For that weak sack of flesh that you so gleefully mock is no super soldier, no immortal warrior, no creature cursed by chaos like you. He is a man, an imperial guardsmen drawn from some forgotten corner of the Imperium to fight for his species and for the safety of the people he loves. He is a factory worker, a farmer, a storekeeper, a father, a brother, a son, a mere man. And against creatures like you, teeming and numberless, powered by the very will of thirsting gods......... He holds the line. He has held the line for ten thousand Years. CADIA STANDS! FOR THE 8TH AND THE EMPEROR, FORWARD!
Ahhhh, sweet frail Humans in a galaxy of horrors. Capable of the most evil and cowardly deeds, yet also able to perform the most epic and courageous acts. The true power of Humanity lies in its ability to embrace the full spectrum of what is, what can be, and even what seems almost impossible.
I feel like if there was a movie about the fall of cadia and it ended with a graphic scene of cadia being torn apart and the galaxy ripped asunder to invoke shock intot he audience This song would be the intro to the second movie showing cadian fleets and shock troops hunting down traitor forces.
It would be an amazing movie and a tremendous honor! I can picture it clearly: heretics invading an agri-world to capture slaves, pillaging and wreaking havoc. Then, the earth begins to shake. Birds take flight. A Chaos Marine looks around in confusion-before his head is blown apart. The camera pans to reveal a Baneblade, proudly bearing the name "Emperor's Peace," rolling out, followed by Leman Russ tanks and screaming conscripts... Even on Krieg, this movie would be an instant classic.
Or we see the fortress fall and shatter the planet, we see the Cadians keep fighting while Shuttles fly to their ships to evacuate important personal and in the Voice of a Chapter Master of the Astartes (maybe Dante or Calgar) or some Lord General. maybe a Hero like Ciaphas Cain or an Inquisitor, we hear a speech of them praising the Courage of the Cadians. and in an after Credit Scene we see on a World as a Cadian regimental Flag is raised and a regiment prepares to move out to hunt the Black Legion
I suspect this would be a marching song sung when morale is flagging or when marching home from a victory. Imagine that band of brothers and sisters, the last children of Cadia, full of pride with every verse restoring flagging resolve. Their ogryn, who don't understand or remember the words, nevertheless humming perfectly in tune. Their voices providing the bass that is heard and felt by the entire regiment. Even as Abaddon destroyed their home, they stand tall and proud. For, in a sense, as long as they all draw breath? Cadia stands.
Especially if they are marching to certain doom where they know they will all die. But knowing in their hearts that if they just stand their ground a little bit more than more people are saved and more enemies of mankind are killed.
The God Emperor blesses the brave guardsmen who give their lives over the entire empire and the empire blesses you, my son, for making such good music that reflects this perfectly!
You honor me again Lion. I'm more than glad that you find this song good and fitting with the theme. I hope that the Emperor keep helping me in winning my battle against chaos (or Ai unpredictibility).
I mean he needed a Blackstone Fortress to crush their world and they now volunteer against the Black Legion... What besides the complete extinction of all Cadian Bloodlines could break their Spirit and even then are we sure they wouldn't evolve in something like the Legion of the damned just to spite him??
Let's remember this: Chaos is us, the whole galaxy. The emotions, the dreams, the fears and the sins. So, for what i can think: they are depending on us. They might be powerfull, but they need us more than us needing them. We can fix them.... At least we can try.

No surprise we are one of the Chaos Gods' favorite living beings...

@@phantomreaper2057I wasn’t expecting much, but they managed to do something quite difficult (especially lately): staying true to the source material and its themes. It did actually break before the guard did, accounts say that even as the planet cracked and burned around them, the Cadian's never lowered their weapons and kept fighting, some accounts even say that on floating pieces of the planet, one could still see the defiant flashes of lasgun fire.
