I do 56 stitches for my socks and I'm a UK size 6 (which is a very average size), I also find it really strange that at least 64 stitches are usually recommended for adults!

Yes it’s so confusing I always thought maybe that’s just how handknit socks were supposed to fit😂

The yarn is unraveled from a thrifted sweater so sadly I don’t have specifics! I used the needle size listed for the pattern which I believe was US8
