You should see more of her videos specially when she was younger. Her range is as high as the sky 😀 with very less effort.
Just a trivia: Prior to Regine becoming popular, part of her voice training was singing her lungs out while her body is submerged underwater I guess to develop. And strengthen her core when singing especially when singing those high notes. Back then her voice coach was her late father who trained her rigidly when she was actively joining singing contests. 😊

Regine is the inspiration of every Filipino singer/belter because she popularized belting in the Philippines.She paved the way for all the "contiseras" like Sarah,Angeline,Mori,Katrina,Gigi,and a lot more. Regine was a contisera herself which means a champion or a regular of singing contests.Her techniques have influenced a lot of our current singers.
Her voice is just perfection. I think her longevity puts her on top of the OPM pantheon. We need to wait for 30 years to see if any of today’s artists can measure up to what Regine has accomplished - and the cool thing is she is still at the top of her game.

You should see her old videos during her prime which inspired a lot of our current singers.Her songs were covered numerous times and were used as contest pieces or audition pieces by many of our aspiring artists.That's Regine's legacy, I guess.

I watched her live. It is just unnaturally perfect. I cant believe how beautiful the sound coming out of her throat. Crystal-clear, like water flowing in a very clean, beautiful stream.
I have watched her too, whenever she was in Chicago in 2003, Songbird and the songwriter, 2005 -ever after , and 2009 Divas4Divas. It’s unreal. And even on Divas4Divas, the audience respond differently to her than the other singers. You can also tell that in that concert, they made Zsa Zsa’s mic louder and wetter, while Regines was more muted and dry, but no matter, people loved Regine’s voice and parts. It was amazing.
Omg! You need to watch her live. She's really different in person (aside from her beauty). Her voice is naturally loud and when she hits high notes, the venue blasts! Among all other female singers, she's the best (live). Powerful!!!! She has a concert though on Nov 25

Singers from the Philippines always sing from the heart. If you watch singing contests here, you'd hear this from the coaches. If you sing from the heart, you talk to your audience's heart. ❤
To think she's 53 already and belting while sitting down really proved how good she is. I watched her on her younger years though she's already great but I love her voice on her mid 30s .she sound amazing live
'SHINE' is such an endearing song ❤ The covers as done by Regine Velasquez and Morissette are indeed amazing. The original version of this song was performed by Ima Castro and it is also such a sweet rendition, which I also love a lot.
There is a live version where Regine Velasquez, Ima Castro and The Company sung 'Shine' as they celebrated the song's 20th year at that time with the composer playing the keyboard.
She’s already in her 50’s when she sang this. She is the original singer and there were many covers and rendition of this song but no one can ever sing this as awesome and emotional than her.
Ima Castro is the original artist of this song and this song was competed as well in Metropop during 90’s. But I agree she has the most beautiful and wildest version ever
@candidcandice3652 This was part of Regine’s online birthday concert (50th birthday in 2020) though I don’t know if it happened on her actual birthday or just near it.
Ima castro recorded this for Metropop contest however Sweet Plantado was the one who sang it on the actual competition.
Regine recorded her own version much later.

Regine has the best cover of "What Kind of Fool Am I" that I've ever heard. Also, I don't think you give enough attention to Kat Velarde, who might be the best of the modern belters. Her cover of "I Wanna Know What Love Is" has some of the best whistle ever recorded.

Lani Misalucha is also a legend at masterful voice control. Not only was she singing while seated; notice how far she holds the microphone from her mouth, as she belts out the stratospheric notes, yet it comes out so loud! Hope you guys get to meet our these biggest artists, as well the upcoming ones, and do collabs with them; and help hone the potentially big ones, & manage them. BTW, as Regine shines, you guys shine too, in doing great technical reviews, being in the music industry itself. Hope to bump into you guys somewhere in the Philipines! 🌞 Asia's Songbird is phenomenal! When she was younger she was asked why she can belt that high, she answered that her dad trained her to vocalize while her neck was submerged in the beach. It is like an old wives' tale here that singing while standing with your neck submerged in the water would make your vocals better. 😂
The first concert I went to was hers. Her Sana Maulit Muli is just amazing! I didn't miss any of her concert in my city since then.

I am so genuinely happy you did another of Regine's. she is the best and a legend in the Philippine music industry. She was actually invited to do international broadway but she chose not to. I hope you can also react to her "What kind of fool am I" on mermaid sitting position. She not is the original singer of the song "Shine", she recorded it and the song become popular. You should listen to how she sings during her younger years for sure there's an old video out there. In her interviews when i was a young girl, Regine would always mention how her father trained her when she was young. She'd sing with her body submerged in water and just her neck and head out of the water. Her lungs are trained well i tell yah.

i think this performance was during the pandemic at her home. i watched regine once and she was really sick. she could barely talk but when she sang, her voice was powerful, crystal, and soaring. my friend and i joked that regine might have two vocal cords.
