I recently had the opportunity to try out Simplicity's new pair of Electric Scissors. In this video I walk you through how the product works and I show you examples of how it performs while cutting various types of fabrics and materials like poster board, cardboard, duck cloth, denim, acrylic and so many more!

I am new to the crafting and sewing world. I am right handed, i have a old injury in the palm of my hand. When i went to thehospital the cut was very deep. the Dr.sewed it up, i lost the feeling in my thumb and index finger. so whenim cutting things i have to stop because it starts to ache.so this would be a great product for me. Thank you for taking the time to share your talents with us here in the crafting and sewing world.
I loved the cutting tool. I recently began to cut thru my extensive collection of fabric after seeing on of your quilt-alongs. I had been collecting fabric for years, just waiting for the time when I could sew, then you showed me how to get started. I now have 6 quilts ready to be be finished. I am much much more relaxed about my "UFO' as I practice free motion quilting and getting ready. This tool would be great for my applique projects. Thanks for all you do for us newbies.
I have been working on starting a quilting and embroidery business. Making totes, quilts, pillows, and baton cases are a specialty. We have 120 dish towels on the way which need cut in half, gathered and sewed with material for our first craft fair. I am 61 and have a difficult time cutting and use the roller cutter and am disabled in my shoulders and hands from arthritis due to an accident. This would be a wonderful tool for me in my new business. Thank you for the fun on your site.
I recently used it on curves too... It cuts just as smooth you just need to go a little slower to make sure you don't cut off the whole curve. It cuts so fast and smooth that it's all in how you maneuver it. Good luck on the giveaway!

I would love to have a pair of the Simplicity's Electric Scissors! I love to knit and spin, I crochet, and now my 9 year old has been bitten by the fashion bug so I am sewing. I am trying to build up a craft room where Adeline and I can make anything we can dream up and these would be a great addition. Anything that makes it fun helps to keep both of us from getting discouraged when it gets difficult or confusing. I want to pass down the wonderful skills that were given to me by my mother.
The electric scissors reminds me of my husbands power tools, if I win, I would probably understand why he loves them so much. These scissors look awesome! Wonderful demo. I have 5 no-sew fleece blankets to make for grandchildren and these scissors would save my 60-year old hands a lot of aching!!! keep up the good work!
Ages ago I had a pair of electric scissors that were a complete disaster. These appear to be nothing like what my idea of what electric scissors are. These look wonderful and would be a great addition to my crafting supplies. I work in all sorts of mediums; what a versatile product!! I would love it!! Be especially blessed, Kathy
Hi, the Electric scissors will come in handy not only for me, but for my kids. My son is quilting with me and my daughter decorates cakes. To save money, she cuts her cake boards out of cardboard boxes. We are on a tight budget and something like this will help save money by not wasting pieces of fabric or cardboard for that matter. I just got a donation of 50 pairs of jeans and this would be fabulous to cut them and recycle them. Thanks for another wonderful video, I hope we win! -Lynn

Wow what a blessing these scissors would be; I've given up sewing & crafting that required any scissor cutting due to increase arthritis in every joint in my hands, and spine. But zipping quickly through the cutting step would be wonderful!
I'm expecting my first child and I've recently got into the hobby of crafting many different projects for my babygirl and things we need around the house. These scissors would be amazing to have to help me get started with all these craft projects I'm starting!

These electric scissors seem to be greatly improved from the old electric scissors of yesteryear. I was skeptical before I watched the video and thought that I would never use these. You sold me and I want these scissors.
Wow Vanessa you are just a wealth of information. So much can be learned from watching you. I love it, I actually have tried to get several of the items that you have demoed and this is another one to add to my list of items to watch for when they go on sale if I don't win. I have trouble cutting things because of a torn rotator cuff and this would be so helpful. I am so blessed that I have a local quilt shop that helps me cut my big items to a manageable size. I'm in love with this scissors! I'm a student and always crafting around, cutting differnet matterials! A pair of this awesome scissors would make my life easier!!!!!
Loved the scissors and I would like to give it my mom in India who is so fond of crafts and she keeps sending handmade gifts to my kids. Im sure she would put it to good use.
This is super simple and practical. I live in Slovenija, which is quite small country . There are not so many shops, where you could buy tools for crafting. I love sewing and any other crafting,And because I have 4 children (14years, twins 6years and 7months) this scissors would come realy handy to me.

