Great Greg, thanks. I wanted to do this in ‘23 but couldn’t get a GPS power lead for the one event I was available for. You have reinvigorated my enthusiasm to try for next season.
Thank you so much for sharing this video. I'm gonna participate in this road book format rally for the first time and l'll be using just 2 mobiles. One with the trip meter app and the other with the pdf roadbook.Your video is gonna help me a lot ! Thanks once again!
Fantastic video Greg. Have applied to do Kielder next year, this is really helpful. I think I will use the spare channel on my Denali Can-Smart to connect a plug for the GPS transponder.
Thank you for this, this looks like a really fun type of event! I suppose I could possibly have guessed this is how the rallybooks work, but I was never sure and always curious. Thanks for breaking it down for guys like me. It makes sense now and looks really fun.
Great vid Greg - I’ve done both of the Wales events this year and am signed up for the second Kielder event next week - can’t encourage peeps to have a go enough as it’s bloody ace!!
Good info & vid👍 I did my 1st rally in September at the Wales500...hooked, it was great and met some great people - saving up my cash to go again in 2022😁👌
I"m looking at entering the 2024 event. I've got a GS and a CRF, but I'd rather do it on the CRF. Is there anything to consider in choosing which bike?
Hi @aidanreilly5469 people do the rallies on all kinds of bikes, it's down to personal preference. It might be worth you having a look on the RallyMoto website and reading about the particular event you'd like to take part in, to find out more about the terrain etc: rallymoto.co.uk/ Thanks
Hi there, thanks for watching! I'll have to check with the riders but from what I can see, looks great. We'll add a link to your TH-cam on the video Thanks
This is a very cool video for beginners - really well explained. No fairy tales or “heroic deeds” described. If there were more honest videos like this, the understanding of Rally Raid would be much better.
Thanks Greg, that was a really useful video. Especially with regards to the wiring loom. Was hoping to do the iom500 before Covid hit. This has reignited the fire. 👍 keep well.
Great information Greg! Keen for ago at roadbooks-but with your phone as a trip does the screen keep going off back to lock?? Or the App stop that happening. Was going to buy some Adv Spec kit but seems more options on the horizon are coming.
@@adventurespec Thanks Greg!! I downloaded the F2R Rally trip meter app prior and that still blacked out when using, but I will get that now. Great products you guys offer!! I'm going to go head to toe in Adventure Spec
Great video, very helpful! I'm booked in for my first event with Rallymoto at the end of October, would you have a link for the Garmin Mount adapter? Thanks
Great, hope you have fun! The only links I have are at the bottom of the video so I'll have to double check with Greg, but having a google might be quicker
For this setup I did not require any waterproofing on the phone as it was not raining. Plus the iPhone is water resistant. However, if you did want something more robust something like this might do the job - ultimateaddons.com/pages/motorcycle-accessories
@@adventurespec fantastic, many thx. The UA cases look to be a good option - they claim allows charging without breaching watertight integrity (we'll see). I've used UA before for Go Pro mounts and they are a good quality product.
Hi and thanks for your Video. Some Question: I want to run a RB850 and I want to use my Mobile for the Tripmeter. Do you know any App that is working with the Carpe Iter Controller for Trips only? I see you have the Attachement Part for the Controller on the left Handlebar
Great Greg, thanks. I wanted to do this in ‘23 but couldn’t get a GPS power lead for the one event I was available for. You have reinvigorated my enthusiasm to try for next season.

Great overview! Certainly lots of Adv Spec kit out there... Says a lot. Loving the old bikes out that weekend.

The RallyBlitz App prevents the phone from going to screen lock. It's a good bit of kit.

Great video for a newbie, Thanks
Thanks for checking it out!
Really helpful Greg, many thx. One question. How do you waterproof your phone for rain and stream/ford crossings in this setup?

What app did you use for the trip meter on the mobile phone??
What do you think using a tablet with roadbook app? Would that be sturdy enough for rally?
Contact us here and someone in the office with rally experience will get back to you: www.adventurespec.com/contactus
Thanks
What about a eroadbook?
so what class i should start for beginner ? looks fun
Take a look at the RallyMoto website or drop them a message for guidance - rallymoto.co.uk/
Well I just bought a 750GS and fell down the TH-cam rabbithole. Rallymoto looks fascinating for someone like me - definitely a total amateur
Great! I think you will enjoy it!
In reply to myself, I'm doing the tarmac Cannonball with Rally Moto in June. Can't wait.
Great stuff@@nigelmtb good luck with it!
