The Walking Dead 7x04: Rick Talks About Shane/Judith [HD]
A broken Rick Grimes has been through it all over the past seven seasons. Now he is left with a community that is in shambles due to Negan and the Saviors. From losing members of the group that have become his family to losing his beloved wife, we see the things our hero has endured to ensure the safety of his group. After seven seasons, he finally opens up and tells us the truth about his daughter.
This was really a great scene by Andrew Lincoln and I had to share it, along with my own views about it. Although we see Rick at a vital point in the series, we all see his story develop in one hell of a way as the season progresses.
For now, we just endure with Negan's way of life and get a chuckle out of Jeffrey Dean Morgan's acting skills!
I do not own any of the footage in the video, it is property of AMC.
" I love her she's my daughter, but she isn't mine" that just hits and for people with step dads who have a good bond can understand
I have had the same step dad since I was 4 years old. I'm 30 years old now and he feels more like my real dad than my biological dad. So I really understand that line more than people who still have their biological parents still married to each other.
@@thewildbruce5612 it isn't normal or natural. The fact remains, step parents make it worse when the real parents especially dads are kicked to the curb because the mother doesn't get what she wants.
@@TheConqueror009 That's not true. I've heard so many kids saying their real dad ignoring their kids and starting a new life without them, when their mom marries someone else. And it has NOTHING to do with their mom, as they are the ones who tells the dads to participate in their kids lives. Unfortunately my best friend is one of those kids. His dad doesn't give a sh*t about his kids.
Step dads feel like the strongest of em all. Mine came into a fucked up house and gave me a good life, helped my mother get her shit together, worked to provide. Never doubted who he is to me nor I to him. He is my father. It takes someone special to step into a half built family and love everyone as though they're his own.
Rick got cucked hard though
The fact that he has decided to treat Judith like he were her biological father, says a lot of the character. Rick is a good man, a good father...and he will do right by Carl AND Judith.
Nope he shot himself
Carls Dead 😂👍🏽
Carl... not so much
LMAO SURPRISE BITCH, CARLS FUCKING DEAD!! Nah, but for real, Riggs could not act worth a fuck, glad he’s gone. I hope they reboot the walking dead again in my life time so someone else can do Carl justice and make him bad ass like he is in the comics. In the show, he’s a whiny little bitch with an actor who can’t act worth a damn. My god, Riggs’ acting gave me cancer.

That Andrew Lincoln was never even nominated for an Emmy is a crime. The Television Academy not showing him or Melissa McBride or Danai Gurira any acknowledgement hurts. It feels personal.
Same thoughts here
I feel the same about earlier seasons of twd along with battlestar. You're saying to me that neither Edward Olmos or Mary McDonnell, or even Michael Hogan deserved a nomination. Katie Sackoff(Starbuck) I would compare to Claire Danes' character on homeland.
It's a bias against science fiction.
@@moses0686 I never watched Battlestar. I can't comment on the quality.

As someone who‘s binged 10 seasons of this show and genuinely loves it I gotta say it‘s absolutely hysterical how melodramatic this is when viewed out of context

Didn't really seem that hysterical to me.
@@lilliane3930 Okay.

