It depends on the harness that you use. Run&Fly works well with any light "string" harnesses, where you can attach a light rescue in the front container (please see Sit&Fly260 harness with a dedicated front container). Rescues nowadays weights even less than 1kg.
Sure there will have been some who had flights where they wish theyd carried a reserve, same with speed riders. Its obviously taking more risk, but flying is risky anyway and many would call plastic bag pilots silly no matter what. Its not a rational thing to call it. There have been many MANY more people who have had numerous excellent flights in smooth air and never come close to needing one. As Karol points out there are silly times to fly but on the other hand if you are prepared and experienced, flying only on calm days, better still, you also know the area and the local influences, its going fine for many of us, but its also fine if you choose not to. Personally Im about to invest in another lightweight reserve so that I can keep a front mount handy for days like this one (or ski+fly missions). I dont think the extra kg+space will make the missions impossible! Its not much if it saves your life 🤷♂️ But yes, combined with enough experience in general, and good piloting, the extra risk is minimal with a 0.something chance that you would end up in the scenario of needing one either way. Just think how many people go years and years of rough XC flying and never even need one.. 🙏✌

Run&Fly2 was not designed to be a reserve chute and definitely should not be used for this purpose
