Brushing definitely removed lint for me! I was so surprised that it actually worked. My sisterlocs are already frizzy and it didn't make them more or less frizzy.
I don’t have locs and do not plan on getting them but this is so interesting and your locs look so good. I remember your many hairstyles b4 the locs and I think u could make anything look good on your head.
Whew Chiiiilllleee... I felt you in the no grey hair at this time. I just diy re-installed my microlocs on Saturday, but not before I touched up those greys first! I thought I was ready for grey,, but mine are just not coming in cute yet...lol I love your hair, BTW. LOVE the update!🙌🏽💜🙌🏽
Same for me sis about the grey. Mine are serious right in the front. Inherited from both parents. I am on schedule to get locs installed in the next couple weeks or sooner and I know that it will be a trial once my grey starts growing out again. I usually dye my hair every few months depending on how I am feeling at the moment. Once the locs are installed I will see from there if its something I can embrace or whether I will have to slap some dye in it again. Peace and blessings.
@@kimledwards5795 mine are also coming in strong in the front/my edges. Lol If I said out loud how I've been maintaining the grey-less look people would look at me crazy. Part of the reason that I self installed was because I wanted the freedom to manage my hair as I see fit. I was told that I couldn't color my hair with babylocs, but I'm doing so other stuff that isn't recommended, but is working for me. Good luck to you on your journey!💜
@@deeyalafleur-moore7982 Lol.. I understand you gotta to what works for you and your hair. When I find something that works I'm sticking to that. Same to you. Happy Loc-ing
They are gorgeous! I'm just 3 weeks in with micrlocs with extensions. I've never subscribed to anyone but you will be extremely helpful on this journey❤
I use a board hair brush with are very soft bristles, brushing lightly not to disturb your locs just to catch the lint only. It works well for plus adds lots of shine to my hair. You do have to check hair often so lint don't get embedded in the locs. I do use silk pillow case and scarf too, very little lint.
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️Love it, love it, love it! Baby it’s the locs for me, it’s the locs for me! Kendra I love your locs hun! Thank you for sharing! I am 2 weeks post install and I am loving my hair and really looking forward to this journey. I think you one of my top 3 loc crushes that really sealed the deal for me to get sister locs! Thank you 🙏🏿
I've experienced lint in the back row of my locs and I brush them and use a satin pillow case. I will definitely try dying it because it seems to be the most efficient way.
Oh and also, this past year, I started to do an ACV rinse every 6 months to detox my locs. I usually see any lint build up that’s deep in the locs come to the surface when I do that.
Soooo, I started my loc journey probably about a month before you. It was August 9th, 2019 so I am going on 3 yrs. I was so excited to see that you had locs too, I was like yassssss……cuz I needed all the help I could get. I love the coconut oil mist, and just recently started making my own organic rosemary oil for my scalp. I love the freedom of my locs. I’m getting kinda lazy with mines though. I wait a full two months before I retie just to give my scalp a nice break. Believe it or not, I still have a few around the perimeter that will unravel. And I also realized that my hair grows at different speeds, so l have some that need maintenance more often than the rest of my head. I have been combining my locs also, but now that they are mature, they are not locking together. So now I’m kinda stuck with a few two headed monsters. Has that happened to you also?
I’m a 2 months in !!!!! So excited and there are growing beautifully. I aim to do my reties every 6-8 weeks. There can be quite expensive so I try my best to allow my scalp to rest before I retire again
Thank you for sharing this video. I did a detox the other day and was devastated to find that I have lint. I'm less hard on myself knowing that even the loc baddies👑 have some lint. I don't even sit on the couch without a bonnet, like HOWWW did this happen?? I wear a lot of black cotton hoodies (thinking I'm safe) but I think that the black dye fades over time and just leaves gray buildup. I'm running to the beauty supply store right now to grab some dye. Thnx boo.😘
Nice👍🏽 one beautiful, I got all the gist, the tips and tricks😁 My locs are about few months and it's so true that sometimes no matter what you do to prevent lints, those notty things will find their way in, especially at the back but coverings do help to prevent it to a minimal level.
