A railway is under construction along this route. Two sections from two ends opened already. This will the most difficult railway in the world. There will be some very long tunnels and high bridges. Some tunnels are more than 50 kms.
Actually not so much, both the construction company and the boring machine company are stated owned, which means owned by the people, we invest it, we buildit, we benefit from it. Since this railway is the most difficult one in the world, it still has a few years to go, the good news is that 543km of it is in use out of the 1858km in total.

@@gg.youlubeatube6249 Their job might change from doing the long-distance hauling to transporting the cargo between towns and the railway by then. The market is generally good at adjusting
That’s true, when the economy is vibrant, many jobs will be created. But I think most of the drivers will be retired when the railroad is completed. I think it’s high speed trains and the railway go mainly on tunnels and bridges, not easy construction.
I am now officially an addict of these dangerous roads documentaries! It all started with a short clip I chanced on recently on Facebook - of a Burundian cyclist cruising down the highway with a 200kg load of bananas. I was fascinated. So I immediately went into a hot pursuit of the original/full footage, which landed me on this awesome channel here on TH-cam. Since then, which is only a couple of days now FYI, I have never looked back. I am binging on these thrilling and at the same time eye-opening real-life stories. I also draw many lessons from them: Mostly of how fortunate I am and how grateful I should be to be living a fairly better life than that of many people out there. It hits my heart very differently (sob). God bless all the people out there who go through a lot of struggle to make ends meet. And, loads of respect to the entire Free Documentary production crew (including the researchers, script writers, editors, camera crew, THE narrator - what's his name, by the way? - and of course plus each and every person who features on the show that is willing to let us in on their respective lives). It is indeed TEAM WORK! Many thanks and please keep producing more of these.
I've ridden G318 road to Litang County highway S217. Sadly without special permits and an accompanied guide foreigners are not permitted much further beyond that intersection. If Covid restrictions ever end I hope to get back to China and complete the trip through Tibet. The producers don't mention the reason the trucks have to stop for water is the trucks have a water sprayer on the axels to cool the bearings in their overweight trucks. There is now a toll road covering the first section and biggest climb of the trip.
This channel is so so so AMAZING!!! Would really like to thank the Admins for bringing such good contents its been months i am glued to this channel♥️😍
I believe it will never cease to amaze me the resourcefulness and ingenuity of people who come from an ancient culture in dealing with modern situations. It becomes apparent in watching these videos that the old and the new are commingling in a very productive manner. I always had two or three vehicles to include trucks, cars, and motorcycles. As such there have been times when I've traveled close to 70 or 80,000 miles in one year. However watching the many vehicles that travel these roads going through the mountains and passes, I applaud you all from bicycle riders to car and truck and semi drivers as well. Stay safe drive carefully and God BLESS YOU ONE AND ALLLLLLLLL!!!
I like watching these documentaries from around the world places that I'll never see in person in my life time, thanks for taking along on these dangerous roads.

This video was made about 10 years ago, now this 318 road is way more better than before. No doubt it's the best road in this series even in that time, well constructed and maintained. China has the No.1 infrastructure abilities on the world, that's why they could build the beautiful roads in the most dangerous area.
Great job creating this video! I drove a part of the highway 318 that connect chengdu and tibet in 2021, and i wont call that a dangerous road any more. Vehicles of all types travel through this highway safely after years of improvements and additions of tunnels to bypass those windy sections. Some country roads leading to the local villages can be scary with no guard rails on the side, but even these roads are usually paved. I get sweaty palms driving on such roads that rise sharply along the mountain cliffs.
Thank you free documentary for giving such a content. I always wanted to see China specially Tibetan region through your lense. I loved this episode because of its simplicity, I can obtain information, I can put myself into the situations in every obstacle which they fell during the entire trip.

