I wish victims would take it more seriously and report it as soon as it happens. Victim or not locking up the assailant is the only valid option. So IMO the victim becomes an accomplice to any future assaults by a suspect if they refused to turn them in. I don’t care if you don’t like to be in the public eye. I don't think people realize how momentous this moment was in Twitch history. Influence is no joke. The game at play here is far deeper than drama or react content. Poki & Hasan have an extremely large reach both in the culture side of Twitch as well as real tangible political ties outside of Twitch. Until recently, most people who know a base level of streamers would presume them to be on the "good side" of things. But their hypocrisy came into the fold here. To be a champion of woman's rights & progressive ideology is one thing. To then not only not be neutral when reacting to the leak of a woman's SA (or anyone for that matter) & afterwards insinuate Train was "reaching" because you don't like the individual who's saying it (or whom its directed toward) is another. That initial reaction means so much more than most people realize. It is entirely the cause and effect afterwards that matters, not whatever the original intent was. Hundreds of thousands of people watch and change their opinion based on these streamers and their viewpoints. You reading this have probably been influenced in some form or another. To initially downplay SA for Poki or Hasan's brand is absolutely career suicide. This is why they were groveling towards the end of the stream once Adrianah came into the stream. She was the great neutralizer of shifting the focus back on what the real important topic at hand was, the sexual assault, while validating everything that Train did for her. Influence is no joke. The game at play here is far deeper than drama or react content. Poki & Hasan have an extremely large reach both in the culture side of Twitch as well as real tangible political ties outside of Twitch. Until recently, most people who know a base level of streamers would presume them to be on the "good side" of things. But their hypocrisy came into the fold here. To be a champion of woman's rights & progressive ideology is one thing. To then not only not be neutral when reacting to the leak of a woman's SA (or anyone for that matter) & afterwards insinuate Train was "reaching" because you don't like the individual who's saying it (or whom its directed toward) is another.
That initial reaction means so much more than most people realize. It is entirely the cause and effect afterwards that matters, not whatever the original intent was. Hundreds of thousands of people watch and change their opinion based on these streamers and their viewpoints. You reading this have probably been influenced in some form or another. To initially downplay SA for Poki or Hasan's brand is absolutely career suicide. This is why they were groveling towards the end of the stream once Adrianah came into the stream. She was the great neutralizer of shifting the focus back on what the real important topic at hand was, the sexual assault, while validating everything that Train did for her. Even now people claim he was weaponizing her for his personal gains even when the victim herself is claiming otherwise.
This stream felt like we were 10 layers past the fourth wall. People's entire morals & careers were being put into question, as well as Hasan not so subtly mentioning/threatening it could go into legal territory for slander and defamation.
Ultimately, the simulation blessed us all with great content. The victim was able to out her truth and some bad-faith actors got the rug pulled out from under them publicly. W
