I hope NASB2 makes some kind of revival as I've had a lot of fun with the game since it's launch. I just can't find online matches anymore as not enough people are playing it.

Considering buying and learning NASB 2 after watching it at platfight was surprisingly really cool to watch! Hoping it fills the void that mvs left me with
That's so awesome to hear! It was so fun to be next to so many amazing games and talk with each community. Had to have been my favorite part. Being able to watch melee top 8 then turn around and play some rivals while talking to Mvs and nasb players was just a treat.
I've always been fairly optimistic but for those who listen to me a lot, I definitely can sound pretty realistic/neutral as well. The experience at PlatFight genuinely was world changing for me. I feel like this game needed that event so much and it gave us everything we needed. Now we just need ways to convince players that this game is worth competing in. I'm not sure what can do that. But it's fun enough on its own for it to be worth it in my opinion.
@@CherrynasbI love your passion dude! I definitely felt like a lone advocator for NASB 2 in the Socal Smash Ult scene and I still want to host offline NASB 2 locals. I hope this has people, at least, try the game out and see for themselves. Most people haven't even tried the game out.
I think it's important for people to see passion first and the game second. People will love and respect passion far more than a game. It's been fun chatting with people about my life for the game and the road it's been on! Keep working on your local and do your best!@@Danlisto
I'm still hoping NASB2 makes a comeback! I have so many friends that are diehard SSBM or Rivals of Aether II fans that refuse to even try NASB2 out. For shame! Hot take: NASB2 is good, actually.
I've only just now bought this game as my partner bought me the entire Danny Phantom DVD set for Christmas (I'm so nostalgic for old cartoons I grew up with) so I decided to buy this on sale and wow I've been amazed. The discords are great, love seeing official communities for games like this (I'm looking at you Nintendo, why do you hate your players so much). Me and my partner invested in a GameCube last year so I finally tried melee, and it's kind of insane how much NASB2 resembles melee. I played the first one around the time it came out and it always felt a little too arcade-y for me, and after the train wreck that was the re-release of Multiverses (I still cannot believe how slow that game is, along with $20 skins) I was worried NASB2 would leave the same taste in my mouth. Boy was I wrong though, this game is great. It has such good pacing to matches, I don't understand how slime works at all yet (would be interested in seeing videos from you discussing stuff like that for newcomers to the game) but it seems really neat. The cast from what I've heard is pretty balanced (apparently Danny is hated though? In the competitive Discord anyways. And Jenny too? RIP my nostalgia driven picks I guess heh). The campaign is really what has hooked me right now though. I've never seen a rougelike platform fighter, it's so interesting and while I was sad when I found out Vlad was non-playable (I was hoping you would unlock him after beating the campaign), it's still such a fun mode that I'm still playing through on higher difficulties after beating it. All this to say that my moment of a nostalgic impulsive purchase has really paid off, maybe at some point I'll start doing joining tournaments or something. This game has really blown me away and I can tell that the devs and community really care about this game. Hopefully events like this will increase Nickelodeon's confidence in these sorts of endeavors.
Danny is more like the Fox melee of this game. (A #1 top tier) He's still cool tho. Jenny is fun (I play her a lot too!) she just can be anger inducing LOL. Def play who you love it's so fun.
@@Cherrynasb Yeah I've been having so much fun! Even when I get totally curbstomped in ranked it's still a lot of fun and I feel like I'm getting better. Also I just learned that the slime lets you cancel moves??? Like in Guilty Gear??? that's crazy good how is this game this goated. This is honestly probably the first time I've been into a game's mechanics enough to look up guides and stuff to get all the cool movement tech. Maybe the only other exception was when I tried to learn Luigi's zero-to-death in Ultimate but I gave up on that real quick. Trying to get my partner to play with me because she loved learning all the melee tech and unlike me has played Guilty Gear so this is right up her alley.
Got burnt by NASB1 being an unfinished full price release and never gave the second one a chance. Unless it gets bigger than rivals 2 i probably won't spend time on it.
I barely have any time to play and i can't justify adding another game to my limited free time. if it does blow up i'll jump on the bandwagon, but if it stays small I can't justify the commitment sorry
nasb 1 from what im aware of from beta testers was developed in around 3 months. gamemill kinda fucked everyone there. Nasb2 actually got some dev time at least (around 1 year) but that was still rushing it, not giving enough time to realistically add many characters from the old roster. Its been rough, but the game is in the best state its ever been.
- Gertie is similar to Captain falcon with fair being knee, bair being very similar, she has a gentlemans jab, up air, a falcon esche punch (more similar to donkey Kong punch). - Garfield is kinda like Falco & Fox put together - Norb (the yellow beaver) has Marth Fair, Dair, and Up Special - Dagget (the brown beaver) has Pikachu Up Smash, Up Air, Up throw, Down Smash, & Fsmash. - El Tigre is very spacie and is most similar to project M wolf. - SpongeBob is the closest you get in my opinion to a melee character in Mario. He's not 1 to 1 but has Mario fair & Doc Fair (in his Neutral Air Strong), doc Dair, Up Air, up throw, down throw, neutral special, Mario up special & back air. Plenty of other characters have stuff inspired from melee but nothing is 1 to 1 as all characters are pretty unique in their own way. They have spice from melee added to their unique flavor. - Gerald is similar to Samus with his charge shot, Fair being multi hit, up air being visually similar, up special being somewhat similar in function, and nair being very similar in look and function. Plup played Gerald when he played and genuinely it seemed like he was very at home with the character. - Nigel is the second most similar and he's similar to puff. Bair, Nair, Side special neutral special and down special are all the same. He's awesome and so cool and while similar to puff is far more fun, entertaining to watch, and hype.

Honestly, I think NASB2 should just have customizable input buffer like multiversus. I'm not really a big fan of that game AT ALL, but I do appreciate the fact that, after an update, they allowed you to manually modify it. That's really cool and I hope this game does that too in a future patch. I'm just glad this game is in a good spot and coming back, I love it so much.
