Recently started watching your vids and was wondering if you could help me figure out a Rebuke of the Vaal sword build.....I'd like great clear and boss killable...I'm unsure of the melee skill i want to try...maybe inquisitor vaal double strike for clear? I'm not really sure if you answer theory craft questions like this so i apologize in advance. Thank you for your time sir, -Alavar
Nice video Nathan! :) But damn, I'm just farming monoliths so that other players have enough emblems? Which of these builds could also do the 5-emblem legion encounter? Without HH I mean...
Any of these builds "can do" that encounter- the challenge is optimizing them to the point of making it a good investment of your time/currency to do so. I could be wrong, but I highly doubt there are ANY builds out there that should be running 5 army encounters (rather than doing something like what I showcased in this video) without a headhunter.
For a more practical answer - “doing” the 5-army encounter is possible for any decent build. But the loot you get is determined by how much mayhem and carnage you managed to inflict in the time given. That means: 1) if you want to experience it, or just challenge yourself from time to time to get more than you did last time/s, by all means do it, and it’s fun; However - 2) since the price someone is willing to pay depends on what he/she can get from it, and that the people who can get the most tend to buy the highest number of emblems, the price is determined by the HH+support people, so farming it for profit is more difficult for anyone else. 3) summary: the video talks about what you should probably do to farm and grind for profit. Any content can be done for fun, but you likely wouldn’t want to grind it, that’s all.
@@grolich That's a very good explanation. :) Once I got a better weapon I'll try it for fun and the experience...but I'll probably end up selling at least the more expensive emblems. The cheap one's will probably not really net any profit compared to doing the enounter myself.
Hey bud. Your fireball trickster, you mentioned that you can play it as a Deadeye. What would the tree look like if Deadeye was the option to go. I have a Deadeye char i made but stopped playing it and wast to change it to the fireball you playing. But ofcourse, don't know how to go about the tree etc.
What a strange video. You show a TS character breaking out what looks like less than half of the legion mobs and killing them incredibly slowly while saying "as you can see it still clears these monoliths scarily well". Then you go on to list all of the expensive things you need to make TS efficient. Then you go on to show Essence Drain, which on a 30c budget can break out and kill the entire legion packs in two combos if done right. Even if you get all the expensive requirements you wont get close to the number of monoliths per hour as TS. And yet for unexplained reasons you argue that TS is the best low tier legion farmer in the game. I would argue non-MF TS is the worst out of all the ones you listed. There is absolutely no reason at all to go TS unless you are going Windripper. You don't need MF gear to farm monoliths but TS without MF is strictly a slower, more expensive, more click intensive Monolith farming build than Essence Drain or Vaal Ice Nova. It's a compromise without a reward. Great production quality though, thumbs up.
"There is absolutely no reason at all to go TS unless you are going Windripper. You don't need MF gear to farm monoliths but TS without MF is strictly a slower, more expensive, more click intensive Monolith farming build than Essence Drain or Vaal Ice Nova. It's a compromise without a reward. " This is just plain wrong. The click intensiveness, yeah, thats true, the rest? Not at all. TS is so misunderstood, I cleared t9-10 monoliths with ease on SSF without helm enchant, QoTF, Dying sun and windripper. Windripper which i got later was even a downgrade in dmg since it's not meant for dmg. All you need is deadeye, the tempest or another bow with decent dmg (I used Deaths opus and chin sol which both did all content) and just some actual dmg on gear. People always forget to get small amounts of dmg on gear when gearing chars and it's vital for a bow char to get that. The reason people always say that you need all the MS/MF gear is because TS scales really, really well with gear, but it is not in anyway required, thats like saying you cant play cyclone this league without either disfavour/starforge or a 500pdps foil.
non MF ts and mf TS is probably the best legion farmer yes... BUT the gear for Mf is like 50+ ex and the gear for non mf is like 100+ ex So ts op but u need expensive ass items to make it op
*crying in lacerate gladiator* to get those clear achivs i need to either go cyclone (bleedsplosion and challenger charged can be finally maintaned on legion encouncers) or get claws of anguish and frostblades
i disagree that you need to invest in a socketed gems bow to scale ED to end-game levels. I was able to very quickly phase uber atziri, pop her clones before any shennanigans, and very quickly phase shaper with my ~10c wand.
