- Some morning QRP DX from a bayside location slightly different to my home QTH. About 10km away it has less noise. 14 MHz SSB. Longpath USA, short path Europe.

Excellent location with great results Peter... Dave G4AKC
Great job! You gotta love the old FT-8XX radios and the band conditions.
Thanks Peter! As always very interesting. However, not all radio amateurs live near salt water, and some also live in forests. Under such conditions
QSO over 4000 km. with 5 watts great success..
Great job Peter
Peter great vid. Gives hope to new QRP operators!
Great session and video as always Peter. I find the forecast rarely makes much odds to greyline IMHO
fantastic Peter. Certainly working well with the low power. Lovely location. 73.
Great efforts Peter. Nice contacts.
I am yet to get my 817 the beach 🏖
Motters M7TRS 73 👍🏻
love your work Peter
I’m 800 metres from the beach and have setup my squid pole ready to go. Thanks for the motivation. I plan on driving to car park which is 6 metres above the sand and water and hope to get the good results you get. Alas my ft-818 is allergic to the salt so I will be working out of the car.
Ps have you tried a balloon or is that too risky under the current political environment. Keep up the good work.
Power failures are great for local noise floor. Of course you'd need a battery.
You’re obviously an early riser too!
Nice oldschool videocam.
How do you recognize shortpath or longpath?
What time you was on the beach?
The other station (if they've got a beam) will usually tell you which way they are pointing. The video includes shots of my watch so you can see the time.
What aerial were you using, Peter?
end fed full wavelength inverted vee
@@vk3ye How does this antenna compare to the end fed half wave antenna Peter? Interesting, must try one.
@@cthoadmin7458 More gain, slightly better directivity. Good low angle radiation performance.
Amazing results Peter, thanks for sharing. 73 de ON4MGY Nic
Fantastic results Peter.
