- Leather - probably not something we think about in everyday life. But what is Greek leather versus leather from India? How about what's the best size for my jewelry making project? And are there faux or vegan options available? Allie from Potomac Beads talks all you need to know about leather for beading and jewelry making. This is a must watch for those beginning beaders!

This couldn't have come at a better time, I am planning on making some leather jewellery and have been trawling through the various cords available. Loving your videos, always so inspirational xx
OMG! FINALLY found information on what I wanted to know! THANK YOU!
Darn, no wonder I can never find that "metalic gold" cow....Thanks, Allie, for the great info about all things leather. The "oldie but goodie" bracelet really caught my eye--love it.
Thanks! I really didn’t know anything about leather for jewelry making.
thanks for the information........i learnt a lot
Thank you for the information Allie. I must say that I looove the introduction picture 😂 hope you've been freed since then lol 😉
😂
Thank you for all the research you did! I hadn't heard about Greek or Indian (Eastern) leather. For shoes and handbags, I knew Italian has always been better than Mexican. It never occurred to me that jewelry leather had different qualities and where they're sourced.
Like you, I love leather too. It breaths better than synthetic for shoes and garments. I don't suppose that matter for jewelry. The faux leather products are so much more attractive now than when I was a kid in the late 60's and made my big brother a pair of pants with Ultrasuede. He loved them though.
Love your mixed micro-macrame wrap bracelets. Pinned this and your micro-macrame vids for future reference. Looking forward to sitting down with my macrame board and cranking out a few wrap bracelets.
Thanks again for the info!
Great information! Thanks!
Very interesting! Thank you for sharing! 💜
Most leather in the US comes from slaughter houses, so they make money from the “waste”, and for. Cork make sure it’s from sustainable sources. Now you can also get a leather effect from clay for added character! It’s Fimo leather effects clay
Waxed cotton cord is vegan.
Vegan should always be the choice.
Just because it was used in the past doesn't make it right today.
