  • In this video, though I know it is a bit late and I am back in school. I develop black and white film using the lford Simplicity Starter Pack. This is a small bit of chemicals that allows a person to see if they like developing film. It appears to be very simple and at under 20 dollars is nice is you don't process many rolls of black and white film. I would say to check it out and see for your self. dont forget to comment, like and subscribe and check out my channel content for more.

If you haven't tried it yet, I'd highly recommend Rodinal developer. A pint bottle of Rodinal will develop dozens of rolls of film, diluted 50:1, so it costs just pennies per roll. I like that dilution because it'll do most films at about 11 to 14 minutes which is nice because then I am not rushed. And it's no problem if you don't shoot film very often because the shelf life of the undiluted Rodinal is pretty much forever.
For fixer, I use Ilford Rapid Fixer. I keep a 2000-ml jug already mixed at 4:1 dilution and it'll do many many rolls because it lasts a long time (typically I just use 400-800 ml per use and pour it back into the jug).
Try the Rodinal, though. I am sure you'll like it. Keep up the good work!