@@korenn9381 very well... im still low level, but I have the weapon required to run Flicker at level 28... it gets through the monoliths very well... im new to game and im doing pretty damn good with it
@@korenn9381 it doesnt clear it that well later. You'll be getting stuck on 1 or a few mobs while trying to jump to another part of the mobs. I got flicker, cyclone and ed cont/ soulrend+bane. Ed cont then cyclone, then soulrend. In that order. Im not even using my flicker guy anymore
My ED Contagion Trickster can 2 taps clear t16 Legion as well. All you need is a 6 link multicraft bow with +1 gem, +2 support gem, and empower lv4. It is still my best t16 legion farming build thus far, though I do not like the playstyle that much. It can do every single mod combination regardless of how rippy it is on a t16 fully sextant map.
4:34 Well, i'm still using a self-crafted 6l and Wand+the new shield with AOE and i did all content, including Uber Elder... I died a couple of times and it takes some time to kill the big bosses, but its not that bad... ED+Cont is just SO GOOD! U can shot it and just run in circles without a worry in the world kk' (It was my league starter and i used it to open all the Atlas too)
I disagree with the "socketed gems bow" on ED + cont. It was my league starter and I did uber elder and shaper with huge ease multiple times with 1 EX wand.
Static strike needs zero investmwnt. U just need an inc duration helmet enchant and an inc duration gem which will make your static strike last long enough to break all the monsters out. And since i was a slayer the aoe radius was big enough so that i don't have to worry about missing anything.. You don't need phase run as ur damage is gonna be overkill so easily. And so if you use a sword you can add close combat to static strike. Which gives you the synergy of having a perma attack speed boost for leap slam. Also you van equip an inpulsa. Because why not. Also static strike scales really well Right now. Dps wise you can easily move to top tiers. The only problem with the skill is that you need to get close to get that one hit which could be super deadly against the legion rares. Anyway as far as glacier farming goes. Static strike slayer with an inpulsa can easily be one of the fastest. Just not as flashy as those magma orb / ice nova builds.
Iv been doing perm shaper stronghold on elder orb beach with my ed contagion build i can do about 300k dot with every ed shot and do a map every 2 min or so lots og exp now im on level 97 and. 90% of the way to a headhunter to start a new build with :)
Flicker monolith farming sounds like an anxiety attack. IMO anything other than ed contagion or ice nova is a waste of time. They both one shot the map.
i actually played essence drain and still have tabula rasa , and no uniques yet , i did a tier 15 map and i did it quite easily aside rare monolith summons, i have lvl 89 and i got 140 map completion and ran over 450 maps aand i still havent dropped an exalt , so far legion been garbage for me , but essencedrain if u play properly can be done in red maps with not too much effort
That would be people that craft a foil ( 14 range) with an essence (+3 range) with AoE scaling on tree and possibly slayer as ascendancy, getting a massive AoE...Oh and ofcourse Headhunter for even more AoE when you get the "Massive" mod.
@@Fj4LiFe23 nah it was my 3rd character I just got bored of the other two. First character in maps and did shaper on about 50c investment. Unfortunately I play on Xbox and don't really plan my trees before hand. It's just a sab with bow crit life and evasion with the notable trap nodes. Kinda squishy not hardcore viable.
Tf? Why would you need a Tornado enchant for farming T1 or T2 monolith ... you wont even need a 6L for that (not to mention that IceShot with full chain will be much more efficient) ... only thing that's mandatory would be a lioneye's Fall + a decent bow. If you wanna go higher tiers that of course is another page of the book but still there will be a lot of cheaper ways to boost damage before you have to go for a tornado enchant lol. And also Frostblades can go t16 easy without having to invest more than 2-3 ex's, been my starter for the last 6 leagues
Don't be fooled. Magic find isnt worthless while monolith farming. While it might not affect every chest you open, it affects every other mob in the map you kill. And if you're someone farming glacier, you kill every mob on the first floor whether you want to or not when popping the monolith. Yes you can make great money without magic find gear monolith farming, but don't think for a second that it just doesn't matter and doesn't play a part at all as the video seems to suggest. I mean this with the least amount of hostility possible, but don't take every single word as fact from someone who showcases their own tornado shot in the build that doesn't even clear a third of the monolith.
