The 05/06 model years seem to be holding their value nicely, I bought new in 2005, a GMC Sierra Z71 reg cab stepside 4x4 (black), Right now it has 32,000 miles, cold air kit, Flowmaster side exhaust and a killer JL Audio and Alpine audio system, still looks new inside and out,

Definitely would look better if the door handles were the other way around with the pull piece being chrome and bigger part being red, also could add the chrome weather stripping over the black below the windows. Other then that clean ass truck and keep up the good work👍🏻

Absolutely amazing build jp maybe try out some chrome window strips they would tie in well imo and if you don’t like em you could always just pull them off🤙

I hate when somebody takes a BEAUTIFUL truck with nice paint and a nice body and puts the most ugly wheels and tires on it that stick 5 feet out from the fender ruining the whole thing.
Before, it looked like it could go offroad, tow stuff, and actually be practical. Now it looks like if you hit a tiny bump the whole thing would fall apart. The whole thing just looks cheap and childish.
Putting huge wheels on a beautiful truck like that is the equivalent of thinking your super-modded Civic is cool.
Like the T-100 in my PFP. It's perfect just the way it is (which is how it was from the factory) I would never change anything about it. It's practical, reliable, and incredibly clean looking.
I think the reason this bothers me so much is because you are taking the simplicity and reliability of an old truck and ruining it. It's the reason people want old trucks over new ones. They don't want all that fancy technology. They just want the reliability of a stock, old truck.
As I said, this is my opinion. I just wanted to get this off of my chest
no hate from me but I agree for the wheels and tires a small 1 or 2 inch lift kit with normal tires and maybe just changing the headlight housings and stuff (I did it on my 2010 canyon) and it makes it more modern no need for 5inch lift kit or anything it's a truck not a monster truck with tiny wheels it's my personal opinion (this is not meant to be a hate comment)

I had those same headlights an unfortunately bought 3 pairs cause the same bracket broke on me. All 3 pairs broke an were poorly made so I switched to a different brand all together

Got a question, so I have a 2005 lly. I have 5 inch exhaust to an axle dump, I bought it like that, I’m a Cummins guy so this is my first step into the duramax world. I don’t have the hissing noise from the turbo vanes. I hear it faintly every once in a while but not much at all. Bad turbo? Is there a controller for the vanes? I’m confused

It’s August 2/2024 that truck has a blown engine by now.
We put head gaskets and studded a year ago in 2023 🫡
