I'm really surprised they don't use more models like this in movies. I would think compared to CGI this would be pretty cost effective, and the footage would obviously be way more realistic since it's real footage of a real aircraft.
I always thought the same thing! The models these days are fantastic and look way better than that overused CG crap. You could use electric planes too and dub in the engine sounds and you would never know. Models on screen just have that "depth and texture" of sort, you get what I am trying to say.
Modern model turbine engines have an after-run auto cool down powered by the starter motor. Bit different to my old gas and compressed air start turbines that did need bursts of compressed air to get the temps down. The landing will have cooled the jet pipe already (twin wall).
@@ColinDyckes , I'm not speaking as an experienced jet model pilot but I have no interest in the electric jet engines, they don't even sound authentic. I'm impressed with this gentleman's piloting prowess, very impressed, for what it's worth.
@@BobbyTucker Umm.. That's a genuine small gas turbine, not electric. To me the sound of them is extremely life like (and loud). Exact noise depends on the tailpipe. I had a split tailpipe on my F15 that sounded great. Electric 'ducted fan' models do sound very unrealistic but they can be very fast.
Nice plane but please get rid of the flashers on the back. Makes it look cheaper! and I really don't think there's anywhere he can pull over off the side of the road. Hehehehe lol
If they can make a plane of those dimensions and make it fly, then they should make one of those where a person can sit inside and fly it for short distances. Since they are doing that and investing their money, do it well, well that is my opinion.
Impressive!! Yes a B variant one day maybe. I’ve been following Joel. Building one of them but probably will use Eric Magilio’s hardware from Lofted Aero. He’s the only one that transitions regularly.
@@schnka well, Joel is member at our club so I get to see his regularly, sadly it got messed up a few days ago, something got in the front EDF, lots of damage and repairs
Always absolutely hated the l.e.d. "afterburner" lights. even worse, they flicker. real afterburners don't flicker. Ruins an otherwise beautiful scale aircraft.
It is the best F-35 model I have seen so far.!!!
No B model with STOVL? Lame! jk, this thing is beautiful!
@@jondrew55 someone made one with working vtol

Dude, That thing is insane!
Got the RAM coating pretty spot on. Great job to the builder and the pilot did well also. Thanks for sharing.
Beautiful model, I was surprised how quickly the jet was shut down after flying. Usually nice to let the temps stabiliser before stopping the jet.

The LED on the back ruins it
Pretty bad-ass!👍👍
Awesome stuff
Where did you purchase this model turbine F-35 jet
Wow, very realistic!

beautiful Plane, Always that guy in the background that wont shut up
Is the old guy blinker standard ? He was pretty quick to get off the grass 😊
That was awesome. Thanks for sharing and the great camera work.
Awesome Mike! Good job with that F-35

Amazing but man it looks like it really doesn’t like to fly…..experts only!
cool f35 rc video
is it metal? is it balsa wood? curious
Beautiful f35
Awesome
Now to arm it🙂🙂🙂🙂
can we get more information for this jet?
How long did it take to build the plane?
How stealth is it?
So beautifull

There are 3 versions of the F35, and only 1 can hover.
@@52Quantum Yes! The F-35B, the rarest version.

Scratch built?
No, it’s a T-One kit
@@kolbevilla for a kit the vertical stabs look very small
What would make it more incredible if it actually took off and hovered like a real f at thirty five? Then I would be impressed
This one is like the full scale but based on the A variant, Joel vlashof made a smaller EDF powered B version, super cool model

The flicker is from the camera shutter and the refresh rate of the led… thought you would know this..
