Alejandro Rodriguez Reminds of how I got a 31 to 9 K/D when working my Chaperone quest. Simply put it was a 3 on 2 me being on the latter and cloaking, getting behind a guy and striking at the last moment with The Last Word. Even gutted all three here and there and good thing they disintegrated in Arc energy. Though good thing I don't really have to clean it for real or it would give away my position from the stink.

They nerfed it?! Damn that sucks, bladedancer was my favorite and my hunter was my main. I played since vanilla Destiny up until midway House of Wolves and got bored and stopped, so I fell out of general knowledge of what was going in the game. I bought Destiny 2 on a whim and they completely remade the class, instead of blades, we use a staff/bow and are called another name as well. It's not bad but it doesn't feel like my speed is enhanced while in this super form which makes it a bit lackluster and people complain its crap in pvp. I can understand why some might think that yet if you use it at the right time you can annihilate the other team. The only downside is Titans and Locks seem to have some extra protection while in super forms while hunters have none at all. I'd actually be happier if they abandoned D2 and went back to D1 and just kept creating more content. I'd be happy to go back and go through all the things I missed while looking forward to new things to come.

What about other characters being more than one subclass? Ikora has been seen using stormcaller melee as well as the nova bomb, Zavala is seen using Ward of Dawn and Fist if Havok. Couldn't it be possible that a guardian of sufficient skill can master multiple elements of light?
The other great thing to note is that the subclasses we know today have evolved the same way our factions have. The line between different abilities used to be a lot more blurred, and abilities used to be a lot less tied down. Guardians found many different ways to use the light, but is supposed to be the cream of the crop (our current 9) rose to the surface. After all, like it's said in the last video, the earliest documentation of a Golden Gun was when Shin Malphur killed Dredgen Yor in Palimon.
11:40 I also think that Gheleon was a Bladedancer. Maybe the Vanguard got the inspiration to call their shotgun Occam's Razor because of Gheleon's knife with the same name?
It states that scenarios should not be multiplied unnecessarily; which is most often interpreted as the simplest of competing theories be preferred over the more complex ones. In layman's terms, simplicity is better. Like a knife/shotgun, no tricky gun mechanics or overly planned attack tactics. Just run in and stab/shoot; dead.
And with this, my love for the first subclass I ever used is rekindled. There's nothing quite as personal as a blade. There's a poetry to it. Any meathead can pull a trigger, but only the skilled and ruthless can look into the dying eyes of their foe and feel the gentle hiss of finality escape their lips as the blade withdraws, ready for the next target.

There is nothing more beautiful then carving a permanent smile on my enemy, smelling the charred flesh. The blade dance is something you can't run away from, he'll just ask tanniks. You missed one important aspect of Bladedancer lore, MG: BLINK. Why do they have it? Or rather, who perfected the technique first, Voidwalkers or Bladedancers? Blink is actually a Voidwalker technique, and Bladedancers learned how to do it from them. There's a piece of flavor text on a set of year one blue boots that explain that Bladedancers stole blink from Voidwalkers. This ties into the theory that Bladedancers channel light in the same ways that Warlocks do. It's also consistent with the trickster and dishonorable nature of Hunter/Bladedancers.
Hi Myelin. I'd like to say thanks for making all of your fantastic videos. I came late to the Destiny party and as someone who loves lore and story in games it took me a little while to really get into it. Now it's one of my favourite games and that's partly because your videos helped me understand what was going on. I'd also like to say I've really been enjoying the subclass analysis. I've started to feel more and more that the real plot of Destiny is finding where you fit in the story and discovering your identity as a Guardian. As a Nightstalker/Bladedancer I've noticed an interesting difference in how I play the two classes. I tend to Bladedance when I'm alone because I feel like channeling arc almost requires a zen-like state to maximise its potential, Bladedancing is all about instinct and the moment for me. In contrast when I Nightstalk I'm using void light to either strengthen my allies or weaken my enemies. It seems as though channeling the void requires more thought. I don't normally play Gunslinger, but when I do it's always fun. It feels like I'm letting my ego run wild, setting myself up for the most powerful attack, so I guess arrogance is pretty close to the mark. Come to think of it solar Warlocks increase their powers and bring themselves back from the dead, and when a solar Titan makes that 'ping' sound all you can do is run. Perhaps there's something to the way you access different kinds of light being common across classes. Anyway. Thanks for the video!

