    Yep the oxelo town 9 is an excellent scooter, I've been riding my one now for around 3.5 years and it's still going strong, it's had it's issues but nothing that can't be fixed.
    It's been all over the country with me and even abroad, it makes getting around much easier when on holiday.
    You need the bag or some means of covering it up else the planes won't take it, British airways will allow you to put it in as luggage but it will count as your luggage so if you have two bags make sure one is hand luggage else you will have to pay extra luggage fees, they class it as sports goods.
    It will carry upwards and over 130 kilos even though it's listed as a maximum way less I've had nearer 140 and probably a little more on occasion quite frequently actually.
    So far my scooter has never let me down, no sudden collapses or issues that you don't get warnings of.
    The hand brake pad will wear out obviously so a replacement metal pad will be needed over time, I've done lots of miles on my one, so it's starting to need more repairs now, but it has given me many hours of fun and great as a means of transport for the shorter journeys.
    Fantastic machine and I have recommended it to lots of people purely based on my own experience with it.
    The only real down side to it is, we are not legally allowed to have the electric one they produce, (but then that goes for all electric scooters) I would buy that without hesitation, superb product.
    It's a little heavier and larger than a lot of other scooters but you can tell it's made specifically for adults so it's tough.
    Will need to buy new wheels soon as they are pretty worn down.

    I was in ties between purchasing the latest version of this model or the Oxelo Commuter 900. I decided to get the Commuter 900 because it was slightly smaller, slightly lighter, and less bouncy, yet still has a shock absorber. I think the town 9ef ev is also great, and seems to be more popular with people as it’s been out for many years. But I’d say give the C900 a try at the shop too, and compare for your personal taste. I think double suspension on a scooter is a bit much and takes a little something away from the whole experience as well as speed. I feel more in contact with the ground on my new C900 model than I did with my older one that had full suspension. I think a single shock absorber is just right, as when I had double suspension, I think some energy of the pushing got lost due to the oscillation from the springiness, so less suspension definitely helps with speed and overall responsiveness in my opinion :)

    I've just bought the current one from Decathlon. The grips now have push button release and fold down, they no longer plug into the stem with elastic rope between them. Oh, manufacture is now China and no longer France I'm afraid.... Good review by the way P.S. I'm a fat git and weigh 108kgs, these have a weight limit of 100kgs......Oops!

    • @Toyrider
      @Toyrider  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Good to know they have upgraded the handlebars to fold down. Glad you enjoyed the review. I'm sure it's strong enough to take a little more weight than 100kg. My model is also made in China but they say 'Designed in France'. Still, it's very well put together. Enjoy!

      @@Toyrider I took it up to Goole since writing the above, did probably 2-3 miles on it. The 108kgs of my bulk didn't seem to bother it but it couldn't help out with my lack of fitness! It is quite good exercise and I got a fair sweat on..........and good fun and gets you around surprisingly quickly. My ankles ache somewhat, it must be the scooting on alternate feet, hopefully they well get used to it 😊

  • @The_Tundra_
    @The_Tundra_ 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    Mate you’re special, look on the website, it’s a dual breaking system as the handbrake alone isn’t enough to stop at high speeds. Check the inside of it and you’ll find it’s hinged for braking and padded to prevent friction damage from being used at a break as it’s supposed to -.-

  • @zakpalmer
    @zakpalmer 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Hi this video is awesome and I've read your full review online, thank you. May I ask a question? It looks like just two nipple bolts hold the locking system in place. Do you think there's a chance the scooter could fold whilst in use?

    • @Toyrider
      @Toyrider  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Zak, This scooter has never folded on me or my son while in use and we have by now done a few hundred miles on it. The locking system is so strong when it clips in place. It's hard to describe the mechanism but the clips seem to be part of the frame at the front that extends over the front wheel. It's not that easy to fold away, you need to put a lot of pressure on the front button with your foot to fold the scooter, so that gives a lot of confidence that the clips are strong

    • @zakpalmer
      @zakpalmer 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for replying to me. Since my last comment 3 weeks ago, I bought the Town 9 in titanium... and it's fantastic! Its an upgrade on my previous cheaper scooter which I rode the back wheel off, and I've done a fair few miles on this new one already. I live in Kennington, London and I've seen a few other people on the same scooter around here, Elephant Castle and Brixton. I feel like I'm part of the cool 1st class adult scooter club now because this is such a decent scooter.

