  • In this tutorial I explain what tools you need and how you can use your wheel sensor cable to work with your rally tripmaster like the RNS XL Tripmaster, RNS GFX or ICO MAX-2 and older ICO models. This trick is pretty simple and works not only on the KTM / Husqvarna but also on Beta and other bikes where the only difference is the connector you will have to crimp.

    Really helpfull vlog, I suck at making electric cables and its connections so this really helped with some cool tricks. Keep on going Manuel 😁

    Great video as always. I also use 2L heat shrink. 2 layer has a layer of hot glue inside the heat shrink to seal it from the elements. The 1L is more flexible when completed, but I still use the 2L for most motorcycle situations. Keep up the awesome vids!

    The speed mode also exposes a test segment (lowest segment left digit) that lights up when the magnet closes the contact. It is included especially for this test purpose and shows you how big the angle is where the magnet energises the reed contact. You want at least 10 degrees of wheel rotation, better 20 and the segment must not flicker.

    You can also make a Y cable, so both the tripmaster and oem speedometer will work with only the oem wheel sensor.

      Have you got any images of this? I don’t really want to lose the bikes service/usage history 👍🏼

      @@TheJerseyBiker you just have to make a Y cable to distribute the signal of the wheel sensor to both the OEM dashboard and the RNS/ICO tripmaster.

      Have you done this? I wonder if there is any power going down those cables from either the RNS or OEM.

      @@pass1985 Yes, of course, I use this on my rally bikes with no problem. No power is going down on those cables.

      @@tamascrosscountryadv5426 thank you! Rockstar, I was thinking the same, such a simple thing that there must be a reason why he didn’t do it. But I guess there wasn’t. Just one more question, does it matter the positive and negative? He just plugs them back without mentioning anything.

    This makes me wonder; Would it be possible to use the a Trailtech Vapor sensor cable? It has the same plug. And as far as i now the sensor works the same?

    Can you do a split on the sensor wire so original odometer works whit the tripmaster?

    Early on you make a comment about not zip tying the cable at the fork - can you clarify what you mean?

    • @ManuelLucchese1
      @ManuelLucchese1  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      When you use zip ties on the sensor cable 99% you will quickly break the sensor cable as inside very thin wires go through

    Ciao Manuel , perché non ripetere il segnale dal sensore invece che portarlo solo al trip ? Sdoppiare l'uscita dal sensore e portarlo in entrambi (OEM e RNS ) non sarebbe stato utile nel caso si dovesse smontare il kit per vendita o altro ?

    • @ManuelLucchese1
      @ManuelLucchese1  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ciao, infatti per questo ho fatto questo adattatore cosi che una volta che uno deve smontare la strumentazione può rimettere il cavo nel conta km originale. Nei rally è sempre meglio avere meno cavi e meno cose possibili quindi per questo non ho sdoppiato il cavo però è sicuramente una possibilità anche se molti hanno 2 trip quindi comunque alla fine se lo sdoppiano lo usano per i 2 trip.
