- The start of my Sapphire Dream Team Quest! I love Torchic, it's always been one of those Pokemon that I've been a bit disappointed to evolve but I'm a big fan of Shiny Blaziken. I love shinies that don't tend to have drastic changes and I feel like Blaziken is a bit unloved by the shiny hunting community for that reason. It's an amazing Pokemon, let's be real here. The original Fire/Fighting is king!
I decided to start this hunt as I have a feeling this is going to be quite a phase heavy quest. A lot of tough hunts like Ralts and Shroomish but I am more than determined to get this quest rolling like my Ruby quest!

Hope you're excited for this team to come together! Ruby was really fun to put together but this is going to be my most challenging quest yet I think with some super phase heavy hunts (Ralts,Shroomish)

Hoenn has always been my favorite generation because of the music and pokemon. I'm excited to see the new hunts!

Thanks man! Inspired by you I also started my shiny quest a week ago. Guess what, yesterday after only 5 minutes of soft resetting I got that uncatchable shiny pooch,it honestly made me furious, I don't know what miracle happened, after another 5-10 minutes of SR's i got my shiny torchic. That was a very interesting shiny hunt :)

By some miracle youtube recommended you to me a couple days ago, and seeing you get shinies made me want to farm some on ORAS, and so far I've had like 6 in 4 or 5 days, so cheers!! Grats on the shiny torchic too

This is amazing pal- from the northwest myself too! Currently duo hunting chimchar on platinum and pearl and at 11,400 srs and losing motivations and these are helping me to keep going, cheers lad x

i absolutely love torchic’s line as shinies, combusken and blaziken are some of my favorite subtle shinies. don’t think i’ve seen them shiny in colosseum either! congrats on the beautiful shiny and good luck on the rest of your quest!

Inspired me 6 months ago to do a ruby DTQ completed that last week, took around 52k soft resets in total! I’ve just got sapphire today on about 500 SR’s for the torchic So far hopefully no pooches to come. Thanks a lot for the videos, I really enjoy them & it’s given me such fun revisiting and hunting on this very nostalgia games

My first game was Ruby, and when I started I chose treccko and it was shiny ... and I didn't even know it was shiny ... I just thought that in the game it looked like this, since it was also green but apple ... after I stopped playing and after several years it was that I found out hahaha ... it came out the first time

Congrats! I wish that the colors stayed inverted for Combusken and Blaziken. That would make them so great. Blaziken has always been one of my favorite pokemon since I saw him in the anime for the first time

It seems like Pooch has a higher chance to be shiny than the starters
Neil MacAdam not a higher chance. He jus hit the same frame few times and poochyena spawns a certain amount of frames after the starter.

Congrats Sonikks I just completed the trio a couple days ago with Torchic being my longest hunt out of the three
I've said it before and I'll say it again. There's a trend I've noticed in Sonniks vids - he almost ALWAYS gets a shiny after delaying to press something or waiting a while for the next encounter. Patience is clearly the strat for shiny Pokémon.
I think you're reading too much into it lol. I was double hunting this Torchic, as I do with my hunts and I really just like to keep my systems synchronised.

I never ever caught a shiny on any gba games and I played them a lot as a child. Today I was soft resetting a couple of times to get a torchic with a good nature and after 10 times I rolled a shiny. Totally legit rom and wasn't even trying to get a shiny. Never been so happy😂

from what i've seen, they redid the textures for the gen 1 & 2 pokemon, but the models and animations were reused.
honestly you should make a playthrough for this one sonniks, im pretty sure everyone would enjoy it, even if there are cuts inbetween just do your thing but id definitely be riding along!

Good luck on your new quest Sonikks! I’m so glad you ended up getting your Feebas. I wish I could have seen it happen on stream. I’m still plugging away at Mewtwo and I have so many legendary targets afterwards that I’m starting to lose hope. At this point I’m mostly worried that Game Freak will shut down their Pokémon Bank servers before I manage to get through my list...
OH GOOD GOD!!! Your going for a shiny ralts I gen 3??? Well all I can say is good luck because that 4% encounter rate along with 5 or 6 other available mons in the same area is going to make that hunt a nightmare.

Thanks! You need to have a live battery to do resets otherwise you'll hit the same set of frames over and over.

I’ve played Pokemon games for quite a long time, about since Ruby and Sapphire was released. I’ve been playing all the games in gen 3 and 4 for thousands of hours and never seen a shiny on any game in way over 10 years. Like I’ve trained numerous Pokemons to lv100 and had tens of thousands of wild battles and no shinies. I once tried to get a shiny starter on my Sapphire or Ruby (can’t remember which) for weeks of soft reseting and didn’t see one. I went like 10k resets dry on that one, just a rough estimate. A while ago I had a Lucky Egg grind on my Leaf Green, which was painfully long. I think I caught 52 or 53 Chanseys to get one (yes, I was on point of rage quiting.) I saw 2 shinies on safari zone during that time, one Venomoth which I caught and one Exeggcute that eventually fled. They actually encountered in under 500 encounters away each other. That Venomoth was my first shiny ever. After a while all of a sudden I encountred a shiny Larvitar in Sevault Canyon. I know that is like a ridiculously rare one. I caught it and I was so happy. It was a neutral Hardy nature and had surprisingly good IV’s of a total of around 140. I guess my luck is finally about to turn (or not.)

This is honestly making me really want to do my own DTQ with my first Hoenn team. I'm very close to getting a copy of Ruby or Sapphire to do it (since Emerald is such a pain to reset in)
One day, I was hunting mudkip with 4 games, and with almost 350SR, I was very lucky (or unlucky) and got 3 shiny poochenas at the same time, I still have the screenshot + a video with me, almost crying. Even today I don't have a shiny poochena or a shiny mudkip