Since I am a stubborn jackass who hates relying on other people & trade systems to play the game, I pretty much ran a AoF Firestorm build for the entirety of story mode with some help from HFT, Aura Flammability & HoF. Perhaps I can add Magma Orb into the mix. Endgame-viable? Probably not. But at least I can take a look at my first playthrough of this great game & not feel like I wasted my time. Oh, and I can thank RNG for handing me whatever my build needed.
I'm doing that with Shock Nova & Arc Mjolnir... and just shredding screens. OFC, getting the stupid high life that streamers seem to attain as easily as waking up in the morning has always proven rather impossible for me.
Amzar Nacht hmm that’s true for some, but mathil’s version of shock+ice nova has a really realistic and low hp that should be obtainable without multi ex worth of pieces of gear. Running it now on one of my characters.
@@grolich If I reach 4k life on a char that's specced for it, with life on every piece of gear, I'll call it a lucky thing. I've tried for years to figure out how the f* to get my life pool up and actually still play the game... and failed, at pretty much every turn. It's either damage, or life, never both.
Amzar Nacht I have to say I wholeheartedly disagree on the “never both” part. Usually with a few c on each gear piece you can get a decent life/resist piece for every rare (except weapon and sometimes amulet). Life only takes one prefix, and resists are suffices... so plenty of room other mods. As long as you avoid the mistake of shoving more uniques into the build than you absolutely have to, and make sure to get high life rolls, not just any rolls, should be fine. Did that on Mathil’s build. Didn’t even use the mark of the shaper ring, my staff is not even close to his, and one less link, and it’s fine on damage still, with all rares except the helmet. Still makes elder portals vanish. Close to his life numbers, which most players would consider low. I don’t want to sound condescending, so instead of just saying it should work if you do it well, can you link to a build you are playing/played that gave you that problem? flicker is a skill you either like or hate, but i was clearing about 85- 100 % of legions in elder t16 maps with it
Spectral shield throw with the new threshold jewel and gloomfang. Pooof pooof pooof very satisfying
I second this... SST is so good for Legion farming, specially cold conversion. I can freeze rares from monoliths in red tiers which makes then very safe to run
What do you think about totem freezing pulse ?
Decent, due to the high damage and auto targeting nature of totems, but not as strong as the options on this list specifically for monolith farming.
wait why would deadeye be good for cylone? it makes no sense if you want the tailwind effects just go gladiator
Ahoy Nathan! Recently started watching your vids and was wondering if you could help me figure out a Rebuke of the Vaal sword build.....I'd like great clear and boss killable...I'm unsure of the melee skill i want to try...maybe inquisitor vaal double strike for clear? Totally unsure of the class choice or single target .I've got a bunch of Phys to lightning conv gear i saved from a vaal EQ slayer i made and was wondering if this gear would work with Rebuke swords....I have inpulsa chest as well. I'm not really sure if you answer theory craft questions like this so i apologize in advance. Thank you for your time sir, -Alavar
Where's the fireball info?!?! Need some of that
Nice video Nathan! :)
But damn, I'm just farming monoliths so that other players have enough emblems? Which of these builds could also do the 5-emblem legion encounter? Without HH I mean...
Any of these builds "can do" that encounter- the challenge is optimizing them to the point of making it a good investment of your time/currency to do so. I could be wrong, but I highly doubt there are ANY builds out there that should be running 5 army encounters (rather than doing something like what I showcased in this video) without a headhunter.
For a more practical answer - “doing” the 5-army encounter is possible for any decent build. But the loot you get is determined by how much mayhem and carnage you managed to inflict in the time given.
That means:
1) if you want to experience it, or just challenge yourself from time to time to get more than you did last time/s, by all means do it, and it’s fun; However -
2) since the price someone is willing to pay depends on what he/she can get from it, and that the people who can get the most tend to buy the highest number of emblems, the price is determined by the HH+support people, so farming it for profit is more difficult for anyone else.
3) summary: the video talks about what you should probably do to farm and grind for profit. Any content can be done for fun, but you likely wouldn’t want to grind it, that’s all.