Show went to shit after Glenn Rick, Abraham, And Carl Dies.
Love the fact that people are still debating this even to this day LoL Like seriously people, the shows creators are making it clear that Rick is not Judiths biological father. This scene wasn't thrown in there as a "maybe" Shanes the father, they put this scene in the show to make it perfectly clear that although Rick is Judiths father in terms of love and raising her, he's not her biological father. Also, this scene was put in to show Ricks character and heart, to show how strong he is as a person, knowing that Judith is the result of Lori cheating on him with his best friend and still has the heart to love Judith regardless of the fact that she is not his biological daughter.
And how exactly can Rick now it? Shane banged her in 1x01 and then Rick in 1x04. Simple question - why is he so sure of this?
Exactly and ppl keep saying how do he know that Judith isn't his because Shane and Lori been sleeping with each other for a very long time we just seen it the one time they showed them and Lori was already pregnant and Rick knew it when she had the baby
@@TheMiksonPL because Lori was already pregnant at that time before Rick came along and Lori and Shane been sleeping together we just saw it for the first time in s1
@@sexychocolate10049 How can you know that she was already pregnant before Rick came back? Her pregnancy was confirmed in Season 2 and there weren't any signs of her being pregnant in Season 1.
@@TheMiksonPL yeah it was when she got upset when Shane said no one can go out after the rest or the group and she walked off and he followed her and she instantly got nauseous and held that towel or cloth looking thingy up to her nose and mouth
I love how Rick accepts the people dying around him. he knows exactly what kinda world they are all living in and he understands how to survive. Such a good actor.
What was much on me having a hard time understanding here?? That folks still die or what??
@@tonytriplett21 I'm sorry, could you rephrase your question?
You can tell that Rick loved Shane and misses him. Despite having no choice other to kill him because Shane lost it. But I love how Rick would very rarely mention Shane here and there.
I think Shane's death had a major effect on Rick just as much as Lori's and Carl's
I still mourn their friendship. I hated Shane but from time to time it was so obvious that once he loved Rick very deeply too. And if he hadn’t lost it, they would’ve been the most badass duo.
@@thuydungie the problem was how emotional he was, had he not been in love with lori, he'd be alive.
@@safcjoe7062 I think, when he decided to injure that guy on the farm so he could get away, that's when he really changed, it ravaged the truly good heart he had left, to do that to someone when he was a cop before.
@@chrismccaffrey8256 I think when Lori told him that even is it was his baby she would not let him have it and when Rick did the same it is what made him go crazy. Before that he was a great survivor. Rick and Lori were both terrible to him. They shouldve sat down and talked about it like adults. I remember that one fight Rick and Shane had where Shane wasnt even really trying to fight Rick he was just trying to kill Randall(for a good reason), but Rick said Shane tried to kill him even though Rick attacked him. Lori also kept saying he lied about Rick being dead even though that’s what he really believed. All that just caused him to build up so much hate and then he was also in love with Lori.
@@TheBlackAztec3 Lori I agree but Rick not so much I Rick and Shane’s conflict wasn’t so much the baby as it was more Rick didn’t think Shane should be in charge and Shane Rick that Randal fight happened cause Rick didn’t want to kill cause it would remove his good character he thought cause he was a kid and he stopped Shane but Shane got mad and ended up hitting Rick first then they brawled and Rick at the time already fed up with Lori and Shane and seeing how
Dangerous Shane was ( this was seasons two before the group really understand how they had to adapt) he was gonna leave him but decided to come back and save him and think Shane knew that two and that officially severed there relationship between Lori whispering bs in both there ears the conflicts they faces both being the leaders of the group and throw the baby issues in the mix is what blew that up and while Rick didn’t go about the right way he also never antagonised Shane the only time I felt sympathy for Shane during his fight with Rick was when rick told him the baby was ricks and that stemmed from Lori saying it was ricks and that she thought Shane was dangerous and killed Otis and then she turned right around that same episode saying the baby was Shane’s and the love they had was real

Rick is one of the most tragic but also extremely powerful characters just because of what he has gone through in the course of this show... I have unlimited respect for him.

