In Curse of Strahd, I'm playing a Firbolg Lycan Bloodhunter who's werewolf half was an entirely different person at one point, but the two were merged together by torturous experimentation in a place called 'the Abbey' (think an insane asylum, mixed with a mad scientist lab, and a church) to become a mindless, super-powered werewolf that would be the ultimate vampire killing machine. This didn't work, and now I essentially am playing a two-in-one character with very different personalities who are united in their goal to kill 'the Abbott', who did this to them in the first place and runs the Abbey, so the Abbott can't hurt anyone the way they hurt my character. A really food build would be Lycan Bloodhunter/Swashbuckler rogue. Since your claws are finesse they count for Sneak Attack and with Fancy Footwork you always get Sneak Attack while in a 1v1
I don't think they are actually stated as finesse (despite giving the choice of dex or strength, it's the same with monk weapons, just because you can choose between dex or strength doesn't mean it has the finnesse trait. Otherwise I would definately dip monk if I'll ever play dhampir rogue), can you look again just to make sure, cause it would be pretty cool with swashbuckler.

So, I recently helped a DM with creating some pre-generated characters for drop in oneshots, and this class and subclass can be really scary, and also thematically fitting, for a triple class in a level 5 character. Order of the Lycan 3, Hunger Sorcerer 1, Hunter in the Dark Warlock 1(both the warlock and Sorcerer subclasses are in Tome of Heroes). You know when an enemy is blow half health, when you kill an enemy, you heal equal to your Sorcerer level + charisma and cause enemies within 30 feet of the enemy you killed, to make a wisdom save equal to your warlock spell save DC or be frightened of you until the end of your next turn. It works stupidly well with Fallen Aasimar, given the additional sources of fear. Cause Fear and Hex as warlock spells, Mage armour and Shield as Sorcerer spells. If you have a Hide armour, Mage armour and Shield, with a dex of 12, you'll have an AC between 17 and 19 in combat, whilst being a melee blender and CC specialist, who has minor self healing. Myself and the DM were giggling like fucking madman the entire time we were making this character. And for an extra flair of fear factor, due to the celestial aspect of the race we chose, the transformation has an uncomfortable amount of eyes. Marie Gascoigne is a fucking Menace of a build, and it's only going to get worse as they level up between oneshots.
My Lycan attacks with custom claw weapons (mechanically Shortswords) and deals with Fey-Touched (Hunters Mark) and Gift of the chromatic dragon 1d6 (Weapon) + 1d6 (Rite) + 1d6 (HM) + 1 (Transformation) + 1d4 (Gift) + Dex Damage. Twice per round. And with his offhand attack everything except the 1d4 again (With a +3 Dex that is 50.5 damage/round on average if all three attacks hit) Downside, he fails his Bloodlust automatically because of HM so the Wizard is paste
I made a wendigo lycan I tied its transformation to his hunger and the amount of fresh meat around so he could even turn involuntarily if he was out of combat. He only fights with all of his abilities if he consumed sentient flesh
