    You're wonderful!!!! I am about to buy a house and the wallpaper MUST GO. So interested in color psychology so I am doing my "research" before painting my walls. 🤗 I am leaning toward blue in my office, green in my living room, and lavender and white in my bedroom 😍🙏😍 Thank you for your information!!!!!!

    I made the mistake of painting the ceiling in my small apartment black and continuing that black about 5 inches down the wall at the top of it, thinking it would make the room seem larger. It didn't do what I want and to be honest, I have no idea what it did.

    Really enjoyed this video Erikka, thank you🙏 🥰 I agree with you that Colour is such an amazing resource to & in our lives! There are so many people that could utilise the fundamental aspects you've talked about in this video to help them create spaces in their homes that they are proud to walk into everyday. Most people feel as though 'decorating interiors' is a fancy term that is beyond them because it feels expensive to be able to create these Pinterest spaces. You summed it up best right at the beginning .. when you said "What type of mood & feeling u want for your room". Sometimes I take a look around my house and take things out from a room and add it somewhere else .. refreshing both spaces! 🤣

      Thank you so much Kristina! Yes, I couldn't agree more regarding your "decorating interiors" comment - I really appreciate you taking the time to leave your thoughts :)

    Okay, can you go into more depth with the in-between colours like turquoise and peach, and the influence of tints, shades, and tones? This is fascinating, but you've given us a very brief overview here. What type of blue tablecloth is best for weight loss? What colours would you use for an architect's home office? A teenager's study corner for concentration and good grades, and the rest of their bedroom to get them to sleep at night?

      Hi there - While the psychology of color provides a great foundation to start from for any interior design project, the answers to these types of questions really depend on individualized factors, such as client preferences and the interior design style for the room/home. I hope that makes sense. Best, Erikka

    I'm thinking of doing my bedroom in grey, maybe with a darker grey feature wall. It will be my first room that I get to paint.

      @@4seasons546 I got a medium light grey to go with a lovely blue, plus white for accents. I imagine it'll be very nice when I get around to painting.

    Blues, grays, and some muddy purples etc are soooooo depressing and cold and antisocial. I would use as an accent color. I think the red, orange and yellow examples given here are way too primary - like out of a child’s box of just 10 crayons. Hopefully no one uses these warm colors in this way in their homes or offices. Rather, if one looks at the the soft warm colors seen in the US Southwest, or the rich warm colors of the Riads of Marrakech that are blended with indoor / outdoor feel - it’s so warm and comforting. Overall, the best interior designs have a contemplative mixture of cool and warm colors and tones - not just all cool or just all warm. Erin Napier or Candice Olson do these blends beautifully, for example.

    So it is okay to colour your room purple!?

    • @erikkadawninteriors
      @erikkadawninteriors  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Purple is such a strong color, but it can absolutely be one of the main colors in a room, and if you love it, then you should! If it's going on your walls, I would go with a lighter tint (e.g., light lavender), but you can easily use more vibrant versions of this color in accents (e.g., pillows, rugs, accent chair, artwork, etc.) Best, Erikka

    • @erikkadawninteriors
      @erikkadawninteriors  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@niva8748 Hmm...well, if it were me, I'd likely stick with one of those colors for all of the walls (in a light shade of that color) and then bring in the other color in other elements of the room.