@@grolich That's a very good explanation. :)
Once I got a better weapon I'll try it for fun and the experience...but I'll probably end up selling at least the more expensive emblems. The cheap one's will probably not really net any profit compared to doing the enounter myself.
Hey I'd really like a deadeye pastebin for the fireball character you were talking about, not sure if trickster or deadeye is better.
Hey bud. Your fireball trickster, you mentioned that you can play it as a Deadeye. What would the tree look like if Deadeye was the option to go. I have a Deadeye char i made but stopped playing it and wast to change it to the fireball you playing. But ofcourse, don't know how to go about the tree etc.
Did he mention Berserker on the cyclone builds?

This is just plain wrong.
BUT the gear for Mf is like 50+ ex and the gear for non mf is like 100+ ex So ts op but u need expensive ass items to make it op
if you want pobs on MF and non MF to see how expensive im talking lemme know
champion impale ts is sick
elaborate on that fireball build of yours my man
Always gonna be ED Contagion or Vaal Ice Nova for legion clears.
question. the vaal ice nova for cyclone, should i link it with the cyclone skill? or just cast on crit + vaal ice nova will work?
Needs an attack in the links
ED / Contagion doesn't always tag entire Legion. It rarely happens actually. :/
vaal spark / val fireball?
*crying in lacerate gladiator* to get those clear achivs i need to either go cyclone (bleedsplosion and challenger charged can be finally maintaned on legion encouncers) or get claws of anguish and frostblades
Flickers strike:D
yup im one of those
i disagree that you need to invest in a socketed gems bow to scale ED to end-game levels.
I was able to very quickly phase uber atziri, pop her clones before any shennanigans, and very quickly phase shaper with my ~10c wand.
Im loving Flicker Strike right now
how well does it clear the legions?
You forgot herald of ice autobomber. Works almost as well as Vaal Ice Nova and only costs 10x as much to get going 😂
4:34 Well, i'm still using a self-crafted 6l and Wand+the new shield with AOE and i did all content, including Uber Elder... I died a couple of times and it takes some time to kill the big bosses, but its not that bad... ED+Cont is just SO GOOD! U can shot it and just run in circles without a worry in the world kk' (It was my league starter and i used it to open all the Atlas too)
Mjolner feels buttery smooth.
how do i open or read the build in pastebin for your fireball.magma orb build ?
you have to download path of building, easy to find just google it
I disagree with the "socketed gems bow" on ED + cont. It was my league starter and I did uber elder and shaper with huge ease multiple times with 1 EX wand.
Same. Only really need a multimod bow if you're doing high-red maps. For whites/yellows that a lot of people are farming, a wand is more than enough.
Just not as flashy as those magma orb / ice nova builds.
elemental hit is much better than tornado shot for legions, it also require "less" gear to get going properly
ED contagions with 10-15 chaos gear breaks all mobs with one combo and then one after they are free to kill them... but it is boring as hell.
Good Video and good greenscreen, hope u can make enough doe to keep the quality up!
Iv been doing perm shaper stronghold on elder orb beach with my ed contagion build i can do about 300k dot with every ed shot and do a map every 2 min or so lots og exp now im on level 97 and. 90% of the way to a headhunter to start a new build with :)
Can you share your build please?
@@edgardomartin8299 after i get home i will write a simple guide but its not that special similar to lots of builds
Flicker doesn't get enough love!
Flicker monolith farming sounds like an anxiety attack. IMO anything other than ed contagion or ice nova is a waste of time. They both one shot the map.
@@JoshG5110 It's not that bad really. Might not be as effective as ED or Ice nova, but at least it beats TS.
NO vaal Arc build ? :O
i actually played essence drain and still have tabula rasa , and no uniques yet , i did a tier 15 map and i did it quite easily aside rare monolith summons, i have lvl 89 and i got 140 map completion and ran over 450 maps aand i still havent dropped an exalt , so far legion been garbage for me , but essencedrain if u play properly can be done in red maps with not too much effort
Why do I see people that have their cyclone cover the whole screen?
That would be people that craft a foil ( 14 range) with an essence (+3 range) with AoE scaling on tree and possibly slayer as ascendancy, getting a massive AoE...Oh and ofcourse Headhunter for even more AoE when you get the "Massive" mod.