Hi Vanessa! Yet another fantastic product review! Thank you so much! I would love to give these electric scissors a try, but after reading most of the comments already left...I feel they should go to someone that has trouble with their hands. I am not yet at that stage & would love the scissors to go to someone worthy...so that they can continue joying there craft! I'm going to save my pennies & purchase a pair down the road. This is an awesome product. There are some projects that I have never been able to do, due to having a birth defect that causes weakness in my legs, feet, arms, and hands. This product would open a whole new scope of crafting for me. Thanks for the chance in winning one.
I'm sitting in my hand surgeons office as I watch this. I have severe nerve issues with my hands that cause pain when I try to do small tasks, one of which is use scissors. I would Love to give these a try.
My grandchildren spend their afternoons with me. Their teachers assign many projects for them to complete, and scissors like these would be super to have to cut the variety of materials they need to cut. It would eliminate our having to have many different scissors out on the craft table!
As always you bring to us another product that you show us how to use and exactly what it can do. i wouldn't mind winning this because i've had some strokes and my hand is not always strong to cut by rotery cutter. Vanessa, your breezy, easy style of communicating makes it easy to assimilate all information on the products you test out. I do feel I qualify for these sissors as I would use them to create upcycled products i.e. Cutting recycled plastic into ornaments. I'm an artist and have several characters sketched out, just need Simplicity's remarkable rechargeable sissors to cut them out!

These scissors are just awesome! I am a crafter and found your website by mistake looking for craft sites through google. Thank goodness! I check your site weekly for posts. I make a lot of baby items like boutique burp cloths, changing pads, I sew diaper bags, make diaper cakes, and do embroidered onesies. So these scissors would come in handy. I am praying for a craft cottage like the one you finished this year. But that will come later, it would be great to win the scissors for now.
I don't deserve these scissors anymore than anyone else, but I would love to have a pair! Maybe since they look so easy to use and look like they'd be much more fun to cut with, I'd get a lot more of my projects done!

I love DIY projects and always dread cutting through thicker material like cardboard. Every time I try to cut through thick cardboard, the edges never come out straight and always end up bent. I'd love to win this giveaway so I could continue writhing on DIY projects that involve different materials with different textures/thickness. It wouldn't let me post anymore so had to break in 2. I was diagnosed in September with Multiple Myloma, cancer of plasma so I stepped down from job but needed something to occupy my time. Thanks for teaching me to sew. You have no idea how much you have helped me!

Many of the other commenters 'deserve' these scissors, if I'm to be completely honest. Why I would want to win them is easier - they are easy to use, reduce strain on hand/wrist muscles, and overall speed up craft projects. I really enjoyed your review, very thorough.
Those are awesome! Time! Something we all need. I think they would save me time on all my sewing and scrapbooking. I recently gave birth to my third child and although they're all a blessing time is not on my side!
That was the most amazing pair of scissors I have seen in a long time. I have 3 other pairs of ones the promise to do the same things but all of the blade broke the second I tried to use them on anything like leather or denim. I work with vinyl and leather mostly and its costing me a small fortune in scissors. even if I didn't win the free pair I would still need to buy this one!! Thanks for the update!!
i have been sewing since i was 10 and i LOVE it and i am very crafty with making earrings and type of stuff like that. the problem is. is that since they're are 10 people living at my house all the scissors are always gone and i can't ever find them! So i often have to wait for another day to finish my project. i would really really enjoy having this Bc it would work great for my sewing blankets for cutting out the letters and stuff! I've been really getting into crafting in the year or so and I would love this! I really can't afford to buy higher end tools and this would help a TON with cutting through the denim when I recycle them for projects.
I wouldn't say I Deserve but I'd lie to win the simplicity electric scissors simply because I do a lot of cardboard crafting with my daughter for decor and I've actually resorted to only using kitchen scissors since I've managed to break every other pair of crafting scissor suitable for cardboard. I feel like this is a safe alternative to a razor blade especially when crafting with a seven year old. Thanks for reviewing these so that even if I don't win I can put them on my wish list!!
It is too bad that there is only one, it looks like so many people could use them. I have lupus and fibromalgia so I am always hurting at one place or another. Scrapbooking, painting and sewing are my favorite pastimes to help keep my mind off my problems and pain. I think these scissors are really awesome and will be a blessing to many people. wow what really impressed me about the simplicity electric scissors was how easily it cut through the hem on the denim, wow mind blown. I would LOVE to win one of these because I do heaps of craft (lots of sewing and paper crafts) and fairly often I have to stop due to my hand aching like crazy, this would be a huge benefit to my work space :)

