    Best video yet on the install process - - nice job. I’ve had mine in the package for the last 6 weeks waiting for the weather to get a bit warmer. One thing I didn’t receive (didn’t realize, maybe I had to order it?) was the extension rod to put them up. I’ll call the manufacturer today.

    Got them installed and looks great. Thanks for the video details! And YES, having two A’s even separated by the small washer/spacer is a challenge to separate.....ask me how I know..LOL.

    • @tomhayman6553
      @tomhayman6553 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I might add, if anyone does get them “stuck” together, a putty knife or similar will separate them. Any VHB tape that gets damaged can be replaced with the extras. Our coach was noticeably cooler with just the windshield shade in place.
      Thanks again!

    Seems nice but quick question. Do you see the magnets while driving? I would think with a full window like that, anything in the window would be a nuisance. Do you eventually forget they are there?

    • @GetGonewithUS
      @GetGonewithUS  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      They have never bothered us. They are close to the edges and not in your eye view. Like you said, it’s a very full sized window. 😊

    Liked the video and glad to see your attention to detail which is the way I am too. Also like your unscientific testing method. I read the comment about blowing off in high winds. Maybe there should be a grommet at the bottom corner to where you could tie a cord around the outside mirror to keep it from blowing away if you're away from Maggie and don't have someone to retrieve it for you. Maybe suggest that to the company or they may have a better suggestion. Who wants to take it off on a hot summer day in anticipation of high winds or rain while they're away. Kinda defeats the purpose doesn't it.

    • @GetGonewithUS
      @GetGonewithUS  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks, Carl. :) We used the Magne at every campground on our 5 1/2 week practice run. There were a couple of really windy days and nights. We thought about the comment mentioning it blowing off, but it held firm. Not sure if it is the tight curve on the sides of our windshield or not, that holds it tighter. Of course the side widow shades stayed on too. My problem with a grommet and a tie strap is if the wind is blowing that hard, there are magnets sewn into the shade. I really don't want the shade beating against the paint in the wind. RV's don't have the best paint job on them to begin with.

    • @swabbievet
      @swabbievet 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      There are things like that to consider. Sure wouldn't want to screw anything up.

  • @jamesi9463

    I loved the video. We had Magne Shades on our last rig and really liked them. One thing I did when I would take the windshield one off is to fold it almost in half, so the magnets wouldn't stick together, and then roll it up on a pool noddle. It worked great and made storing it very easy. When I rolled up the side windows I put the wiper covers inside each of them to help keep the magnets from sticking together.
    Keep up the great videos and thanks for sharing.

    • @GetGonewithUS
      @GetGonewithUS  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks James! That is exactly how we do it when we store it, pool noodle and all. While we were on our 5 week practice run though, we just laid everything out in the back of the Jeep, moved to the next campground and put it back on.

      Hi Art, the Magne Shade was worth every penny. So easy to put on and take off. I called them and if I remember right, it's been a while, I went with their dimensions. I tried measuring, but had questions. Make sure you call them instead of using the website and tell them you are a veteran, I got a discount for it. Tell them you saw our video, we don't get any kickback from them, but they use our video when their customers have questions. We do intend to do a another review on it, now that we have used it for awhile. House goes live on the market next week. Realtor says their are 11 people in line already to look at it. We'll see, it's not sold until it's sold.😃

    Great Video and great product. We also use the Magna Shade and our only issue has been high winds. We have had our windshield Magna Shade blow off twice once in the middle of the night during very high wind (I should have know to take it down but didnt) at Ricon Parkway in California and luckily a neighbor went outside around midnight to check out the wind and saw our Magna Shade on the highway and got it for us, the second time we were away from the campsite in town when a sudden rain storm blew in in south Texas and another neighbor happened to see it blow off and went out in the rain to retrive it. We have decided to take them off if the wind is expected to get over 30 or so as they are to expensive to replace if we actually lost one. Have you heard of any solutions to the high wind blowing them off the windshield or is taking them down about the only solution?

    • @GetGonewithUS
      @GetGonewithUS  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks Bob! This is the first we are hearing about them blowing off during high winds. We know people take them off during rain storms. Maybe we'll err on the side of caution and take them off during high winds. They would be very expensive to replace. Thanks for your comment and sharing. :)

    I love the test you did with the temperature but I'm really surprised the Magne Shade didn't block more heat than that?! I'm considering ordering because we're in Texas and need to block as much heat as possible but for $595 do you think it's worth it for heat blocking or is it more of a privacy shade?

    • @GetGonewithUS
      @GetGonewithUS  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      We bought it for the ease of installing and removing. We also bought it for privacy, we love having the view out the front window without being on display ourselves. LOL THe heat that gets blocked is just a bonus. We would buy it again. 😃
