hello, l have found this tutorial really helpful and would like to congratulate you on it. I have have played with the animations before but l figured there must of been some way to make a animation look like that the drawing is actually building itself as well. I just have a few questions tho. (l have uploaded my animation on my page called 'laser mock up').
hi Niall Kelly your video has given me a new touch of animating thanks a lot and 2nd thing i wanted to ask you that if I want to export this kind of animation in v ray with render in mp 4 format then what should i do ? I hope you will answer my query M.Q.Khan
in your video your sections cuts are hidden but when l exported mine the section cut lines are still there, lm assuming l have un ticked or not un ticked a box somewhere but l cant seem to find it?
Sorry to be so critical, I do believe that you have developed a superior technique compared to others. But the lack of a narration, the distracting music and disjointed and seemingly unconnected script vs on screen cursor action was confusing. I had to turn off the music volume, stop trying to watch the location of the courser and concentrate on reading and absorbing the the sequence of commands outlined by the script to understand the command sequence. Most designers move their cursor in a haphazard fashion, almost as if searching for the next command so highlighting it as it moves randomly searching for a spot to stop and input a command is almost universal. If you added some narration the random searching of the cursor would make more sense to most learners.
Well, I didn't come here to complain, but as I read this, the last left comment, I realized that I had to agree: for me, too, reading the subtitles to understand made it almost impossible to simultaneously track what was being done with the CURSOR. So I had to rerun things a number of times - big deal. My problem is not with your presentation, per se, except that it's EXTREMELY MADDENING to TRY to follow your instructions only to find out that MINE DOESN'T BEHAVE LIKE THIS AT ALL!!! Bleep! Having drawn up this project for clients/friends, I hoped to animate it to help them visualize. It's turned out to be so ridiculously DIFFICULT - because, though I've watched enough video demos to understand the task at hand, there seem to be slight differences in these demos -- perhaps due to version changes over time. Whatever the trick is, I'm not finding it! But thanks, anyway.
out of all the you tube videos out there about section cuts this is by far the best. :) thanks
Thank you so much. Even my teacher didn't know this was possible

Excelent explanation!
Great
nice tutorial. just one advice, I think it is better for you to have your voice recorded than the music and have your viewers read.
Place the section plane IN the group or component.
why sketchup can cut one object.?
Thank you!
