Great Vid Richard made me want to pack a bag and fly out instantly. Carol looked to be having fun on the water slide so not all a loss for her, but yes would have been nice for the duo on screen. On the topic of ride along and Carol not a massive fan, well if you would like company on any rides north of the midlands Im up for the ride, call it a mini ride out nothing big like the likes of Veda or Tpot.

Gran Canaria is a great destination for riding bikes powered and non powered. There are fantastic roads all over the island. The mountain roads carving up and down huge steep valleys in the centre are spectacular. Great climate all year round. Thanks for sharing your holiday, brings back fond memories.

I wasn't sure I would like it with it's 21" front wheel. In the end, it suited me as a big bloke. Comfortable and powerful (not Rocket 3 powerful!) It was fun to ride

Enjoyed the rest of the video . years ago went to Belgium and Holland with a club ,about 20 bikes some 2 up .we were on our then Honda Pan European s t 1100 . were in the Federation of Sidecar clubs and they were a nice lot of people . The weather there looks superb . we hope you had a lovely break .

Yep, shame Carol wasn't riding with me. I'm always cautious riding with new people. You will see I mostly kept a reasonable gap to the person in front. All the riders in this group turned out to be good and safe.
Some great views from the saddle here, your leader certainly has the right Mantra about not cutting corners, it's all to help keep you safe, should be every rider and driver's saying though to be honest. I see it was a manual gearbox, wonder if that was just so that you could give a little rev bomb in the tunnels! I was so glad I was viewing that glass balcony whilst holding firmly onto my kitchen table! Enjoyed that, thank you for the ride.

Thanks Richard. I've not seen an MT10 out there yet. There's not many roads on the island you could stretch it's legs but it would certainly be fun. Restraint required along that coast road as many people have died riding it. I've not yet tucked up my bike, I was riding it yesterday. It needs a deep clean and ACF for the winter. That's not a bad temp to ride👍 It's been below freezing here in England for a few days, its got warmer now but torrential rain. Definitely not riding weather. Its why lots of guys from the UK like to fly south to these islands just off Africa. Appreciate you watching from the USA
It looks a great place to ride. I was trying to plan a trip there for this week as my wife in new York. I was hoping to be there for 5 days and riding for for 3 but couldn't get return flight unless stayed for the whole week, I would have been bored on the days not riding as don't do the sitting around the pool or in the bar thing so stayed here decorating, how sad is that.
It was obvious that you were missing Carol, but Carol was oblivious and seemed to be having a mighty fine time without you 🤣 Given the choice of dry asphalt on two wheels, or floating around in puddles on inflatables, I’m with you 😎 What a cracking ride. I’m definitely up for a fly/hire 👍🏼

I think that coast road is my favourite of all the islands. Sadly it will be lost for ever when the new tunnels are completed (or only partially kept in places)
I unreservedly apologise if I have caused any offense that was never my intention. I confess I've not been watching any YT videos in over a month... motorcycling or otherwise....just needed a break and was watching 'other stuff' on catch up and stuff. I'm not sure if it's because of the rubbish weather or what, but I've not felt 'attached' to motorcycling this year, after I had to cancel my Yorkshire tour due to a problem with the bike (fork seals) and the weather. I don't do swimming pools either, as I get a Verruca pretty much every time I step anywhere near one. Which can be a problem if you are in the school swimming team.... 🙁 Chiropodists seemed to make a meal of it and take forever, so I usually ended up sorting them myself with nail clippers ...😲 I was right about one thing at least, Carol's not interested in any more group rides! 🤣🤣🤣 Girl after my own heart....me neither....and I've never done one! 🤣🤣🤣 Just as bad as Matlock Bath on a Sunday....🤣🤣🤣 PS I'm sure you enjoyed your ride.....from your voice did it sound like you enjoyed it as much as when you ride with Carol... ?? I'll let you decide... 😐
Absolutely no offence. Thought you called it quite well. I prefer to ride with Carol. I'm a more sensible rider when I'm with her. Hopefully, come some better weather in the spring, you will enjoy getting out on the bike again. I've put our bikes in their protective dome in the garage. Unless the weather is good I doubt we'll be riding again for a few weeks. Always appreciate hearing from you. Cheers

To be honest I didn't push the Africa Twin hard enough in the twisties to find the suspension limitations. I definitely preferred it to the NC750 that I rode last time. Out of all their bikes I've ridden, that was my favourite. Lovely engine and a great sound. 👍
So far, I've resisted testing one, just in case I like it too much! Would mean sacrificing my MT10 and XSR900 to buy it. But yes, that Africa Twin high position suits an aging tall fat guy like me👍

Have to say, I think I would have preferred to have spent the day with Carol and your lad.... I think Carol made the right choice, I'm pretty sure she would think that purgatory nowadays... If I'm honest, you didn't seem to be having much fun yourself without her riding with you. Take no notice of me, I'm antisocial, and ride by myself, but you guys are a duo, and if you're not riding with Carol you just don't sound 'yourself'. Maybe, family holidays, really should remain family holidays. Just sayin... (I've done the same myself when I was SCUBA diving 🙁)
It's the first time I've done a days riding without her for ages, so I get what you're saying. Carol organised this for me prior to going away. I honestly did enjoy my day. I'm not a swimming pool guy. I didn't even use our hotel pool. Carol prefers to be in control of the ride. Where we go, where we stop and just doesn't want to do any more group rides. We did enjoy exploring the island with the hire car (in the pinned comment) The group I rode with were an already established group who knew each other, so I was kind of the outsider at lunch and rest stops. Plenty more normal service joint rides in the planning stages. 👍 Good to hear from you. Thanks

I honestly did enjoy my day. I'm not a swimming pool guy. I didn't even use our hotel pool. Carol prefers to be in control of the ride. Where we go, where we stop and just doesn't want to do any more group rides.
We did enjoy exploring the island with the hire car (in the pinned comment) The group I rode with were an already established group who knew each other, so I was kind of the outsider at lunch and rest stops.
Plenty more normal service joint rides in the planning stages. 👍