How well can you cut curved lines....in your video, you very helpfully cut through many different types and thicknesses of products, but you did not try to cut a curved pattern, for example...that would be very helpful to see...THANKS!!
I´m starting a career on textile design, so I´ll be doing great stuff with those scissors, my outfits and other stuff I do are gonna be easier and leaner with that amazing device
Those scissors are so amazing! I could totally use them to cut cardboard to make 'bolts' to wrap my fabric on for easier storage :)

I love to craft but when we moved this year i lost all most all of my crafting stuff and have not had the money to replace any of it. These would be a great start regaining some crafting items and could be used in so many ways.
I would love these scissors! I am a beginner at sewing and I'm getting frustrated with my scissors. I cut crooked and my edges are jagged which makes me sew the seams crooket too. Thanks for your great videos, very helpful for beginner like me :)

I do so many crafts with so many different materials! Those scissors would be awesome for all of my cutting needs. Often times I'll do crafts that require many cuts and that would keep my hands from hurting. Plus I would say they could help keep carpel tunnel at bay.

What an amazing product.. I have been crafting for years and they wear and tear on my right hand has resulted in Carpal tunnel. I may not deserve to win them but I sure would love to win them. How exciting! It's amazing how products have improved over the years. Twenty or more years ago there was a pair of electric scissors that were made by Ronco or some other television marketing company. They only worked for notebook paper. These Simplicity Scissors look like they cut everything. I need a pair of these in my craft/sewing room.
THose are awesome. Boy would that save my hands. Although I use the rotary cutter most of the time for fabric.. those scissors would really be a blessing. I like the idea with the denim.. could have used them when I used old jeans to make a friend a quilt.

Love these!! With age and from sewing and crafting since I was 7 (im now 52) my hands just dont work the way they use to! I dread having to cut patterns out. I wish you had done some curves and some hair pin cuts to see if they bind on the heaver material perhaps you can do an update. Love your videos! Tammy
Oh, aren't they wonderful!! I tried some electric scissors a few years ago and they were nothing like these............These would certainly work well for all the denim rag quilts I have talked myself into making for people.

really really like this tool it's amazing. Great demonstration, it would make my life much easier. Especially having a one year old, with my cheap scissers it takes me at least months to finish one projet. Love it, want it !
I am an elementary school teacher, and I spend hours each week cutting out materials for my 97 students. This would save my hands from getting more calluses and blisters!
This would help me out so much! I have MS and love to sew, but using scissors to cut fabric is sometimes a bit of a challenge for my hands. This great tool would be so helpful and a good addition to my sewing projects!
Omg I am amazed by that! I love to craft but my cutting for fabrics is so off using many rulers and a rotary cutter this would def help me!

I would love to try them. I'm an old school sewer. I tried these back in the day and they did not cut as smooth as you just demostrated.
Okay, I love this because I have some christmas presents to finish that will be going to Puerto Rico to my grandkids this year. I really need these because as you said it's hard to hold your fabric up to cut and keep a straight line and going through layers. Thanks, Ann
Sorry, I didn't finish my comment. I've had 3 surgeries on my hand in January. With therapy I have gotten the feeling and most of the use of that hand back, but I have pain and as yet have trouble cutting among my limitations. I have sewn, crafted, quilted and so on for most of my life and now I can no longer make a living in that field but these scissors would help me to be able to sew for my grandchildren winning these will help get my Christmas gifts done in time, pain free.
