Great video and thanks for everyone's efforts. Those weren't easy trees and when you throw in a few crowns, progress is slow. Hopefully trail work returns to 'normal' soon. We have been dealing with a lot of the same issues with BD's in Florida on the Suwannee River area of the trail, spend the day cutting and lucky to make a half mile. Happy 4th of July.
On Saturday, we did a crown(along with/24 other trees) in AS Hewitt State park that took us 1 hour and 20 minutes…with 3 swampers… What organization do you volunteer with?
@@briannv9900 The Florida Trail Association (FTA) and Timucuan Parks Foundation, which is local, are the two primary. Because of storm damage this year to the FTA have had to revisit the Trail several times outside of normal maintenance periods. But everything has required more efforts this year.
The FTA, Florida National Scenic Trail falls under the USFS, so we follow all their requirements for certification. As a Class B sawyer and the Trail is all within Florida I can cut anywhere on the Trail but with my chapter in northern Fla, mostly deal with the northern and panhandle areas. 75% of our damage, last and this year, has been in the center of the panhandle along the Suwannee River.

Nice job
Thanks!
What training standard do you follow? USFS, State, Game of Logging, other?
