    Excellent lesson. Clear instruction with many key thoughts and metrics to use in training to make those moves. So valuable to have numerous keys to utilize for success as all of us process information individually. Can't wait to take this lesson to the practice range. Thank you, Eric!

    Another great video, Eric. Putting slight weight onto your left side at set up (as your mate Saguto Golf always favours) will help with the weight shift, as does a slight open stance in my case.

    I like the “fall in toward lead side” feel a lot. Thank you. Would a similar feel translate to the driver swing?

    • @CogornoGolf

      Thanks!
      Yes----but you would move less forward with upper body with driver---even BACK some away from target with head through the ball as we tilt and extend more

  • @kiddytube3915

    Golf is really simple. It’s all about the proper grip (I prefer the butterfly grip with a strong lead and weak trail hands) , the proper stance over the ball for the club you have and keeping your weight planted on your lead foot.
    You do those properly and everything else takes care of itself.

    Nice👍 I wish it was Spring already😂 I would love to get out and hit on the grass at the ranges or play golf. It’s so wet here that mud would fly on any grass hit unless you’re using a tee.

    Eric - When I'm looking at my trackman numbers, everything looks good on my irons. My club is very square at target, if anything I occasionally leave it open. But with my driver and woods I can't close the face fast enough to get it square. Any suggestions on that? Do you have any videos that talk about that?

      Almost always have to exaggerate MORE as the clubs get longer...so keep that in mind as you practice these concepts 👊

      @@CogornoGolf Thanks Eric! I'm only about 2-2.5 degrees open. I just need to calm it down so it's more neutral without going the other direction and closing it so much I pull it left OB.

    So this right here is why I'm unbelievably frustrated. Practice swing? No problem great turn. Practice swing hitting the ground in front of the ball? No problem. Over the ball? Only able to take a half swing completely terrified of the ball, decelerating through the ball with a 90 yard 7 iron. I watch people on the range who can snap through like this, I'm too old to do that but I can't even bring myself through the ball. Unbelievably frustrating. And embarrassing.

    • @tcruts
      @tcruts 6 วันที่ผ่านมา +5

      Keep at it! You’re not alone. As for the embarrassing part…let that go. If I’m hacking on the range or the golf course I tell myself that I’m making people feel better about their game! When I say this it always lightens things up for me. I tell my kids, “Loud and proud” all the time. Just my way of saying who cares what anyone else thinks!

    • @FlankerJackChannel
      @FlankerJackChannel 6 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @tcruts yeah, my brain doesn't work that way. This is a skill and I want to master it. I don't expect PGA or champions level game but after 18 months I don't feel I'm seeing measurable results. Something is not working, I try to stick with a drill or a thought for a month but unfortunately it's not coming together. This video explains what I'm probably doing wrong I just don't know how to do it. Without a club and a ball everything looks great, put a ball in front of me and all of a sudden I'm stiff, decelerating and losing distance. Not fun.

    • @FlankerJackChannel
      @FlankerJackChannel 6 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @tcruts and for the record I absolutely will not be bad at this just to make someone else feel better. Life's not like that. And golf isn't like that. My professional life tells me that if I study at something and practice it something eventually I will improve at something. I haven't seen that in golf.

      Hi Eric, this is so much more precise insightful information than i believe you have shared with us in the past regarding this complicated move i have been at it for 40 years and because of this and AMG coverage i think i finally get it tks so much for this i watched Malaskas video a couple years ago now and all he says he feels is right hip back left hip back and that was a bad rabbit hole i went down and have played my worst golf recently 😢 Like Dale Carnegie said in his book how to win friends and influence people be a good listener and make every word count like you have done in this video again many thanks

    • @jcarlosttn
      @jcarlosttn 6 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Hey Frank, I absolutely understand what you mean about time and effort you'd to put in and is not show on the range or on the course for the matter.
      However, you mentioned about measurable results after 18 month. And my question to you is, what process have you been following-- NOT drills in order to be objective and systematic.
      As a therapeutic trainer for golfers, I see once we can pinpoint "the Big Domino" to your golf swing kinks,
      the rest of the issues will trickle.
      Alotta golfers try a "fragment approach" solution to the swing. Having a systematic approach to work from allows clients with limited mobility and flexibility makes steady but noticeable progress.
      Kinda like gratification > expectations thing.
