Chuck is wild for this. Malone clearly said nothing against the guys in the video, and that if he was them he probably would have said the same thing. Malone has no problem with people saying his team was going to lose, he just used it as fuel to fire up his team. He never said the critics were wrong or stupid or shouldn't have said what they said. He just said "ok, here's what the critics said, Nuggets. What are you guys gonna do about it in game 3?"

Every individual player involved wants to play and win, but getting a team focused and motivated in the right way and towards a productive goal is a skill and it's part of a coach's job.

Whats interesting is that Mike Malone made sure to say he didn't take the critics writing them off personally cause he understood it based on the two games, he just was trying to motivate his team. In 1994, Chuck's Suns won the first 2 games of their WCSF series against the Rockets in Houston. They ended up losing in 7. The following year in 1995, the Suns were up 3-1 against Houston and ended up blowing the lead and losing game 7 at home.
You would think a guy that has regularly blown leads in the past would be wiser than to count a championship team like the Nuggets out. But then again, what does Chuck know about winning? He never won a ring.
I was thinking about that '94 series, too. How do you think Chuck would've reacted if they'd reminded him of that?

Chuck is right about the sweep thing because base on the 2 games, Nuggets were struggling especially Murray.
He was wrong to underestimate the heart of the champions and how Malone knows how to adjust.
Coach is right to used any clip, omitted or not, to motivate his players.
How is he right about the sweep thing if they did not get swept. Simple math is if they are 2-2 right now, he's wrong. If they did get swept he's right. Its as if he assumed that the Nuggets will make 0 adjustments and now that they did he is refusing to admit that he was wrong to write them off so easily. Murray and Jokic as a duo with Mike Malone has comeback from down 3-1 in back to back series only to end up winning both of them in 2020. Never count them out so easily.

Charles seems to be contradicting himself a lot lately, you can't go on Shay's podcast and go on a rant hating on Skip and the so-called media experts and then a few days later do exactly the same thing you trash them for and act like you are some sort of an expert just because you played the game.

This is the area where Charles fails as a sports commentator even though I've always found him entertaining. Just as it's sometimes clear he doesn't watch a lot of games, it's also clear he didn't listen to the whole quote from Malone. Malone clearly said he would have said the same thing about the team if he were one of the TV NBA "analysts" after watching the first two games. So he obviously didn't have an issue with them saying it. He just used it as motivation for his team. So Charles just cherry-picks his quote...or more likely never even listened to the entire quote....and attacks Malone over it....he "liked his dad better", he's not "the greatest thing since sliced bread".....not a good look to come off like a petty a-hole when you obviously don't even know what the guy said.

Tonight's Episode might be the worst this last decade , there's no energy, Shaq is exhausted you can see it , his voice volume decreased more for some reason , Chuck is getting sensitive , Kenny and Draymond have calm takes but they tryna sound complicated at some points (Its like they're competing from each other on who has the "smartest" take to look smart , because their takes takes a lot of setup to prove their point , they're not saying it directly), Ernie is still ernie though but he had a hard time tonight trying to talk to ShaQ and Chuck because of their ego and pride about their picks on Mavs and OKC, the Wolves "Sweep" incident , the Jokic - Shai Incident Etc..

YUP. This episode was so bad for a few minutes while watching it makes me think "Damn. I'm so glad this show is getting cancelled after this season". The only good part about this one was Ernie, but Draymond was atrocious as per usual don't know why they keep inviting him in, Chuck was really sensitive and soft, Shaq love it or hate it he's aight much of the time, Kenny is just the worst TV personality. I always hated him, i always hated the way he talks and how he take 2000 words and 40 pauses to say one thing that is yet so simple. Is like he tries to say a sentence, but mid way he wants to add more to that sentence so create a new one and do it again for the next 5 minutes to say exactly what he was about to say in his 1st attempt. Terrible.

As a Nuggets fan, even I doubted them and already expected a sweep loss after that first 2 games exposed the weaknesses of the Nuggets that are the exact opposite of the strengths of T-wolves; Having 2 big men against one Jokic, a more reliable bench, and overall consistency of players. I'm more than happy they've proven us wrong in game 3 and 4, and would love for them to be the team that wins the series, but none of that changes how things looked like during the first 2 games.

I’m old enough to remember when Shaq was a liability at the end of games and Chuck was known for being arrested and having a severe drinking problem. Jokic is better at basketball, being a teammate, being a husband, and being a father. They’re just mad because he’s the better man all around

Chuck's defense is basically an admission to lack of expertise. Every one could see Denver played bad in game 2, but only few could see with some adjustments they could play better. There are a lot of entertainers in sport's media, not enough expert level analysts

Charles can be as petty as Shaq at times, but people tend to attack him less because he's more articulated. The 2-0 start was impressive from the Wolves, indeed, but Nuggets are the reigning champions AND this is a playoffs series.
Can we not act like game 1 was as bad as game 2. Game 1 the nuggets played poorly and only lost by single digits (7 I think). Game 2 was the embarrassment. The media based their whole opinion on the game 2 blowout. They went right back to discrediting the nuggets just like they did last year: the year they WON.
The only reason why the Wolvers won Game 1 was because an excellent 4th Q performances from Naz Reid. Without him this series would be 3-1 by now.