As a warlock in the crucible, I have to admit three things occur VERY often when I play against blade dancers. In a rapid session, there is a red flash on my radar, suddenly I see some arc light around the corner, and then GUARDIAN DOWN
It was fun to be feared in crucible back in year one. The only thing that ever stopped me was a titan smash. But blade dancer is trash compared to what it once was.
I think Hunters did adapt Rasputin's cloaking tech but not necessarily Cayde-6. After all it would be just like Cayde to take credit form some unknown Guardian to impress the newer recruits or something like that.
there is one bladedancer confirmed in the lore, they were part of Eris' fireteam, so look at those grimoire cards for the name, but I do have a quote from them "My blades hunger for another dance!"
Lethal sounds good, but Creepy, in a pretty dark sense of humor way sounds like me. No wonder I always found that Subclass so appealing. Plus I'm more likely to use my stealth for a support role, before plunging my blade down an enemies jugular. Plus I find it fun to eliminate an enemy's leader before silencing the others.
It's not like you have much choice left with subclasses; you did the TTK, both Warlock ones, and Gunslinger. So don't feel like it's too soon to do Bladedancer, especially before we learn too much about how classes and subclasses will change in Destiny 2.

the overall warlock personality of knowledge and power really is me, you cant beat/do anything without some knowledge about it. plus i like being the most powerful, ever. but just like hunters are "lone wolfs" some are arrogant, some are deadly... really want to know what the sub-personality-trait-like-thing is though
my best class really. I love how gunslinger plays but truly I have fought my best as a bladedancer. and I've actually found a few workarounds past the so called nerfing and used them to my advantage. it's all in the wrist after all and be sure you don't use it near terminals! never get that data back :)

A ridiculous amount of hate from both friend and foe. Referred to as sneaky, cowards and or creepy. But there isn't much that is more feared when opposed or loved to have watching your back. It's not that we have no honor, it's that, well history is written by the victor, and if you fail all history will say about you is that you lost. Honor may have its place in some long forgotten hall or colosseum, but not on the battlefield where the lives of my friends and teammates are endangered. Notallgunslingers :3
You know Myelin I've played golden gun since year one and I got to say a good blade dancer is scary as hell but you got to have respect for the people who main blade they can get in your face and kill you in a heartbeat and that demands some respect so to all the blade dancers out there gg and I'll see you from a distance looking down me golden gun
From the actual lore at the moment I am quite sure Ana bray is a blade dancer and one of the few reminiscent even more after her cutscenes more specific the season of the worthy one where she does prefer a stealth approach also using her knives against the idea of a weapon also we do barely see her using a gun during the whole game story and dlcs
Is it possible that Lady Efrideet was a Bladedancer? I know it's never confirmed either way for her, but she obviously possesses great enough physical strength to pick up and throw Lord Saladin, which could possible imply she would be better suited to the physical, melee based Hunter subclass. No real evidence but I wouldn't discount it?

Funny thing is I was playing as Bladedancer last night and was making really dark jokes with my fellow fireteam. This video helped me understand why I feel more comfortable as a Bladedancer than anything. Btw hiding under the bodies of your fallen team mates and making armor out of their bones is an excellent strategy.

Cayde can bladedance. He mentions plaing Flux Grenades at the entrance of colonial ship during second mission of the TTK campain.
Magic Dapz Cayde doesn't use bladedancer much because they are unfair and he doesn't like it

Bladedancer was a no-brainer for me. I've always loved playing thief/assassin characters. I love speedy characters, too.

