The reason this one is a buy because Seiko actually made a reproduction vs an inspiration so for them this is rare. The count seems high but this is for 55th anniversary for Seiko 5 so if you figure how many Seiko dealers will want to get this world wide then it’s actually not enough to go around.
I have this watch and it's stunning, the retro styling, they just nailed it with this one, something has defiantly been lost in the design ether. No problems with the bracelet or the crown, my son thinks it looks futuristic :)
I've just home and taken mine off. It's the only 55th anniversary Seiko 5 that is a faithful reproduction. The finishing is decent, and it has a really cool retro vibe. In terms of the bracelet, it is more flexible than it first appears. I was concerned about it until I'd sized it up and found it wore very well. It's not a massive hair puller but I might be down a couple of hairs. All in all, it's a fun looking watch and I've enjoyed wearing it over the past few weeks.
I bought this watch two weeks ago. I sent it back. Getting the crown out was not so bad but, winding was ridiculously difficult AND using it two clicks out was so hard, it hurt. Day date one click out was ok. I love this watch but I will never own a watch with a painful crown experience
I just put a black sail cloth strap like the one on an Omega Speedmaster (Moonwatch) and it really works with this watch. It looks sporty and classy. I love it with a black rubber Tropic strap too.
I like this. But, the bracelet flexibility seems still questionable.. more so, i wish the bracelet tapered more. Cool fairly 1:1 reissue.. is it the only Seiko 5 that has an actual lume pip on bezel?
This watch has always struck me as the coolest looking watch with the least functionality from the things that make it cool. Like, what sport would you ever use this to time? Croquet? Speed talking in a bar? All that stuff that makes you think you’d use it all the time for sport - all the cool lines and the bezel and the blue writing - are just normal. The bezel isn’t even a tachymeter, which also nobody ever uses. But is looks awesome and I love they stuck with the original tucked up and impossible to use crown. If Mimo’s gets it down below $400 I might make the drive to Long Beach if it doesn’t get washed away tonite.
Why not a sapphire crystal on a anniversary watch !!! Why Seiko ??? Citizen do better with her titanium watches collection with all sapphire crystal...
I’m with you on the crystal but Rolex had pressed clasps for decades, and we all lived. They’re fine and also slimmer, and “Sport” is just a name. Also, it’s a true copy. So maybe it’s the one time IN HISTORY Seiko is justified in using Hardlex.
@@PATthe13EAST215 I look to citizen when it is on sale now, some bargains to be had with good specification. I like what the Chinese homage brands offer spec wise but they seem very disposable and not any originality.
It’s a modern time piece with automatic in house movement (mine runs within cosc) pretty much a one to one remake of a watch with real heritage - be sure and tell me another piece at this price that gives you that ?
@@davidb9531 I just purchased a citizen promaster fugu white dial NY0150-51A on sale for £140 ($178) with sapphire crystal, bracelet, screw down crown and in house movement. That's less than half the price with alot better specs. I also purchased a mineral crystal variant brown coloured case NY0125-08W and dial for £130 ($165). Both better options than this Seiko.
I have this on wrist right now. I love it.

Most faithful reissue they've done. Love the caseback.

Thank you for the discount code - I just ordered mine and saved 20% plus free shipping. I was born in ‘68 so I had no choice but to get one!

Go see Mimo if you are anywhere near Long Beach California! Totally worth the drive.
What’s the standby time when not on the wrist?
Beautiful video. Love the close up in detail videography
Thanks
Thanks for the discount code, that's the cheapest I could find it!

Groovy looking watch!
Nice Seiko
Have mine on a shark mesh looks ace
Bought no. 10527. "Made in Japan" is missing on dial and also on case back. So, in a meantime they have moved production from Japan.
Love it
Yes please

It's $330 if you use the code provided. I'd drive for that if I didn't already get one last month at full retail.
Indices are too snug with the minute track (or the minute track is too thick). Great case shape and bracelet, though.
500 with hardlex 😂
Over priced??
Hardlex is a big downer for me.
I am glad i didn't buy it,because i was hyped too.
Pulling ur hair?!?!? 🤣

Split splins, pressed clasp and mineral crystal at $415 is a joke. Im so done with Seiko.
Also why are they so afraid of screw down crowns?

Not much value for money in this offering.. but that's where Seiko is nowadays..
Yup I’ve turned to chinese watches and haven’t looked back. The value offered by those brands is unmatched.