@Avatar Aang Well, in this case, lot of those trucks driivers have to change their job. Railway will be faster, reliable and probably even cheaper.
Loved this documentary...best way to know about interesting places
I'm the same..
Thank you for such a close up perspective on some of China’s people and lives. I have a new found respect 🙏🏽
Did you mean G215 road? Foreigners can go as far as Batang town on Tibet boarder along G215 road. But unfortunately not further.
foreigners not allowed in Tibet?
@@FahadFSA Not without a special permit and an accompanying guide.
@@kaiwren2604 I don't know just how far foreigners can go on G318, I've only been as far as the intersection with S217.
@@gssr1 wonder why... 🤔🤣
This channel is so so so AMAZING!!! Would really like to thank the Admins for bringing such good contents its been months i am glued to this channel♥️😍
Well I’m back at it again. These documentaries get me through my morning shift smoothly 👍👍 good morning everyone 🙂
Id love to see more documentaries about roads that traverse the Himalayan mountain range. Through China, india, and all those countries
Gracias chino, por mostrar lindos paisajes y las personas del final , me isieron echar unas lágrimas por su cariño y sencilles.👏
A learning process, every new documentary surely is . . ! Thank you guys.
I think this film was made several years ago, the road to Tibet is much better now.
*This is among the very best videos to be found on TH-cam! . . .*
I like watching these documentaries from around the world places that I'll never see in person in my life time, thanks for taking along on these dangerous roads.
Bravo Upload..
Safest - Dangerous/ Deadliest Road Thus Far..
Beautiful documentary, loved the landscape.
This channel is nice and wonderful and we wish them success and more videos 🇾🇪🇾🇪🇾🇪👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
One of great documentaries if not the greatest. Informative, educative and first class production from this amazing fearless and committed crew. Keep up the amazing work, very addictive. Big up to the film crew.
Another excellent vlog of dangerous road series. Keep them coming. Thank you. 👍💯🇬🇧
One of my favorite channels for real life in other countries! It's always been a dream to travel and just hangout with locals and learn others cultures! Keep up the great videos and content!
These are my favorite documentaries together with dangerous journeys, I love when it's a ride along with the truck driver or something like that! I have already watched everyone of these in about a week! Also, do you share these documentaries together with "best documentary" channel? Because I've noticed they upload the same documentaries.
Have driven on the other side of the Himalayas in India to a height of 4000 meters and 5000 meters. It is a bloody tough job. Though it was a car not a truck. I feel for these guys. Thnx for uploading this nice video...
Himalayas are tougher side than this.
The heavy snowy capped mountains and terrains make it even harder to live
forget about other things
China is so diverse in terms of cultures and landscapes. Miss you China.
Landscape yes
Cultures no!
@@punns643 if you really visit there you will understand what I say. There are 55 different minorities cultures, Even among Han ethnic groups each small town share something different local culture. Culture for me mean different cuisine, different costume, customs, languages and dialects, heritage and history, beliefs and habit, architecture.
YES! I was looking for this for a months! You remove the old video
I wait all the week for this new documantries. Keep it up guys. And upload more and more deadliest road episodes ❤️❤️
I’ll never complain about traffic again!
That lady picking the bamboo seems like the nicest Chinese person I've never met
Aye
But she eats dogs, cats, pangolins, and bats.
@@gvs6462 People have their own lives. Shame on you who judge other people's lives and hard-working.
Tibetians are not Chinese and don’t eat dogs and cats
Just yaks
Phenomenal...this series is *so* amazing - it's fascinating to see these other cultures and their joys and hardships - we here in the US need to occasionally be reminded of our privilege...excellent video 🔥
these fools are making idols but how will these idols help the uneducated peoples when these idols can't even save themselves. How foolish are these tibetans that's why they are still under chinese rule
Forever grateful thank you so much Free documentary 🥰 cheers from Kenya🇰🇪
Best documentaries ever, keep up the best work😊♥️
Thank you! We intend to.
I don't watch FD video if I can't hear this particular narrator's voice. He just sound soooo credible and just hooks me within few seconds of watching!!
Few years later, the 318 high way is much better now. Most of these high passes are instead of tunnel now. Driving on this road is definitely a pleasure except for national holidays. You can see countless magnificent scenery on this road. This road is the pilgrimage for outdoor enthusiastists such as hiking, cycling and offroad driving. You might meet people who use their unique way to finish their tour like hiking, DIY trolley, even skateboarding, rollerblading. I've encountered a blind guy guided by his friends.

a country that gives you the Kardashians?
@@willengel2458 Anything but just not that.
This video was made about 10 years ago, now this 318 road is way more better than before. No doubt it's the best road in this series even in that time, well constructed and maintained. China has the No.1 infrastructure abilities on the world, that's why they could build the beautiful roads in the most dangerous area.
I salute the guts and courages of these driver heroes half of their body already buried 6 ft.under kudos to the guy too for doing this documentary.
Masterclass in documentary production. Two thumbs up. One of the best on TH-cam.👍👍
Excellent documentary👌🏻👌🏻👍🏻 Love from INDIA 🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳
This was filmed about 10 years ago. Roads are much better now. At least much better than roads in Melbourne and even many chinese cities.
About time the gov't invested in the outdated roads and infrastructure.
Thank you free documentary for giving such a content. I always wanted to see China specially Tibetan region through your lense. I loved this episode because of its simplicity, I can obtain information, I can put myself into the situations in every obstacle which they fell during the entire trip.
Tibet IS NOT a region of China. You should know this given the number of refugees in Dharamasala.
@@keithbentley6081 Politically you are correct but fundamentally Tibet is now a part of China.
