Great Job. You need a forestry mulcher quick change head to do some grooming of brush. Nice big trees being forestry cleaned reduces the forest fire hazards. Remove the under brush to prevent hot forest fires. Do you having drought periods with dry lightning? North & South Carolina have a high fire load of trash brush, making your forest at a higher risk of forest fires. Opportunity for more business & designs for new attachments. I have been thinking about multi-function heads.

That's a badass little machine! That articulating mechanism is dope AF. Perfect machine for that job. If you just had a standard excavator you would never be as efficient and so precise.

Ahhh... So the thumb does not work when you have the rotating grading bucket on? I hadn't picked that up before. And so clever how you filled in the ditch starting upstream, and then worked backwards clearing a sort of moving coffer dam so you worked in the dry. It made for some _very_ tidy grading of the new ditch profile. You really are very good at this. We shouldn't be surprised I suppose, but you do continue to impress.
Yes indeed, I also wish people in my area did work like that also!! I am in the construction business and ever once in a while need a excavated big and small to do a job as I have a skid steer to clean up after them. Its so hard in any field to get people to take pride in what they do!!! Not saying there not out there,, but it's like winning a scratch off ticket, far and few.
Just spent a week in a Mini Cat 303.5E redefining ditches. Boy was it a test of experience. Having only ran a mini excavator one time before and that was dredging a retention pond. This was a true test. I only managed to dig my grade a little too deep in one section and that was because it was already a low lying area. Backfilled and threw a 6inch pipe in and it flows very nicely now. All in all around 35 hours in the machine.
I just woke up after talking a small nape and figure out why it is that's making people fall asleep and it's because of the sounds from the machines and starring at the buckets moving back and forth and side by side 👍🇺🇸
Always good to watch u do these . Not a lot of us have a eye for gradding work and making things flat or a Minot pitch over a long span . I get overly used at my job for this skill . Out of 6 of us their working I can't be the only one , but I am . . However we all got hired for are skill set's not just labor. . Dig on Chris 💪✔
In New Zealand our grading buckets are titled by a hydroelectric cylinder and it that means it’s not as far down as that one and nice job on the ditch if you want a photo I’ll send you one

2:34 I loved the magazine at the doctor's office called Highlights For Children. There was a page where you had to find items hidden within a picture. In your case, I found a hidden black corrugated drain pipe in the ground (pictured above your bucket). I win! =P
I pulled the fuse on my drive alarm. Was driving me in sane working by myself in small residential blocks. I think mini excavators need a switch or volume control.
Swale is there for a reason, most likely elevated land at one end of this swale. This will avoid flooding of roadways and homeowners properties during thawing or rain . Properties at lower elevations usually always need a way to divert water.
Nice video Chris. Always like the videos featuring the new yanmar especially when you’ve got the “steel wrist” or whatever you wanna call that attachment on the bucket. Couple questions, why not use the thumb when grabbing the brush? Does the steel wrist attachment not allow you to use the thumb, maybe due to its extra length?
You definitely have the right attachment for the Job Chris. What make tiltbucket is that? Looks like it has a lot more rotation than the one that Cat makes. As always nice work👍🏻
Look for a tilt bucket with actuator (hydraulic turn motor) like the one he is using, it gives you 180 degree radius as opposed to the hydraulic cylinder type that don't give you as much tilt capability and they "wobble" more.
I think if he would stay on this little machine and get him a bob cat and little dump truck he could make his self a heck of a little company. I watch a guy that runs one of these things every day and he can pick your nose if u stand still

I am guessing because takeuchi does not manufacturer a zero tail swing machine anymore, had to redesign because new engine emission equipment would not fit in engine compartment of fr series. Fr series will be introduced in March at Conn expo. Takeuchi tb257fr
Great work as always Chris. Not sure how much of the woods this property owner actually owns, but this would really clean up with a forestry mulching job. Just get rid of the vines and saplings and leave the mature trees and the place would look like a park and not a jungle.

let me be a Monday morning Quarterback here. i watch a lot of these kind of videos most on beaver dam removal and i see and do not understand why people who have these machines do not use the thumb. it would be a lot easier. when you dropped the trash in the ditch the thumb is the first thing i thought of.
@@letsdig18 Hey Chris, my 121 Kubota does not have two circuits on the dipper either, (just one) so my dealership put two 12 volt splitter valves out on the dipper so I can split the circuit between the thumb and the tilt bucket or hammer with the push of a button from the cab so you can use the thumb if you need it.

I always enjoy when sculpting the ground is involved because you are so good at it. It's much more enjoyable to watch than the pond dredging!

By the looks of it. The thumb won't reach this bucket cuz of the long neck
yeah I have a valve on the cylinder, the tilt bucket plugs into those lines and uses that control function for the tilt.

A lotta leaves and tuff, that is going to make a serious fire when it burns. That ditch just might make a bit of a firebreak in addition to a drain.

He has to sacrifice the hydraulic line for the thumb to use the tilt bucket.