As a warlock in the crucible, I have to admit three things occur VERY often when I play against blade dancers. In a rapid session, there is a red flash on my radar, suddenly I see some arc light around the corner, and then GUARDIAN DOWN
Blade dancer, time and patience, and the don’t touch me’s. Invisibility on demand, for when ever member of your team needs a res.
Hears shadow shot,gun slinger, or blade dancer pop there super in crucible pisses self a bit and prays for mercy

It was fun to be feared in crucible back in year one. The only thing that ever stopped me was a titan smash. But blade dancer is trash compared to what it once was.
I think Hunters did adapt Rasputin's cloaking tech but not necessarily Cayde-6. After all it would be just like Cayde to take credit form some unknown Guardian to impress the newer recruits or something like that.
there is one bladedancer confirmed in the lore, they were part of Eris' fireteam, so look at those grimoire cards for the name, but I do have a quote from them "My blades hunger for another dance!"

Lethal sounds good, but Creepy, in a pretty dark sense of humor way sounds like me. No wonder I always found that Subclass so appealing.
Plus I'm more likely to use my stealth for a support role, before plunging my blade down an enemies jugular.
Plus I find it fun to eliminate an enemy's leader before silencing the others.
It's not like you have much choice left with subclasses; you did the TTK, both Warlock ones, and Gunslinger. So don't feel like it's too soon to do Bladedancer, especially before we learn too much about how classes and subclasses will change in Destiny 2.
I find it funny how bladedancers are portrayed to be very fast but I’ve lost a few chases in the crucible against a good striker skater

the overall warlock personality of knowledge and power really is me, you cant beat/do anything without some knowledge about it. plus i like being the most powerful, ever. but just like hunters are "lone wolfs" some are arrogant, some are deadly... really want to know what the sub-personality-trait-like-thing is though

my best class really. I love how gunslinger plays but truly I have fought my best as a bladedancer. and I've actually found a few workarounds past the so called nerfing and used them to my advantage. it's all in the wrist after all and be sure you don't use it near terminals! never get that data back :)

A ridiculous amount of hate from both friend and foe. Referred to as sneaky, cowards and or creepy. But there isn't much that is more feared when opposed or loved to have watching your back. It's not that we have no honor, it's that, well history is written by the victor, and if you fail all history will say about you is that you lost. Honor may have its place in some long forgotten hall or colosseum, but not on the battlefield where the lives of my friends and teammates are endangered. Notallgunslingers :3
You know Myelin I've played golden gun since year one and I got to say a good blade dancer is scary as hell but you got to have respect for the people who main blade they can get in your face and kill you in a heartbeat and that demands some respect so to all the blade dancers out there gg and I'll see you from a distance looking down me golden gun
From the actual lore at the moment I am quite sure Ana bray is a blade dancer and one of the few reminiscent even more after her cutscenes more specific the season of the worthy one where she does prefer a stealth approach also using her knives against the idea of a weapon also we do barely see her using a gun during the whole game story and dlcs

Is it possible that Lady Efrideet was a Bladedancer? I know it's never confirmed either way for her, but she obviously possesses great enough physical strength to pick up and throw Lord Saladin, which could possible imply she would be better suited to the physical, melee based Hunter subclass. No real evidence but I wouldn't discount it?
Creepy Lethal. Love the videos as always but would a possible Legendary blade dancer be Eris Morn. She has the creepy dark sense of humor and she was a hunter before she lost her ghost.

Funny thing is I was playing as Bladedancer last night and was making really dark jokes with my fellow fireteam. This video helped me understand why I feel more comfortable as a Bladedancer than anything.
Btw hiding under the bodies of your fallen team mates and making armor out of their bones is an excellent strategy.

He probably just likes using female pronouns instead of male pronouns like everyone else. Like "That guy is tough". Guy meaning either sex in this case, however it is also a specifically male pronoun. It's just his preference.

That's more of a linguistics question: you know how in the English language, the masculine pronouns "e," "his," etc., can be either male or neutral gender? Well, more recently published works now use he feminine to refer to gender-neutral subjects. One of the subtle effects of feminism. Kind of annoying to someone who grew up with the old way, but whatever, it means the same thing 😊 Hope that answered your question
