Take my advice with a grain of salt, but I did have one baby already so this is my experience. Birth and afterbirth especially is messy. I would save your hospital gown for day 2 because you will get messy right away. They will be pushing on your stomach every 15 min after to check how much you are bleeding. Its not glamorous. Use the hospital gowns during that time because if it gets soiled you can just change it and its no big deal. If you soil your pretty one you will just have to change it for a hospital gown anyway. lol. Personally I wore a dress to the hospital and took it off as soon as I got there, and then when it was time to leave I ended up deciding just to wear it home because it was perfectly clean and more comfortable than pants after a c-section. Just my thoughts :)
After ease drops, a tiny stroller fan to hook to the bed during and after labor, a little portable sound machine to help you sleep in the hospital it drowns out the noise of the nurses coming in and out of the room too. I'm thinking about packing silver nipple shields I've heard really good things about them for breastfeeding.
Also water wipes and Vaseline helps alot with babies Meconium poop. It helps take off that sticky tar like poop in the beginning. Hopefully this helps :)

Bring baby nail clippers or nail file. Some babies have very sharp nails when they come and they will scratch their face to pieces.
