Ann and Sasha Shulgin in Conversation about Mescaline and MDMA

Sasha and Ann are two of my most beloved friends and while the loss of Sasha is heartrending, his gift to humanity has been immense, and will endure, not only as the wonderful philosopher-king that he was, but also for his deep revolutionary explorations of the relationship between chemistry and consciousness.
He was one of the great givers to humanity, and his legacy lives on as a unique friend and master alchemist, who, like Albert Hofmann, has contributed vastly to human happiness and to our understanding of the fuller potential of the human mind.
I cherish the wonderful times we have spent together -- camping together at Burning Man, visiting the Shulgin farm with its Aladdin's cave of alchemy, and when, for his 80th birthday, he came and stayed at Beckley Park, from where we travelled to visit ancient stones and many beautiful places.
While at Beckley we filmed this conversation with Sasha and Ann, which, by strange coincidence we had finally got around to editing when we heard the sad news of his death.
How much we will all miss his wonderful company: his jokes and his sincerity, his warmth, humility and generosity. We have lost a magnificent friend, an exceptional biochemist and a pioneering explorer of the deepest realms of human consciousness.
We have also lost an inspiring model of an extremely happy and productive partnership - the godparents of the psychedelic world - all my love goes out to Ann at this sad time.

MDMA and psychedelics can help people yet they can also destroy people.
Psychedelics can also be gateways to drugs such as heroin cocaine etc...which can be addicting and life altering destructive.
MDMA & other such psychedelics should never never never be legal nor wide open 24/7 available for public consumption.

Ethereal Catholic Psychedelics are very anti-addictive. They even help addicts find the psychological root of their problems and provides the courage to stop. Ibogaine can pretty much reverse opioid dependency. I am not going to bash you for your reply because I know this all a problem of the wrong information being available to the public.

Ethereal Catholic I disagree with you there.
I think the if they will be partially legal, it could be a usefull tool.
Every single time the state dicriminilize one substance, automatically shady dealers use cheap research chemicals and fool people into death...seizures...cognitive dificts, and the list is wide long.
So making it ilegal is not working.
I do think that natural compounds such as mescaline and psilocybin is far more interesting and worth investegating since they appear to heal to buddy instead of ruining it.
Even over time, and thus i think they should be more focused on than synthetic chemical.
