I can confirm that leveling lockpicking on the poison quest chest and dungeons only gives you a skill up once. You can't grind up the skill so have to stick to footlockers.

Of course I find this video after my rogue is level 42 and could have used these tips to save so much time! That's alright, I can still use a lot of this stuff. Thanks, it's a great video. I appreciate the farming bit especially, as I was kindof getting the idea that Rogues could just stealth to important mobs in dungeons but didn't know what was viable. Will definitely be coming back to this video. Also glad to see someone who finally realizes Undead Rogue is superior over Orc

Stun resist is actually superior, as people start to gear hardiness just out classes wotf, i will say undead is god tier in TBC, but for Vanilla Orc all day, but in vanilla WOTF is god tier if you're into bgs and premades.
Bare in mind you cant trinket stuns, but you can shadow reflect fears, trinket fear etc. the AP on bloodfurry is insane also. the only time i'd say WOTF is needed is against top tier players, but most peopel will be average which makes Orc even better.

A Quick tip for the chinese. No chinese person uses ni hao ma to say how are you. They would say ni chi le ma. Have you eaten in chinese. If you say ni hao ma it means you want actually to know how they are doing and they Will give you a long chinese speach of how their life sucks

I've used other methods to detect players (such as the combat log trick and setting cvars to max range for unit health bars.) but I'll have to give this addon a try.

Awesome guide. I’m really feeling Alchemy/Herbalism to roll with though. Although I know engineering has all the fun stuff, the money you can save/make from alchemy, especially while the economy is starting out, is too tempting for me.

What's the best site for the macros?
If you're going Alliance, there aren't bad options, but my favorite is Dwarf since they're pretty great at removing opposing Rogues from the picture with Stoneform.
Nice video! Hope you can help me with a question. Im kinda new to WoW and trying to figure out the roles of a Rogue in a team setting. I would figure he was the best melee dps as thats his main role. But people say Warrior can do equal dps, and they do AOE and Single Target. So im just confused, why would you bring a Rogue to a party if a warrior can be everything?
Avean rogues do more dps warriors can't do as much.
Rogue is better in Dps but it always depens on your skill. I mean rogue is ez in Endgame Raids and still be Top3 DMG. Just by clickin 2-3 Attacks.
I heard that pickpocketing got nerfed very hard in beta. Lets see how it is at launch.

I also came across a serpent slicer and don't need gold so could equip it if needed. Any tips?

A good rogue shouldn't be getting stunned in the first place. Either you failed to open and stay in a warriors dead zone or you managed to get caught be another rogue. Paladins shouldn't be a problem. Undead will get tremendous value vs every priest, warlock, and warrior. Orc only for pve
Should have mentioned that just opening boxes in any major city is a good way to lvl lock licking, plus you can make some cash

Once and for all, 1 agility = 1 Attack Power
Yes but when factoring stat weighting you should count 1 agi as being worth 2 attack power when comparing items.

Cannot train swords until level 10 so must use daggers until lvl 10
Actually no, if you have the silver you can train swords at level 1 now. On pservers it was level 10.

I think 150/175 is safe, but RFD was nerfed anyway.

No, and throwing the quest item out now abandons the quest due to Legion client.
Cant decide between Orc and Undead for PVP; don't care about aesthetics . I remember WOTF being amazing. I can't think of a lot of stuns off the top of my head; Paladins, other Rogues mainly? Then some mini stuns like intercept.
But I think you're right. Countering priests and warlocks is most important
Paladins, warriors, rogues, hunters, and druids have stuns, that's 5 classes. Warrior, warlock, and priest have fears, that's only 3. For me orc rogue is the better choice for pve/pvp if you're going for a min/max.
edit: Also rogues pvp trinket is like a wotf on a 5 min cd.
So I threw out the zanzil mixture thinking I could level up my lockpicking by looting the chest over and over and it got rid of my quest completely! How do I redo this quest? When I go back to the rogue trainer in Org he gives me some stupid letter, after reading the letter he gives me a seal of ravenholdt! How do I learn my POISONS NOW SWOLEBENJI??

Nice video dude your content is super helpful. One question--isn't your max lockpick skill 5xLevel? So if you finish the poison quest @ 22, you can only cheese that box to 110 LP right? Do you have to choose between waiting to do the poison quest or being gimped on LP?
I always choose to do poison quest at 30. I just mentioned doing it at 22 solo with the ambush vanish ambush trick for people that don't bother with lockpicking early.
@@SwoleBenji It appears you can't use this method for lockpicking anymore, deleting the item removes the quest

can someone explain why a rogue would want to use swords over daggers in pve? i do so much more dps with daggers using ambush and backstab spam. i tried going swords but wasnt getting as high of numbers.
Swords have a higher top-end and have potential to hit twice or even three times (very, very rare.). Daggers really don't take off till the end of tier 1 and 2.
Because your positioning isnt depended on being behind only, therefore swords has a higher uptime of dps output

Love the guide! Learned a lot. Also wanted to point out that a person could just pickpocket junkboxes to incrementally level lockpicking 5 pts per character level (past 75 when you should absolutely reach on the pirate ship / Redridge sawmill).

look for a new upgrade in both hands every (roughly) 6-8 lvls man.

Who said that? Ambush chunks the poison quest boss for 50% due to the mechanic of the encounter. Ambush vanish ambush quickly will 100% kill the boss.
SwoleBenji Based on the other skill point charts that don’t have ambush points. So I should be respeccing situationally?
@@kgeo2686 You don't need to spec ambush you just have to use it. The boss has a mechanic that it takes 50% of its total health from ambush, even if it's a starter dagger.

Yeah I worded that kinda stupid. I fudge'd the script and meant to say you should think of 1 agility as 2 attack power when comparing it to gear that has attack power. So a 10 agility chest piece is better than an 18 attack power chest.
Also dont listen to any p3 bis rogue lists that say cloak of firemaw and hand of justice are any part of a bis list.
