Rijnlandroute: N434 Corbulotunnel & N206 Tjalmaweg | New infrastructure (NL)

The Rijnlandroute project is an infrastructure project in the west of the Netherlands, in the province of South Holland, in the vicinity of the city of Leiden. The project is named after the river Oude Rijn. The project consists of three sub-projects: 1) the widening of the Tjalmaweg, part of the N206; 2) the construction of a new road (N434) between the A4 and A44 motorways south of Leiden, including a new tunnel; 3) the optimization of the Europaweg in the east of Leiden. The first two sub-projects were completed in the summer of 2023 and the summer of 2024, respectively. The third project will start in November 2024 and will be completed at the end of 2027.
In the video, we drive the route from Leiden-Oost to Katwijk and back via the newly constructed N434 including the Corbulotunnel and the Tjalmaweg, widened to 2x2 lanes, along Valkenburg.

Het project Rijnlandroute is een infrastructuurproject in het westen van Nederland, in de provincie Zuid-Holland, in de omgeving van de stad Leiden. Het project is vernoemd naar de rivier Oude Rijn. Het project bestaat uit drie deelprojecten: 1) de verbreding van de Tjalmaweg, onderdeel van de N206; 2) het aanleggen van een nieuwe weg (N434) tussen autosnelwegen A4 en A44 ten zuiden van Leiden inclusief een nieuwe tunnel; 3) het optimaliseren van de Europaweg in het oosten van Leiden. De eerste twee deelprojecten zijn opgeleverd in de zomer van 2023 resp. de zomer van 2024. Het derde project start in november 2024 en wordt opgeleverd ultimo 2027.
In de video rijden we de route van Leiden-Oost naar Katwijk v.v. via de nieuwe aangelegde N434 incl. Corbulotunnel en de naar 2x2 rijstroken verbrede Tjalmaweg langs Valkenburg.
