  • In this video, I show my process for carving a pumpkin pendant out of wax. This piece will later be cast in metal using the lost wax casting process. I'm using hard green jewelry carving wax for this model and odorless mineral spirits to polish the finished carving.

Great video and stunning carving skill!
The handheld file you used for carving the eyes and mouth, is it something you made yourself or a commercial product?
I've only come across spiral saw blades for wax earlier.

Thank you so much! That tool was a "wax-carving detailer". It's a commercial product.

Amazing work!! Quick question what is the tool that you melted wax onto and used as a lathe… sort of looked like a wax top

What is that heating element tool that looks like a male socket and how do I get one/make one! Lol awesome video!

Thank you! That's an old pyrography pen. They're normally used for wood burning but if you get one that lets you dial in the temperature, they work great with wax! 😁

@@GraceNoteForge thanks for the response! That's awesome, I've never seen one that looks like that haha I've been actually been looking into one of those and a rio stat so I can control the temp! Thanks again for the response!
