers like this
Brilliant vid as always. Good to see the RS6 getting hammered as usual! Every time it's on Carwow it comes in last!
Interesting idea Mat to do this kind of test, hopefully it will motivate the car makers to go the right direction.
Unless they intentionally put lower grade fuel in the tank (not likely) then they'd all be on the same premium gas/petrol.
Awesome video! My 2020 M5 Comp was a monster stock…Now it’s tuned to over 800 crank hp, and will tie an Aventador SVJ in the 60-130! They’re pretty amazing cars.
You claim to have every car in the carwow videos🤡 post some videos them dummy. Claims to have a gt3 Mr and a 800 crank hp M5 and even said he has a 296
@@6ft7guy I never claimed to have a 296. Get it right. Just the tuned M5 and some Porsches…
@@BertrandDussert show them then what was that shit you was claiming again gt3mr gt2rs 800crank M5 and a 296
@@6ft7guy again, get it right. I never claimed to have a 296. All the others are correct. Some of the cars have pics on the community tab of my channel, and the rest are all over instagram, including one reel with almost a million views. I don’t need to prove anything to you or anyone else. Nice knowing you.
Awesome day out , amazed and great to see the results of the Dyno! didn't expect some of the results that's for sure. Oh and AMG over BMW , sorry Bmw fans 😂🙌🏽
Mercedes power 😊
Nice job
Peak hp and peak torque are only a small part of the story.
In order to get a better insight you should calculate the surface beneath the both hp and trq graphs and also calculate the graphs slope before and after the peak
Exactly, so many people don't understand that you need to integrate the power curve.
Most accurate comment here
You should put the Mclarens 720s and the 765LT to the dyno.
720S = 700whp. 765LT = 760whp
@@Luke-cb3ly nope someone tested the 765lt to 800+ HP deleted video
@@snm1786 WHP!!!!! Not HP. 760WHP!!!! = 830+hp
@@Luke-cb3ly oh i didnt see that
@@Luke-cb3ly no but in reality mclaren 755
Great video Matt. More like this 👍
BMW 😍😍😍
This video is awesome! Please do more of them and then take them to drag strip! Well done Matt and the carwow team another brilliant video!
Let's talk 💌💌👆
Great! Definitely brilliant video! More please!
One of the best videos I have ever watched! Quite surprised by how much torque E63S has. Nevertheless, BMW will gain the most from a simple ECU tune. The only concern is that the weight may fluctuate according to the car's extras - panoramic roof, soft close, ventilation, heating, etc.
Another great drag race from carwow 👌💪
Nice format, please do this with every car on your reviews 😍
Please do more of these. Would love to see some tire tests too.
I´m guessing the Audi had that much overweight due to the panoramic roof and that the BMW weighted less because of the carbon roof
Edit: same story with the Porsche and the panoramic roof
Good shout, glass is much heavier, if it has sliding parts or covers that’ll add more weight.
The glass roof don't weight 140kg more, i think the claimed weight is the dry weight...
The M5 always comes with the carbon roof. You can opt it out with the glass roof tho
The E63 has a panoramic roof…
@@johnguidetti5839 yeh and also it's an saloon duh.......... if audi brought back saloon version of the RS6 c8, weighing less, lol it would have been diff story to bmw and merc ;)
Nice to see Affi here!
Tell him to bring the r34 to dyno 😁