Your locs are flourishing beautifully 😍 I'm a scarf addict 🤣 so I definitely contributed to the lint at the nape of my locs🤦🏽♀️...Okay I will try and patiently wait for your loc jewels/sprinkles 😄
I love your locs. I secretly wanted microlocs lol but could never. I never even did micros in weave lol to test it out. Individuals and Marley twist were my thing and they were small to medium in size. I decided to do traditional locs two strand twist method. I have been loc's two years and my hair has gone a lot. It seems lately lint build up is a bit much. But I recently found a way to reduce it.That has ben the most frustrating thing.
Hi Kendra, have been following you fa years!!! Decided to do microlocs in September. I've been scouring your videos and posts to see if you talk about it, but did you experience any frizzyness? Thanks, I love your knowledge. You're my go to for all things natural hair, plus!
Hello Kendra, the question I have for you is how long before you can start to do different styles to your new sisterlock after installation? I plan to start my sisterlock journey in late June 2022. Thanks for the information, much of your information has lead me on the decision of sisterlock journey, for I've been wearing micro braids and crochet hair stlye of and on for the last 30 years, so I'm very excited to start my lock journey. I may get brave and post a photo in the future.
Love your hair and your loc journey. I’m seriously considering…scratch that I’m getting locs…I’m just still unsure about getting Microlocs or Sisterlocs…. I want the freedom of Microlocs seem to bring, I see a lot more people self maintaining their Microlocs opposed to sisterlocs. I really want the grid of sisterlocs and I’m not that skilled so doing it myself is out of the question as far as establishing my locs. But further down the line I want to cut some of the future expenses I’ll accumulate over the lifespan of my loc journey. My main question is since they are so similar to sisterlocs what was the deciding factor for you to choose Microlocs vs. Sisterlocs? Maybe you’ve addressed in pass videos so I’ll look out for it but yeah love to hear your thoughts on it.
Hey Kendra! Your hair is BEAUTIFUL!!! I see that you are located in Louisville, so am I! Can I ask where you got your locs installed? I just installed my own, but I want to add about 150 locs, and I’m tired!! 🤣. Please let me know where you got yours done…..thanks!?
Hi recently started following u on...I have 12 years traditional locs but will be starting micro in May. BTW love your fold chains, where did u get them?
Your locs look beautiful and thick. I have a question. If you dont use any conditioner on your hair, how do you maintain your hair to prevent it from drying out since you dye your hair? Do you use a shampoo meant for dyed hair? I want to dye my hair but fear my hair will break. I am 16 months locd
Hi! Do you have a video of you dying your hair or doing touch-ups? I'm ready to try it... just a little nervous about. Are you using any special products along with the box dye?
I have a question. I am 2 months sister loc’d and I have grays in the front and sides and I want to dye my hair so bad. I am the same as you….I don’t like the grays and not ready, but they say I have to wait 1 yr first. My loctician said the same, but it’s bothering me… any suggestions. I know you did your own..so when did you start dying your locs?
What edge control do you use for your baby hair? I also don’t like a lot of products due to build up but have been looking for a good edge control that won’t flake up too bad.
I'm not sure if you know this already. But are you aware that someone is using your vids and pics of your starter microlocs and advertising them as being a wig that people can buy online. I saw it on Pinterest when I was just looking for microlocs inspo and twists and on another website. Like why they being doing **ish like that like black people can't rock their own hair and if be real 🤦🏽♀️😒 Love your growths and journey. Keep it coming 🙌🏽♥️

I dont... I'm 22 months, I only use shampoo as well

Nice seeing you, great update, your hair just continues to shine✨✨✨
Hello! Your color looks great. It definitely adds a nice luster to your hair. I am all about dying the lint! 😂
Lol girl yesss 🤣🤣
loved this video !!! do you plan on keeping your hair around this length with regular trims or just letting it grow out and do it’s thing :)?
I will keep a shoulder length bob if not shorter. I don’t care for long hair on my neck 😩
