Thank you! Super cute options ❤
Subscribed just a sec ago. I like how you described it. I do own a lot of patterns even though I knit like 1,5 year now. I don't have time I guess to knit it all and one pattern I decided to not knit as I found out after another project that this design will not fir my body as well. I hate knitting in panels, I knitted one cardigan like that and no more for sure. Wish you all best
It’s definitely a learning curve! Now that I’ve gotten better at modifying patterns I can usually figure out how to make it work!
Interesting idea for a video topic. I am now thinking of why I haven't knit from my purchased patterns. (I mostly buy books though.) As for the ribbed sweater, enlarged stitches when ribbing is a common problem. It comes from switching from a knit to a purl, and the extra yarn that switch involves. It made me think of a video by Suzanne Bryan, a Master Knitter: "Enlarged knit before a purl". She gives several ways to deal with this problem, which could also avoid hand pain. She has bunches of tips for making professional looking knits. But yeah, I did a lot of frogging of projects too my first few years of knitting so this is relatable.
Yes thank you! I think I may have watched that at some point after attempting that sweater I watched it and managed to correct my stitches for another project but it did take a lot longer. 2x2 rib and I just don’t seem to get along😂
Consider the frogged projects as learning opportunities. I have hundreds of patterns in my Ravelry library and haven’t made most of them. I sometimes put two (or more) patterns together, especially socks where I take the heel from one, the toe from another, and the sock design from a third. I’ve pretty much stopped knitting winter sweaters because the weather doesn’t get cold enough to wear them. BTW, even though alpaca feels soft, I find it scratchy on my skin. I couldn’t imagine wearing an alpaca bra!
I definitely do! Eventually I think you figure out what kind of patterns will or won’t work for you. And the alpaca bra probably would have been awful I just really got fixated on that pattern for a little while, it just never panned out 😂
Greetings from Austria! Alexandra
@@alexpfarl307 Hello! Thank you for watching :)
I found my pattern, although it was not included here. The one I thought I wanted to make didn't have the purchase option. The Allie Top by Line Pedersen and other patterns seem to not be sold on Ravelry at present. The one I did get is nice and I am grateful for your review here. Thank you.❤
I’m glad you found one, sorry you weren’t able to get you first pick, the listing must have been changed recently 😢
@@granolagear That's ok, the one I got is also very nice and not included in your list. If you like, I can share it here, also.
@@LydiaProschinger yes I would love to know!
@@granolagear It's the Big Chain Top by hinterm Stein Designs on Ravelry. It's a pattern that uses mesh as a yoke, cast-off in a nice i-chord bind-off for more stability around the shoulders. Next it adds little triangles, and picks up stitches around the neckline, creating increases in short rows to get to the full width of the chest size. I have been down for the first 5 of 7 pages andI love it so far. It really convinced me, is well written out. It's for an intermediary to advanced knitter, top down, and in-the-round knitting. Very clear structure in the pattern and design.
Loved your choices and presentation style. Thank you!
Thank you so much!
Saved me a lot of time! Think I found my pattern! Thanks!
I’m so glad thank you for watching!
Once again you amaze me! Wow! I so enjoy your podcast and seeing what you come up with each week…especially your repurposed thrift items. I just know you are going to do something amazing with the pure silk from KFO. Keep ‘em comin’
Thank you so much this is so kind! I love the interesting places the thrifted yarn brings me but I’m really excited to try out something fun and a little fancy 😁
Put your LAV mic in your hair on a clip and turn your ac on. We know it’s hot and we’ll survive the background noise
Thank you for the tip! Luckily is survived, my apartment stays surprisingly cool in the heat with no AC but cool is relative on a scorcher 😂
my current knit is the ozetta moon set tee, it's a lot of straight stockinette but it's soooo beautiful. i appreciate this video, i'm always looking for more tees because it's a knit i always know i'll wear!!!
Yes all over her designs are so pretty!! Stockinette is always worth the time imo, I just wear it the most!
I can't knit without looking but this sounds nice 😂
What were you wearing?
It isn’t handmade but it is a linen top I thrifted that’s from FLAX :)
Impressive skill!
OMG YES!
I highly recommend The Balcony Shorts by Gina Mastrianni! I just finished my first pair in linen yarn and you can absolutely wear them in public!
Those look cute!
No
That is so cute! I do that too, I thought I was the only one. My niece is forever teasing me about it.. Happy knitting!
Sometimes your eyes just need a little rest 😂
Where are the patterns!
All the links are in the description individually as well as a ravelry bundle!
I get sooooo sleepy sometimes when I’m knitting. I’m glad I’m not the only one. 😂
Haha this was first thing in the morning and my eyes were just not cooperating yet😂
These patterns are so cute!
Hello from Swansea, Illinois.
Hello!
It might be best not to wear these in public. Better in the privacy of your own home. Like lingerie or pyjamas. Long pants length might be more appropriate for public wear.
Some of them are branded more as sleep shorts, but I think switching from a really drapey superwash to a sturdier cotton would definitely change the look as well. But it’s obviously up to the individual I’m just presenting options :)
People can wear whatever they are comfortable with! Hope this helps!

Hi Emma, thank you for your videos, plenty of useful information and inspiration. I am beginning to knit and I would much appreciate your views on different knitting needles, especially circular ones. Thank you!
I’m a metal needle girl personally, I love the glide! I invested in the chiagoo interchangeable set with 4” tips 3 years ago now and love them! I’ve only recently decided to purchase a few additional tips and cords, but that’s my only full set :)
Great collection of designs! Just a sidenote, the Scandinavian name Line is pronounced Lee-neh :)
This is fantastic! 👏
Thank you!
6:37 You can just do icords to tie them however she feels comfortable. Make the back shorter and the front longer so they tie in the back if she doesnt like the look of them at the top.I saw some people take a piece of yarn (maybe a polyester yarn that doesnt stretch through time) and placing it IN the icord. Also knit it longer. I knitted mine in safran as well and it stretched vertically a lot and it got shorter. Hope that helps ☺☺☺ (ps I love your videos 🥰)
Oh smart thank you for the suggestions!!
Thank you for video ❤

Hello from Swansea, Illinois.
Hello, thank you for watching!
Hi Emma! I have used the Universal cotton/poly and don't find the cotton sheds or pills at all. The poly will keep it wearing well I think and hopefully hold it's shape for you as you wear it. Cotton grows wider I believe as it stretches?
Interesting... mine really shed all over my couch and whatever I was wearing haha. Thinking I may throw it in the washer and dryer just to see what happens.
I wish we could have seen the back of the Alice one better, it looked like there was a cute texture or detail on the back? 🥰 You've been super busy! I swear I'll have this many FO's in my closet by the end of the year!
I used 2 strands throughout the piece but I ran out once I got to the back and part of one of the front straps 😂 I so I switched from a less noticeable white second strand to grey! A little funky but I ended up liking it! :)
Awesome job!!! You look so pretty! From here in Indiana
Thank you so much 🥺🩷

It is actually really easy to wind a center-pull ball of yarn by hand -- just winding around your thumb. I only recently bought a ball-winder, but I still like winding at least one ball by hand anyway. It is a wonderful way to get a good feel for the yarn and it's qualities.
It seems like a really meditative way to wind up your yarn! And if you’re a process knitter it definitely adds to that experience:)
Really nice selections! New sub ❤
Thank you for watching!
Thank you very much for the research and for showing is such beautiful patterns☀️ See you soon🌸
