I’m somewhat impressed in how much the AI’s improved in this game compared to previous Eugen titles, occasional braindead rushing inf/artillery into your lines aside it feels like it’s actually leveraging its numerical superiority in clever ways sometimes
It can be good but it can be taken advantage of as well for instance the ai likes to build up in certain areas which means you can have a good time sniping them and moving back to cover, also good for arty to snipe
I already liked the AI in SD and SD2, no matter what other people are saying. In fact, as of now I think the SD2 AI is a tad better. The AI in WARNO's AG campaigns tends to drive circles around their zone instead of taking good defensive positions. And more often than not it 'leads' an attack by an SPAA which is nonsensical obviously. (The last thing happens because AI sends units in bulk and since the SPAA is one of the fastest vehicles, it tends to come in way ahead of the tanks. Hopefully they'll fix that at some point.)
@sunbather1576 don't consider rushing 40 trucks worth of infy into a AT gum that was spotted 10 minutes ago good. But I will say the AI of SD2 does have pretty good moments
the AI in AG is neutered so much im not sure why... probably because they're given massive numerical superiority but they keep clumping up and one arty strike takes out the whole lot
Woo! Been looking forward to this! :) I think you're really undervaluing getting some of your own artillery though. You get 2 howitzers for the price of a tank, and just a few of them can have a massive impact on the amount of artillery fire you take. Getting 2 within the first 3 ticks or so to start working on it and then following up with 2 more a bit later usually means I'm not having to worry about enemy arty anymore, and it's quite effective at softening up approaching enemies too. Some arty firing at the area between the enemies "Fire ATGMs from here" point and the "in range of M1s here" point would have been very effective. If I remember correctly you tried bringing in 2 once in Bruderskrieg, but you did it very late, so the enemy had had time to build up massive artillery numbers of their own, and you put them in a group next to each other instead of spreading them out, so the enemy had enough spare arty to counter battery you instead.
Could you imagine being one of the guys in that first battle? "Men, you are going into battle against a horde of commies with no air or artillery support."
There is a documentary on the 11th acr and one of the officers they interviewed was like "yeah everyone says we're gonna get annihilated in a few days if the soviet's decide to cross, but I think we've got a pretty good chance."
The only thing I dislike about the army general campaigns is that you can lose a division because it s attacked repeatedly due to morale loss. Even if you have never lost a battle, have very few casualties and are not surrounded. In essence the system forces you to pull back all the time to not get attacked 3 times per turn. Happened to me in brüderkrieg and it sucked.
You'd need to get attacked 3 times per turn for 3 turns in order for that to happen. If that's happening without you getting surrounded, something seriously odd is happening. Sounds like you're mixing in at least some attacks of your own.
I think it's also meant to simulate combat fatigue. Soldiers aren't supposed to remain on the front lines indefinitely. They either snap, or come back unsuited for civilian life.
@@CaptScrotes I understand but I would have rather seen a system where their combat effectiveness got reduced instead of an instant surrender of a hole unit.
i have an idea for your consideration, A campaign but where its more edited like your mp vids with the voice over, that way you could immerse us even more with some backstory to these cool ass battles
You'll get more hours out of WARNO single player for sure. Both are very good though. Regiments is streamlined as a single player only game but doesn't have a strategic layer, like army general.
I gave up on NATO's Fulda Gap campaign on Elite difficulty 8 turns in, i just could not keep holding the AI, i will probably have to turn difficulty back to normal.
Under rules of engagement, I think it's called "out of range reaction". If it is set to defensive they automatically smoke against ATGMs. Doesn't work so well for Soviet tanks that have their own ATGMs though.
Damn just when you think you are doing well the AI pulls in a coordinated arty strike with a tank/infantry assault and planes coming in too putting you in a very tough situation sometimes where you can lose your whole defense... damn AI
Really annoying how the AI gets unlimited command points in these matches where you get hit with the upkeep penalty after like 4 tanks. If the T-55's didnt have resolute and near immunity to stun I could understand it but as they are the T-55AM2B's are usually a better tank the the M1 due to all the spam.
that voice "acting" in the mission brief is so bad like... seriously just pay $10 /month for an Elevan Labs voice. No one's getting laid off, it's just a different means of automation.
I feel like trying to sped it up costed you proably more than it should have. It might make it more interesting to watch for some, but I prefer it to be even more overwelming.
well yeah. Unfortunately the campaigns 1-5 are too easy. You can win it mostly on the strategic map easily. Won the second last campaign with Pact at 50:1. (on expert) .Last one is maybe more of a challenge. a slightly more agressive AI on the strategic map would help maybe. Nato was the attacking side and attacked lackluster. Easy to encircle etc. Engagements are not too tricky either. Often AI "parks" hordes of units and you can arty them to death. Drives tanks into towns. Etc. Too predictable.
Suggestion; although it may defeat all purposes of efficiency 😂. For AG, will it be too much of restriction to deploy based on organization ? Game mechanism does not penalize it but having command and recon tank from same company being all the way across out of mutual support range just seems odd. But i just play immersively so what do i know 😢

All that supply dying in the 1st battle is gonna be painful later on
12:09 PIVADs actually doing something useful, an auspicious start to the campaign for sure.
Artillery really would have saved your ass in that first battle
Agreed
always have at least counter arty. Secondly, AI does not seem very sophisticated here...
@@kohtalainenalias The 3-11 ACR doesn't have any arty
@@blazeeer1483 there were mortar vehicles and m109s listed if you look at the unit cards.
I see the AI still loves himself some smoke artillery. Throwback to Red Dragon lol.
Loving the WARNO content, bro
Are you planning on doing a PVP campaign in one of these WARNO campaign maps? It would be a neat new way to play WARNO.
Woo! Been looking forward to this! :)

All right! Was hoping you would do the campaigns...I think I have finally gotten through all of your SD2 campaigns.
It was slower than pvp I can finally understand a bit of what is happening...it's very good I can't wait for the other episodes

The fatigue system does feel odd to begin with but it forces you to play very strategically. Especially when faced with overwhelming odds.

It takes a lot of planning to be able to rotate your units in and out of combat.
😂 The amount of 20 mm these SU-25s are tanking....
I was looking forward for this :)
I find it interesting how willing the artificial intelligence was to flank, with supply-trucks no less, yet bring no support.

was waiting for this
This looked so damn easy. I guess if I played this battle it would be 1:11 instead of 11:1 ;-P
I`m on the fence here. WARNO or Regiments III? Which one is better for SOLO? Better AI? I don`t have time for PVP. Thx for a great video.

23:22: Why are the Abrams deploying their smoke automatically? Is there a setting for them to do so? I hate micromanaging this aspect.

2 arty on counter would have done magic
I did this one with my friend on coop, once you get the main Soviet Guards spearheads destroyed its pretty much steamrolling
Yeah you do have howitzers btw lol
Love the video!
HOLD THE LINE
29:41 what would of happened if you pulled troops to flank their right to help middle
Is this a continuation of the 1st scenario or is this essentially a new plot?

Hell yeah
Is this game fully out now?
lets go
How do you rate the AI compared to steel division 2 ?
I guess SD2's AI was okayish, definitely better than in wargame red dragon
honest to god i'd do the voice acting for free
it's painfully obvious they did it with AI for the dialogue from those generals.

Tried Warnp. Feels like Wargame Airandland is much better game.
Kind of lame that they use AI voices. Hopefully that's something they'll change.
They are using AI for that?
They don't
They have voice actors for them now. Although I'll admit the Major sounds like AI 😂
