Is buffalo grass shade tolerant? In this video I'll demonstrate an area of my buffalograss lawn that was planted in shade and look at tolerance performance.
I installed buffalo grass originally to fill in dog spot from their urine, and it worked well in filling in the kill spots over time. As for dog traffic, if your dog consistently uses the same path(s) I'd say buffalo grass is about as effective at self repair as bermuda grass. Just be sure to aerate the path every spring to loosen up the soil prior to the start of growth.