Scourge arrow is pretty easy to clear
Mjolnir cast while channeling double arc setup is realy good with vaal arc in main link use cyclone
Can you give me some more info on Fire ball/magma orb builds plz
No lightning trap?
No trapper build?
nice tips, thx!
The real reason Lee Syatt left the podcast
Anyone got a good deadeye fireball build link?
My best farmer by far is a doomfletch prism trapper with LA clear, Puncture single target
sounds interesting, you run it as a starter? got a PoB?
Shhhh, people haven't noticed Doomfletch...shhh
@@Fj4LiFe23 nah it was my 3rd character I just got bored of the other two. First character in maps and did shaper on about 50c investment. Unfortunately I play on Xbox and don't really plan my trees before hand. It's just a sab with bow crit life and evasion with the notable trap nodes. Kinda squishy not hardcore viable.

white map chimera distracted me, like what??
No love for lightning trapper sabo? :(
Just put vaal ice nova on your trap/mine and GG
Im playing Vaal Arc miner and it clean monolith easely
btw, cleared all the game with assa frostblade, with anguish, and not that much of an investment...
Fireball Mines Sab with Tremor Rod. Pretty good, and no targeting involved :)
Yeah, that was actually my original build before I decided to meme with Pledge of Hands Trickster lol
Scourge Arrow Slayer
Kinetic Blast Pathfinder full phys to cold conversion.
I mean this with the least amount of hostility possible, but don't take every single word as fact from someone who showcases their own tornado shot in the build that doesn't even clear a third of the monolith.
i clear very fast the monolith with my lightning trap build
Does monolith in act 1-10 have same drops currency drop rate than glacier monolith?
Fireball is better on Deadeye with Betlimber Blade x2 :D Insane Legion clear, 2 seconds done :D

No Spark? ='(
I think not including a spark inquisitor on this list was a pretty big L, sorry :(
Poison prolif pathfinder scourge arrow good too, and can scailing for endgame (2m shaper dps with 6 ex gear)
Need lightning trap on here
Sigh. I miss kinetic blast soooooo much.
2.4k hp ...is this soft core?
I think the best by far is vaal ice nova/ shock nova. Insane aoe. Watch your pc lag
@@grolich same here im just using what drops and its feeling smoother that ed/contaigon
Looking at your character in your profile might enable me to give more useful advice if I can. If you don’t want your profile name public here, send me a private message here if you want. I hope you find a way to make it work since I haven’t run into this problem.
yo man im new to path of exile and idk what to do can you make a beginners guide?
I can if there is enough demand, but the reason I haven't yet is because Grimro has already made so much fantastic content on the topic. Go check his stuff out, and if you still have questions, let me know!
Man imma beginner also... n to be honest, you just have to jump into it and play around with skills and setup... levelling is slow, I mean really slow. But keep at it and just grind grind grind... definitely learn the vendor recipes cuz they help a lot with currency
as a begginner :
1) cap your res
2) get around 300-400hp per act (if you have less, you might die more)
3) get a decent hitting skill (you should be killing white mobs in 3 hits or less, ideally one shotting)
4) get a 4-5 link for your main skill asap, even if it's a white item, throw a low tier essence or alchemy orb on it.
5) don't use chaos, exalted, annulation, and divine orbs unless you know what you are doing (they are somewhat valuable)
6) you won't but if you drop a mirror, send a screenshot to your friends that have been playing the game for 5 years and enjoy the show.
7) use at least the default lootfilter (options-ui) or get a default one from filterblade or whatever, it'll hide the trash items.
8) R-G-B linked items give you chromatic orbs.
misc utility :
use the taunting totem or spell totem + summon skeletons (if you have an extra 3-4 link give the skellies more minion damage and blind, it's actually a decent dps on bosses).
takes aggro away from you
cast when damage taken (CWDT) - guard skill (immortal call, molten shell or steelskin)(- increased duration)
staple defensive links, it avoids "one shots" by fast hitting mobs (porcupines)
CWDT-tempest shield - blind if you have a shield gives you a nice defense boost and blinds enemies
leap slam- endurance charge on melee stun - fortify (-faster attacks)
leap slam stuns enemies on full life giving you red charges which reduce damage taken, and fortify reduces damage taken again.
culling strike support on a secondary hitting skill