    As an owner of a Xootr MG Scooter for some years, I always feel an annoying rattling noise on uneven surfaces. It comes from the locking pin, mostly. I´m not at all expecting a scooter to be noise proof, or to be comfortable at rough pavements. However, I get a little bit disappointed whenever I´m towing it along, as it seems it´ll simply fall apart. How does this Oxelo perform in such field?

    • @Toyrider
      @Toyrider  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Luciano Zimmer Hi, the Oxelo does not rattle at the joint of the stem and the kickboard. The locking mechanism is very strong and tight with no locking pin. If anything rattles a little it's the handlebar grips which are push fit with a large locking button onto the handlebar. If that rattle got too bad it would be easy to fix by wrapping some tape around the handle grip tube.

    • @Toyrider
      @Toyrider  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Use the rear foot brake for hard braking. Use both front and rear brakes together for super-hard braking. The front brake by itself is not enough to stop the scooter except for slowing down.

    how about the hudora 205 - is it worth it - also there is razor air 5 with rubber tyres - are rubber tyres the best? please advise

    • @Toyrider
      @Toyrider  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sorry I'm late to reply to this comment. I would say that the rubber tyres are better if you will travel a lot in wet conditions and also off-road.
      Regarding the Hudora 205, I haven't seen one up-close but it looks like the handlebars for start will not be as good quality as this Oxelo, nor the handlebar grips. The folding mechanism is also not as sophisticated and you can't use it in trolley mode like this Town 9 . The Hudora 205 does look like an OK budget scooter though

    • @Toyrider
      @Toyrider  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi and glad you enjoyed my review! If the road on your commute is bumpy then the Oxelo Town 9EF would be better than the Razor A6 because the Oxelo has front suspension while the Razor A6 has no suspension at all. I hope that helps!

      No problem! If you are on a budget, I think the best scooter around for under $150 is the Exooter M2050 9XL. It has great reviews and dual suspension with a shoulder carry strap and an easy-fold mechanism. It is pretty much a replica of the Oxelo. You can see this Exooter here: amzn.to/2O2Jkq3

      Don't forget oxelo make an electric town 9 and that looks pretty nice, only thing is if you happen to be in the UK you can't have it cos the law says you can't.

    • @Toyrider
      @Toyrider  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's right, it's called the Oxelo Klick. As i understand it you can use an electric scooter on private land in the uk but not on the road or sidewalks

    • @flitsies
      @flitsies 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yep that's exactly right, they go on about pollution in the UK but then ban all the things that many people would love to make use of for the shorter journeys, some even for the longer journeys.
      But hey that's the UK for you.
      I have an electric scooter as well, but it had to conform to moped law it only manages to get up to around 20 mph so motorists get a bit impatient when i'm on the road, but hey it's not my fault, i'm not allowed to use cycle lanes or paths so I can only use the roads.
      I would have liked to get the oxelo electric klick it's not cheap, but i'm sure it would have been sturdy, but I know it won't conform to moped law so it would be a waste of time.
      I've tried complaining to the govt via email but as usual they simply don't listen to sense, perhaps it lot's of people complained they would have to take note and fix the problem.

    • @Toyrider
      @Toyrider  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I often ride the E-Twow S2 electric scooter in the UK. It look pretty much like a regular kick scooter, so I just pretend it is and use the cycle paths. Not got into any trouble with the law yet....

    lol I just think it's a tad sad that a scooter having an 'easy-fold' feature is a big selling point for adults. Are people really that physically unfit and weak by their forties and fifties?! It's really sad that people let themselves get so out of shape. If you can't bend over or do a single body weight squat, you probably shouldn't be riding a scooter at all. Perhaps go to the gym for a few months, do some yoga, and then think about doing something active like riding a scooter. If you're that out of shape you're much more likely to stack it because you just won't have the reflexes or flexibility to get yourself out of trouble. Man, I'm just shaking my head thinking people are like "Oh wow, it has an easy fold feature, I'll get that one". Genuine scooter riders would be absolutely cringing.

      ...yeh...because that makes sense doesnt it.
      The majority of adult scooter riders want the quick fold for popping in and out of shops, or perhaps keeping up with their own kids on a scooter then you need to quickly fold it up and chuck it in the car, theres just two examples, you utter tool

      It’s so much more than just a folding mechanism though, you can lean the whole scooter on it when folded up whilst standing in the tube or wherever. As opposed to standing it on a wheel which will slide everywhere
