      Take it apart if you're not afraid of voiding the warranty and take a peek at the connector or the traces. Ideally you want to use a multimeter to check.

    I have a Yamaha PSS-190 that buzzes when you turn it on. The keys and accompaniments don't play. This just started - was working fine last month. Any suggestions?

    • @bartsblocks7990
      @bartsblocks7990  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I know this is a bit late. I hope you've solved your issue by now, but in case you haven't:
      From what you say about the buzz, it sounds like either something at the gain/output stage. Maybe there's a short or a loose connection somewhere? Have you tried hooking it up via MIDI to something (like a another synth or a PC), so that you can check if the keys are sending data? I think that would at least rule out anything digital being the problem.
      Those are some of my thoughts. I hope this helps!

    I have a Yamaha PSR E333 and it doesn't sound anymore, doesn't matter whether I try it with or without headphones. The keyboard itself is completely fine, the screen's normal, the buttons and volume knob are all fine, it's never been wrecked in any way and I just don't get what's wrong, it has been working for years completely fine. I'd really appreciate a reply.

    • @bartsblocks7990
      @bartsblocks7990  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sorry for the late reply. I don't check back here very often anymore... I'm not familiar with this model, so I'm blindly assuming it can play backing tracks. When you hit play, do these work fine, or is it both from keys and backing tracks that you're having issues? If the former, this may be an issue at the gain stage. If the latter case, the issue may be with the connection between the keys and the main board themselves.

    • @bartsblocks7990

      Hey, sorry the unit belongs to my school and I've returned it to them since it's been fixed, so I can't remember the model no. Yamaha keyboards usually have the same power requirement, which is 9-12V, but it is recommended that you use the recommended adaptor from the manufacturer.
      With regards to it not working, it could be a variety of things, from a damaged adaptor to components in your keyboard. In this video, this was one of 4 keyboard that I fixed and all of them had issues with either a broken DC input socket or loose solder connection. I'd say, if you don't want to risk damaging, get it repaired by a professional.

    • @bartsblocks7990
      @bartsblocks7990  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi there,
      If you only need to replace the connector (like I did in the video), then you can use any DC input jack from eBay or whatever site.
      If you need to replace the whole PCB for that module, then I suggest finding a Yamaha PSR S950 replacement parts website and ordering one from there.
      Here's the first one I found after a quick Google search: www.syntaur.com/yamaha_psr.html
      Hope this helps.

    I have a Yamaha keyboard it was working fine until today I was trying to play a song and it wouldn't turn on it's plugged in and the plug's on. (it's a EZ-200) Please help D:

    • @bartsblocks7990
      @bartsblocks7990  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hard to say without seeing what's up inside. If you've checked the power supply itself and it's fine, maybe open the keyboard up and look for a dodgy trace around the power plug. That may void your warranty though, so if you have it, I recommend that you RMA the keyboard. If there's no warranty and you're not comfortable opening it up, take it to a music shop and see if they can run a diagnostics test for free.

    • @bartsblocks7990
      @bartsblocks7990  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Unless there is a problem with some of the actual components inside or a bug in the software, I would probably first check if there's a loose cable somewhere or even some dirt in the buttons themselves (assuming you're willing to open it up).

    Hi, I have a Yahama ytp-200 and I use batteries but it won't turn on. I replaced all the batteries with brand new ones but still doesn't work. What shall I do?

    • @bartsblocks7990
      @bartsblocks7990  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Have you tried using a DC adapter just to check if there is any possible way to get it running? If it works with that then I would check the battery terminals or the wiring inside. If not, then I would look at checking for an absence of power where it should be present (from the DC jack to the power button to wherever that goes). There are A LOT of things that can go wrong and I've only got a basic idea of the small stuff, but I hope this at least helps you debug the issue.
