All of these videos seem like common sense. I think that speaks to Will's teaching prowess. I find myself thinking "of course I'd do that, what else would I do". But of course, that's not the case at all. He himself said "it took me 10 years to figure this out" for a lot of stuff
Yeah, its really a transistion going from steep to flat, my Scottish climbing instructor always taught us to put protection, right at the top of the steep part, and I have seen it commonplace, good to know why.
Any advice for down climbing ice bulges, for places like thos? The first couple of bulges always trip me out. I just drive my picks in then slowly work my body down til I get good feet
Will is a treasure. All the experience and knowledge and the ability to teach others. So rare. We must protect Will at all costs.
love gadd's sound effects :)
Me too! That's actually what happens in my head when I climb. Wooosh, baaamm, shlaack!
me too, they are briliant

Great Videos. It is great to get his long experience with his kind of humor. Thanks for sharing.

These videos are great! I’m learning so much, and tips like these are the improvements I didn’t even know I should make
Avoid fish fornication, got it. 🤙
Nice one Will, made to look easy!
Excellent
No "fish fornication" at the bulges - Got it!
I was thinking, this was missing
Came here after playing The Shadow of the Tomb Raider. Wanted to see the real ice climbing.🤭

Practice on a TR, once you get the moves dialled it's not too bad!
