I have an 032AV that I bought 40 years ago when I graduated high school. Been through countless chains, and minor repairs. Damn thing seems to be bullet proof. As far as I'm concerned, it's the best saw Stihl ever produced.
I've had my 032 for about 30 years...and it still runs great. It did need a new carb about 15 years ago, but ever since then it always starts right up.
My dad had an 032 AV that he had since whenever they were made. 1970s I think, that thing was an animal. Sad part about it is, it fell off the back of the truck and accidentally got backed over. Great saw though.
@@TREEKILLER90 I have gotten a bug for old saws and working on them. Of this pair, the non running one has no spark so likely it needs points and condenser. I might try retrofit an electronic ignition on it. Overall it looks to be the better saw but missing a cover and handle piece and no luck yet finding them. I'm in no hurry. Both saws have good compression and cylinders look good.
+Brandon Motta on this job we are cutting pulp wood for the local paper mills. And if the tree is nice and decently straight. We can cut saw logs out of them down to 6" on the small end and 12'4" long or 16'4" on larger trees. If the tree is over 22" in diameter they get cut at 8'8" for saw logs. Some of these logs can also go for cabin logs as for the land the property owner wanted a clear cut done. Doesn't want any trees on his property but it will re seed naturally and there are alot of saplings already growing.
nice video. what boots are you wearing in this video? Maybe you can give us a better look at them in a future video? Also wondering if you have tried the Stihl orange rubber chainsaw boots? I really like them and would be interested to get your take on them.
+Mountainview Ranch don't laughter too hard. There just old worn out ariat square toe cowboy boots haha. I haven't had any experience with the stihl boots yet but in the future I'd like to get a pair as being a stihl product they should be a good boot.
Woah! I like the cowboy boots, but they're not suitable for wearing with a chainsaw! You should go to your nearest Stihl dealer and get some rubber chainsaw boots and some chainsaw pants. That way you'll be protected if you have an accident. The chain will go right through those cowboy boots and your work pants if it slips. You would really like the stihl rubber boots, they're awesome.

Just picked up a pair of these old West Germany saws for cheap. Got one good runner and 1 for parts. Can't wait to get one in the woods.
They are a excellent saw for what they are. The biggest down fall is the points are hard to find if they go bad. I think you will be pleased with it

Best place for parts that I see for these model saws is on Facebook chainsaw groups. The electronic ignitions seem to work fine on them