Sometimes parenthood goes beyond blood, Shane might of been her father, but Rick is and always will be her daddy
Rick will also be the guy that killed her father
@@Sernival his "a little twisted" father but yea
@@Sernival Shane had to be put down
@@logger22 Shane was also ahead of the curve, ready to act, and completely capable though. If Shane had been around, he would have made the Governor a non-threat and by then no one can say he couldn't beat Negan or anyone else the group encountered because if they had lasted a season or so more living in the prison they could have had a fortress with plenty of people on their side.
@@Zladnyl You may be right that Shane would have handled things differently, but there is no saying if those decisions and action, would have worked or guaranteed that they always win or get out of every situation so far. I mean Rick was Basically becoming Shane against Negan at the beginning, he was Cocky, Arrogant and Though, he ambushed Negans man and killed them in their Sleep, something wich i can imagine Shane would do, he Didn't fuck around and was basically a Badass Killer, now i don't see Shane doing much differently against Negan and his Group since he also wouldn't have known how Big Negans group really was. Now sure if we talking about Fighting just 1 v 1, than I can easily see Shane beating almost everyone that rick encounter and struggled with, I mean Shane has a Though Physic, but again we are talking about the bigger Picture here not just a 1 v 1. Again there is no certainty that Shane would have been a better Leader, at the end it comes down to the Writer not us. Let's just imagine Shane instead of Rick meeting Negan, I can easily see him not taking shit and therefore not only getting Glen and Abraham killed, maybe even himself.
One thing I liked about Rick is that he never blamed or hated Lori or Shane for their relationship, even tho he had every right too. Definitely showed his character as a person.
Rick: "I wanted him dead" (referring to shane)
@@SHANEO144 For him threatening his leadership. For him being unhinged. For him trying to take his family away from him. But Rick had made peace with the fact that Shane and Lori had a sexual relationship while they thought he was dead. Rick was a GREAT person. Shane couldn't live with it. Rick was a better man than Shane.
Shane and Lori had every reason to think that Rick was dead and if he was dead then of course they would end up together.
He really had no right to be angry… Or he could be angry, but it was very irrational of him
He did tell Shane he wanted to punch his teeth in after he found out about it though, lol. But he chose not to.

So basically, Judith has no biological family now. After Carl died. But she still has a family who loves her
Yeah... I always wondered if Daryl is ever going to tell her who Judith biological parents are. I know there was bad blood between Rick, Shane, and Lori, but should Judith know? Sound any of the kids now. Judith's not the only one Rick did kill Gracie's dad and Adam's aunt kill his mom. Just wondering?
I honestly don’t think it matters to her. She is a first generation child of the zombie apocalypse; everyone takes care of everyone.
@@lstarsabb I think Daryl and any sane adult would never tell Judith. It would cause more harm than good. What’s the point telling her, that her biological dad who tried to kill the only dad she’s ever known was killed by Rick etc etc. Judith is content being Ricks daughter, that’s all she knows and she doesn’t need that broken/taken from her. Ignorance is bliss.
Only thing her being told that would cause is distress. No kid, especially in a world like that needs another thing stripped away from them.
@@casspurrwaspurr4716 Well and it’s also obvious that Michonne isn’t her biological mother, I’m sure she’s aware of that but she doesn’t care, so I doubt she’d care that Rick isn’t her biological father. Blood is nothing man, just a technicality. Rick still has a family - Daryl, Michonne, Judith, Carol, Maggie and others are his family too. They may not share the blood, but they are willing to die for each other, and that's more than enough.
Rick claimed Judith as his before she was born.

if shane hadn’t been blinded by his obsession with lori and carl, he’d probably still be one of our surviving members
Well to be fair, Lori heavily distanced herself and would not let Shane explain himself. It seems she did not grasp or care that Shane thought Rick was dead too.
@Corey Daryl used to be like that but he was able to change, I don’t think Shane could’ve.
@@KennethV45Well Lori felt guilt but also shame over the fact that Shane was a good partner for her in her eyes.

Andrew Lincoln is such an underrated actor.
Ikr. Man deserves an Emmy.
They had like 80 babies playing Judith, but the early Judith had blue eyes like Rick's. Lori and Shane both have brown eyes.
Kale Lacrosse most babies have blue eyes actually. It changes by the time they're 2. Pretty common.
Kale Lacrosse yeah they had 16 sets of twins to play Judith since she was born in season 3. Chloe and Sophia Garcia-Frizzi are the twins who currently play Judith since season 6 to season 8. :)
it’s possible, i have blue eyes, both my parents have brown eyes, i wasn’t adopted, my parents both have to carry a recessive blue eyed trait allele in order for me to have blue. it’s a 25% chance of two brown eyed people having a blue eyed kid
CandyBeach eye colour is a inherited gene meaning as your parents didn’t have it you may of got it from a grandparent

