POP-UP TRUCK CAMPER TOUR | 1992 SKAMPER 060S

Hey everyone! I recently bought this pop-up truck camper and I plan on using it! I have only camped once or twice in my life and never alone in a truck camper! I plan on hitting the road one day but for now I will just learn the ropes. Here's a quick walkthrough tour of the camper. Let me know what you all think, anything I can improve? Bro, be careful with the roof coming down on you. I had it happened to me and it sucks. There is a latch on the right side of the track that locks it. After it came down on me I opened it all the way and drill holes on the arms and put a pin for extra safety. I love my Skamper but that shit was scary!

Tool bag full of automotive and a tool bag for camper. Doesnt have to be the whole tool box yah know just common stuff that'll be used more often for the rig. Small air compressor 150psi would be fine and I keep my ryobi impact with me, and a good ol bottle jack to lift the heavier weight you have now. Happy camping fella

I have a scamper 080s made in 87. Mine has a kick ass heating that runs off the propane. I took out the little window in the back and installed a air conditioner. I bought a 2 gallon pump up sprayer and put a kitchen sprayer on the end to use for a shower with one of the collapsable stand up tents. I just got home from bike week in Daytona last week. I trailed my Harley. That’s what’s good about a slide in. It leaves your hitch so you can tow a trailer.

Extra propane, pots and pans, water cans, self recovery ramps Incase inna jam, good blankets, good torch/fire starter! Love the channel also from nh!

A nice canvas awning or 10 x 10 pop up tent with camp chairs would be a nice addition to provide some shade and allow you to hang outside the camper. As far as camping essentials it all starts with bug spray.

Just pickup a 1992 skamper and so excited to take it out for a winter over nighter, just need to hookup a battery for the propane furnace. I have a 2007 ford f350 rides like a lumber truck, but the 1600lb skamper weights it down, no match though for the 6.0 lite diesel. I bought this so could leave top down and stretch out on the dinette.

@@FiveAcreFarm not yet. Winter just ended tho so won't be long. Hopefully a couple weeks at most ill be out.. already did all the fixings on it.. sanitizing the fresh water tank, checking all propane lines and what not. Not just trying to decide on solar panels or generator haha

@@dandagamer2238 I have to build a platform for it to sit on, right now I have it on old pallets. After that I need to figure out the turnbuckle situation, and then I want to sure up the raising/lowering mechanism. Nothing is easy!