i've watched this series twice whole thing and the way rick took care of her as his own is just awesome it says a lot about him
I cried hearing rick talk about shane and lori its sad because things like this happen in real life poor rick
I always appreciated the fact that I forgot Shane was more than likely (or absolutely) Judith's father. Rick did an awesome of forgetting that too, I guess.
Those who criticized the seasons 7 and 8 saying they were bad forgot the scenes like that....One where Rick talks about his best friend, a character dead for 5-6 seasons.
Rick has 3 children Carl, Judith, & RJ. Doesn’t matter if he isn’t Judith’s bio dad, he’s her DAD!
So if you was pregnant to a other man and you give it to your man does that mean he the father 😂
The fact that he recognizes that Shane kept Carl alive 💞 it doesn't matter if Judith is his or Shane's..
Weather or not rick is actually Judith’s father, rick will always be a father to her because he’s the one parenting her.
@kieron spiteri Read the comment properly dumbass. They said Rick will always be a father to her, a father FIGURE. Shane was Judith's blood father but he didn't do half the things Rick did for Judith. Rick is truly Judith's father, with a bond that runs deeper than blood. Now shut the fuck up.
@kieron spiteri And that doesn't even make sense, "he's father cause he loves Lori" I understand what you were saying but you said it in a dumbass way.
Honestly, Shane was never given the opportunity to raise Judith, and that's so unfair. Even before he died, Rick told him that he wasn't allowed to raise Judith. And then, whenever Shane tried to fight for a family he never had, Rick killed him and he wasn't around to see Judith grow up at all.
If we are talking biological, then yes Shane is the father. You’re right, but outside of that rick completely raised Judith like his own, therefore making him the father. Or father figure. Maybe not through the blood but they have a special bond that honestly makes them both dad and daughter.

The way Rick talks is always so real, Rick is such a down to earth and amazing character who would do anything to protect the people he loves, he’s a true leader, I haven’t watched TWD in a really long time, but thinking back from what I remember I feel like nobody would ever die if they were by ricks side, of course there are a few freak accidents like Beth, Abraham, and Glens death, but Rick is just such an amazing character who has all the quality’s of a leader. Everything he’s done he did because he was left with no choice, of course there were other options, there are always options no matter the circumstances, even if it leads to death, there are options. I don’t really know what point I’m trying to make lmao, but this just randomly showed up on my feed and it brought back a lot of memories and made me remember how much I love Ricks character.

This is definitely season 7 Rick. Even in his voice he sounds like a broken man. He could’ve told this story in any other season, and you would be able to tell that he was in a different place mentally. This season on the other hand, he seems just gone after everything that happened.
Andrew hated filming this season due to the fact he had to be mostly subservient and broken. He couldn’t wait to bounce back in season 8 as full blown Rick
His acting is unbelievable in this show. I hope he gets a chance in Hollywood
Funny how no one talk about the fact that Rick was in the hospital for maybe a few months or less and his friend and wife smashed so quickly is just betrayal .
Now that the show is over I have to say I truly forgot that this scene existed but I always knew that he knew and accepted it. Honestly there's really no way to get mad about it even if he tried because Shane really tried and really thought that he died. I often feel sorry for how Shane came to his end because while the world was focusing on Rick's relationship with Lori no one paid attention or felt sympathetic for the way Shane systematically crumbled to pieces in his mind. Lori and Carl equaled hope to Shane and that disintegrated once Rick came back.
I wanted Carl to know too
For Rick, Judith is a reminder of how his wife and his best friend betrayed him, but for Negan, Judith represents his second chance in life to become a good person again
You didn't understand a damn thing right?
Rick was already a better person than Lori and Shane. He was a decent man.
Why I came back to this scene in my favorite show I don't know. This was a true breakthrough for Rick, but he knew they thought he was gone. Still love Judiths character.
Living long enough to raise her and teach her how to survive...this hurts...o_o
this scene was perfect
the acting, the soundtrack playing in the background
i will never get people for saying this season was bad
For me, my heart hopes and wants her to be ricks, but realistically between the first official outbreak to Rick waking up from his coma, they had plenty of times to shag and safe to say he's more of a chance of being her biological parent, that's not to say that Judith is not his biological daughter, this video just all but confirms that no matter how much he loves her and cares for her deep down he believes that she is not his
I miss Rick on the show so much
First time I saw this I cried cause I know the pain and hell ricks been threw...
I Just hope i Have half of Rick big heart
